The final boss fight was impressive, but Bioware should realize that we're playing this after having beaten the game and without access to optimal party members (ie healing), or even decent stores. I also don't really want to have to min/max my party to play the DLC on Normal. A really, really long boss battle where the boss has undodgeable special attacks that can pretty much drop a party member in one hit can be fun when I can prepare properly, but it's a chore when I can't.
Talis never worked for me. She's like Isabella, and the story never really took time to explore the ways that she isn't. Over the span of DA2 proper, she might have worked, but not in this compressed timeline. Also, making her face look like Felicia Day's created a pretty severe uncanny valley effect for me.
It did look absolutely gorgeous, though, and I do like that it pushed my expectations. I just didn't think the execution was there. It may have been too ambitious, in fact.

If there were any Cons, I guess for me it would be that I thought Legacy's environments looked better, but maybe that's because Legacy had a better place to design environments with artistic appeal? I was hoping for a longer DLC by at least a couple of hours. Not enough stealth time for me. I felt kind of cheated by how short it was.
Anywho, this DLC was definitely on par enough for me to buy the next one, assuming hopefully there will be one.

-Some of the textures were amazing, the water was the best ive seen thus far in any game (and i dont think iwas using directx11 or a card that supported it
-cool having new enemy skins/models
-a lot of the new areas textures were awesome
-neat little scripting bits with the guards looking for you and the tile game
MOAR DLC!!

-The dialogue was great as usual; some of Hawke's lines cracked me up like none other.
-The environments were better than the main game; however, I would love some spaces that are a little more open and feel less railroaded.
-The puzzles were well done. I'm not a huge puzzle person, but I enjoyed them in here.
-The cameos were definitely a pleasant surprise.
-The story tidbits, while not incredibly extensive or earthshattering, were interesting. I really appreciate playing DLC that ties into the main game to a greater extent than Origins DLC did.
Constructive criticism:
- I know it's DLC, but I would really like to see more meaningfl choices. I understand it's difficult to incorporate all the options into the main games, but the lack of choice with the ending was a definite letdown.
-I like the idea of stealth, but I think it could be implemented better. I'm not sure of the best way to go about it, though.
-I'd like to see boss battles that are about more than just having incredibly long health bars. The DLC boss battles have been better than the battles in the main game in this regard, but could still use some refinement. Then again, I could be biased because I was playing Demon's Souls right before I started this DLC, and those boss battles are a lot of fun for me.
Thanks again for making another very good piece of DLC; I'm certainly looking forward to whatever's coming next!

I loved the stealth section a lot. I love stealth and non-lethal approach in general, and always prefer it to fights, so I was happy that stealth part just existed, no matter how short and basic it was.
I liked that new casual outfit. I would prefer to have the dress, but it is still a lot better than finery.
But what I hated is how Tallis was handled. First, it felt like she was pushing Hawke and companions away from the main role. If you loved Felicia Day so much, why you didn't make something akin to Leliana Song where Tallis could be the main character, so she could shine without taking spotlight from the main character of the game?
In some moments I literally facepalmed:
1. You can't choose what companion to take to the actual party. I can understand that it would be just too much work to create party outfits for all the companions and to write additional dialogs for all of them, but why not make a dialog with the option to protest taking Tallis along and be 'persuaded' to take the stranger instead of friend, sibling or LI?
2. When you do the key hunting, she gets to have private talks with all the NPCs. Why can't players choose whether to do it themselves or refer to the companion? I mean, it is common feature in the main game, why not here?
3. Escape. If previous two points were just irritating, this one made me rage. Why not pull the Fort Drakon and let player decide, who is the hero? It felt like a taunt, really. Like 'Remember how awesone it was when companions saved your Warden? Not gonna happen here!
And Tallis' demeanor in this scene made it many times worse. It's all like "I could open this door with just one move of my fingers any moment, but I was waiting to show you how much your friends suck".
I understand your wish to show how cool Tallis is, but you just overdid it. Made me hate the character I was hoping to like when I started the DLC.
4. Really minor thing compared to others, but still annoying. By the end of the DLC I was tired of pre-fight or mid-fight cutscenes where Tallis jumps somewhere high and throws the knife. One such scene is enough to show off her abilities. But do this several times, and it becomes tedious. By the end it looked like a parody, and I doubt it was your intent.
5. Why Hawke coudn't tell that Tallis is qunari despite big qunari symbol all over Tallis’ stomach? Hawke is not blind, Hawke has met qunari before and she knows how their insignia look, and somehow mid-DLC she acts all surprised at the reveal.
I could see such reaction for the beginning of Act 1, but after meeting Arishok, not to notice that Tallis is qunari is just stupid. IMO, the first question after their meeting should have been something like 'Did Qunari sent you to avenge Arishok?' for the act 3 or 'Did Arishok sent you?' for the acts 1 and 2.
Alternatively, you could make a different reaction for Hawke to the reveal, something like 'I always knew that you are qunari, but I was curious to see why qunari would defer to lies' or something like that. You don't really need to make Hawke blind and dumb for the sake of dramatic reveal.
Or the insignia was added to Tallis' armor after all dialogs were recorded and writers didn't see that insignia until it was too late to change the model?
Gosh, I sound so negative. I don't mean to bash the character, really. I truly wanted to like this character. I hoped for the second Kasumi (who I love beyond any measure, btw), seeing how this DLC is similar in theme to the Stolen Memories. But aforementioned things just ruined Tallis for me, and I'm very disappointed about that, as the character has many good things about her!
I loved her inner conflict of Ben-Hassrath who still deeply believes in Qun but questions the decision of her superiors not to retrieve that quest thing. I love her decides to act on her own even if she might die in the process, even if she might face punishement upon success, not the praise.
There could be some incredible dialogs between her and Salit, who was her mentor and who knew Tallis and her painful points like no one else, to flesh out this conflict more.
I could even see her inappropriately sassy attitude as the point that not all qunari are silent stoics and they could have wider range of personalities that players were led to believe by Sten and Arishok, which could be interesting too. I would love some dialogs about it!
When I first saw her, I was so hoping for more qunari lore. She could be walking qunari encyclopedia, as she is not the silen type. I would love to ask her qunari female about role of the woman in their society from the perspective of non-soldier, maybe to ask about their daily life, culture (as in songs, art, etc), food, traditions, about their perception of non-qunari and interaction with them. We know so little of qunari, and you had the perfect opportunity to tell us more here! I'm really bummed you didn't use it.
That's why I'm so frustrated with her. She had so much potential for interesting and unique character, but instead we got generic sassy rogue. I don't understand why you even needed to make her qunari, more so Ben-Hassrath, if this didn't tell us anything new about qunari aside from the fact that some qunari women do fight after all.
The way Tallis turned out to be makes me feel that if she was one of the people she talks about in the end, it would make a lot more sense and wouldn't disappoint so much!
Also, I had one non-Tallis issue that I cannot ignore. Who wrote that horrible Hawke-Isabela banter about Gamlen? Please tell that person that sexual harassment isn't fun and that not all people play their Hawkes as a jerks who would laugh up such topic.
And it was not even a dialogue, just a background banter, so I couldn't even control my Hawke's response. If some people want to roleplay their Hawkes as jerks, let them do so, but please do not default all Hawkes to this.
If Isabela complained to my Hawke that Gamlen harassed her and asked to deal with the dirty uncle, my Hawke would promise to break his hands, at the very least. And she would never ever tell her beloved that sexual harassment is funny to observe so she won't do anything about this.
Or do you really believe that when your older relative sexually harassing your life partner, it is a fun thing and should be encouraged?
Please tell me it was some mistake and the banter should have had additional lines in it that wouldn't make it sound so bad!
I'm really sorry that I wrote so many negative things, but I wanted not just tell that there were things I didn't like, but to explain why exactly I didn't like them. I think you deserve the explanation, not just negative response.
I liked this DLC. I would have loved it if not for the aforementioned banter and the way Tallis was portrayed. It is still nice story, fun to play, I don't regret getting it at all, but I could have been awesome instead of just ok.
----------------------------
Also I have some questions that I hope can be answered.
1. What does Tallis stands for? I mean, it was stated many times that qunari do not have names in the sense we do. So, what does this word mean? Is that a term of ‘undercover Ben-Hassrath agent that works in foreign lands’ or something like that? Or is Tallis just so very special that she was allowed to keep the name she used to have before converting?
2. Are Ben-Hassrath the rough analog to Templars? The way their role was worded in MotA, they deal with matters concerning their religion etc. And if I’m correct, why did they send Arishok –leader of the military force – after the Tome, and not some elite Ben-Hassrath unit? It was clearly the matter of religion.
3. Why can't we keep new casual outfit? It's not like it is impossible. For example, in ME2 we got to keep Shepard's party dress. What was the decision behind not letting us keep it? Is it somehow different from new weapons, accessories and armors we got here and in Legacy? I'm really curious!

-Merril and Varric were hilarious as always. I loved the call-back to the twine ball while they're in the dungeon, and Merril's line about shanking someone had me rolling on the floor.
-My favorite parts were the unique dialogues, like recognizing Hawke being deemed a worthy opponent by the Arashok. I also liked how my replies shaped Tallis' opinion of me over the course of the adventure.
-That damn face puzzle took me a solid hour to figure out. But man was it satisfying when I did.
-"Fall from grace." This scene NEEDED a Hawke putting on a pair of sunglasses.(Or perhaps a set of UNIQUE HEADGEAR that resembles sunglasses. Hint, hint.) It was still awesome though.
Things I didn't like-
-The set armor is a re-color? Really? That seemed kind of lazy.
-I really wish there had been waypoints for us to re-equip like in Legacy. Not being able to set up for some of those boss fights was a pain.
Overall, I really liked this one, though I wish there'd been more opportunity for Hawke to explain her motivations for helping Tallis. Also, as always, needs moar cameo by The Warden.

I really, really enjoyed it. I LOVE the dialogue between the characters. I love that Hawke was included in some of the banter. THANK YOU for the LI specific banter
I enjoyed it more than Legacy because I like political stuff more than straight fantasy. I think both were well-written stories that added dimension to the preexisting story.
Only complaints: Tallis, didn't like her. I thought she wasn't very pretty for one thing, but that's a bizarre and very subjective opinion. But I felt like the DLC was just sort of background to THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS TALLIS! ARE YOU NOT IMPRESSED BY THE AWESOME TALLIS? LOOK AT HER JUMP! LOOK AT HER KILL! HOLY CRAP, LOOK AT HER FLIRT!
It was like Tallis overkill lol As I said to some friends, I already have a sexy snarky rogue assassin type. Her name's Isabela!
But that is PERSONAL. I don't think Tallis was poorly designed. Not at all. I just wish the DLC hadn't focused around her so so so so much. In fact I almost did not purchase MOTA because all I ever read about it was how Felicia Day was the voice actress and Tallis was just gonna be AWESOME! Blah, blah, blah lol
Only other minor complaint was the whole puzzle thing in the Vault. Yawn. But that's just because I hate puzzles in games. Blame it on frakking Lara Croft. Ugh.
Also, the stealth section. Suddenly Hawke is Tenchu?!

The artwork and enviroments are the most beautiful in the game so far. Well done, it was really pleasant to explore. The characters were nice, and I really liked the dialogues and banters that I've seen so far (especially the LI specific ones).
I have to say though that Tallis' headmorph was just not that good. She looked too old and expressionless at some points(at least if you take into account that she's supposed to be Felicia Day's age) and it really didn't look like the actress. She stuck out amongst the other faces in the game, and not in a good way. It was like you put a Mass effect graphics face in a dragon age game. It's too different (and even in Mass Effect, Miranda was not really a good headmorph). One thing I've noticed is that you make their faces really wide compared to the rest...I just think it could use some tweaking.
I disliked the puzzles, but then again they're optional (besides the gate one) so thank you for that. You should continue making them optional because there are a lot of gamers (like me) who don't really like them. I liked the color door puzzles though. Those were fun. But for the block puzzles I had to look for a walkthrough.
The fights were a lot of fun, I liked the new enemies. I had a really hard time in the stealth part of the game, it needed a lot of trial and error that got frustrating and made me wish I had picked the fighting option instead.
I don't think there's anything else to add...well done on a really good DLC, I plan on playing it more in the future

I too, found some of the puzzles frustrating, but they were optional, so that's not an issue. I agree about Tallis's facemorph too - something in the eyes and skin tone feels off, but hey, not a big issue.

The only thing I disliked about Tallis' face was her chin. I just didnt feel that it worked well with her being an elf, its to short and rounded. Buuuut thats Felicia Day, so whatever. XD

MotA has replaced Shepherding Wolves as my favorite quest. I greatly enjoyed this DLC.
Pros:
1) The humour (beesting, "mine mine mine!" etc)
2) The in-jokes (Leliana likes Hawke's shoes, Bann Teagan and Isolde etc)
3) Tallis, equal parts funny, endearing and passionate.
4) Expanding the lore (ghasts, wyverns, Ben-Hassrath etc).
5) Being rewarded/acknowledged for not killing everyone in your path.
6) Good scenery and music
7) Good fights.
Cons:
1) The plot was a little thin. Hawke teams up with a complete stranger for a heist? For little reason? Hawke never noticed she was qunari? Why did one of the Ben-Hassrath become Tal-Vashoth anyway?
2) Misalignment of expectations. After learning about Salit I assumed the quest was building up to an epic confrontation with him, only for him to be taken out like a chump. I also thought from Tallis' dialogue that the "big choice" of the DLC was going to be either reaffirming her belief in the Qun or convincing her to abandon it.
3) Prosper was not a good antagonist. Quite aside from the fact that he was acting as a (mostly) good guy (acting on behalf of his empress to gain intelligence on a hostile foreign power), he came across mainly as a crazed lunatic (why did he ruin the deall? And threatening Kirkwall after being defeated, wtf?).
4) Lack of choice in main quest outcome.
5) I would have liked to mention the plight of saarebases to Tallis and seen her reaction.

Indeed, you implied that any girl who does (such as those who might work at BioWare) must have been absent or ill to think such a thing. That's a little insulting, as I said, and I'm calling you on it.
I think we'd have been more than happy to have had the resources to give femHawke a unique outfit (we'll ignore just which unique outfit that would have been, and whether or not that would actually make anyone happier). Settling for having an outfit that works for both genders is not indicative of a lower priority towards female gamers in general... and I'd really hope the majority of female gamers don't place such a high priority on their clothing that the lack of an outfit pretty enough to please everyone overrides everything else we do to be inclusive.
I can say that without claiming your personal opinion is invalid, or suggesting anything about your character or current state of being. Thanks and good day-- I think I'm done talking about this particular topic now.
You know, of all of the elements of this DLC, I was rather surprised to see this particular one being an issue, and I find it quite bizarre. I'll just add my 2 copper...
I'm a girl gamer, and I play a femHawke. I like to have matching and decent looking outfits/armor. Ofttimes I will delay wearing an armor upgrade until I get more pieces of the set so that I look more complete. I mean, I have to look at this character all the time, especially with this game's emphasis on cutscenes and such.
This game engine, like DAO before it, and in fact most game engines, do robes/dresses poorly. Just standing around is fine, but any sort of movement or sitting looks bad. My preferred class is a mage, and yes, I go out of my way to NOT wear robes. In DAO the only alternative was the feathered Tevinter tunic/legging combo but that's all. Thankfully DA2 has a few more pieces to wear. The Fugitive's set from Mage Item Pack 1 is my favorite set for a mage in the entire game.
All of that said, I didn't really find any issue with the party outfits. I really liked Tallis's clothing (normal fighting gear and party outfit), and Hawke's outfit was OK. I actually felt Hawke looked better in her party outfit than she did in her Hightown mansion casual wear, and was pleased to see that it was not a dress, as that does not fit my Hawke's personality.
Many games have come a long way from having women wearing plate bikinis. For Bioware in particular, they have made great advancements with female armor, one need only look at the terrible bodice options in the Neverwinter Nights toolset to see that.
The bottom line however, is that Hawke's party outfit was the last thing on my mind while playing this DLC.

Despite my previous comment I bought this dlc, 5euros and some, not that big investment. Now, the dlc itself.
- It was ok, some new graphics (still bad overall, nothing to compare to Origins)
- party banter, minor.
- plot: to display actor called Felicia day in a ripoff from "Kasumi - stolen memory".
- party interaction, none.
- LI interaction, none.
- general interaction, some.
- ability to affect to story, none.
- puzzles, do not generally care about them, but workable.
Still a improvement from Legacy though if this is what DA3 would be I would not buy it. Still has tons of issues to work on.
What DLC were you playing? All my Hawke's had LI interaction.
Party banter is not interaction. Ok, you get to talk with Isabela once with the dagger issue but not at once with Merrill. So I would say there is no interaction compared how much you get to talk to Tallis. Whom is a annoying character btw. All the other elves have generic face but then you have Ms Day with pointy ears. Its like Bw would slap Sean Connery´s face on a dwarf which then would be a short Connery and not a dwarf.

Dialogue/Banter:
So much hilarity, where to begin. I love the companion banter - I'm still happy we even have companion banter at all, coming from the ME2 DLCs. Party members are what really sell RPGs for me, so I enjoyed their comments on everything. Even Hawke is chattier than usual in MotA. I approve. I know having your PC say things without your input can be jarring for some, but that's where the beauty of the personality tracker comes in. My Hawke's comments aren't too far off from what I'd expect her to say; I enjoyed every word out of Snark!Hawke's mouth. Some had me crying I was laughing so hard. Kudos to the writers and whoever is responsible for animating Hawke's 'wtf' expression.
Environment/Models/Graphics:
There are some gorgeous places in MotA, both indoors and outdoors, but outdoors especially. The mountainside really feels like a mountain, what with the super narrow paths tucked between tall trees and the extremely steep inclines. I love that I can spot Chateau Haine nestled against the mountainside as I'm running up the road. Combat also benefits from this; most enemy reinforcements spawn from places that make sense, much better than in core DA2.
The new skins for armor and clothes (and some NPCs!) are great, I'm just sad Hawke doesn't get to bring a set of said new armor home. =P This goes for the poofed sleeves dress shirt Lady Hawke wears, too. I would've liked to stroll around my estate in that instead of the smoking jacket.
Combat:
Sky boss is pretty brutal, I think due to the combination of hard hitting enemies + small enclosed space. But the final boss fight is possibly my favorite battle in all of DA2. It's more fun than the High Dragon, along the lines of Corypheus but even moreso. I can't get into details here, but the mechanics of it are just plain enjoyable. I like boss fights with phases, makes them memorable. And the animations make the fight feel so alive.
Puzzles:
Took me a while to figure out, but very satisfying when I finally did. The loot itself isn't exciting, but I do appreciate the callback to segments of DA:O and even Baldur's Gate, where you're running around pulling switches, poking tiles, staring at cryptic clues, and fighting fantastic creatures for the sole purpose of getting loot at the end of it all. Please put more moments like these in future DA titles.
Story/Lore:
MotA is very centered around Tallis. This is not necessarily bad; there are times I feel Hawke is a guest star in her own story, but at the same time I like the tidbits about Qunari lore we could pull from Tallis. And I'll be honest, before MotA I always thought of Orlesians as a frilly nation only good for poking fun at, but after going through this DLC I finally view them with some respect, maybe even a little awe. I can't wait to go to Orlais in DA3.
Stealth:
I wanted to like this part, but the whole segment felt like a rough parody of movie and story cliches. Thrown rocks are all you need to distract guards, no one raises an alarm if they find their buddy KO'd on the floor, and the guards stroll past open doors that were closed a minute ago without comment. It was immersion-breaking. But I understand this feature is new territory. With some polish, it could be great. And at the end of the day, I'd rather bludgeon my way through gameplay than sneak around, anyway, so thank you for making the stealth bit optional, haha.
Nitpicks:
Most of the loot you can get in MotA is not impressive. But it's hard to top the stuff from the item packs and Legacy. And I was playing at level 25+ with my gear pretty much set in stone, so I can't really talk. S'why this is a nitpick.
Tallis leaves and rejoins the party a lot, especially in the second half of content. I had to reapply buffs every time she did this, so it was a little annoying. But now I know in future runs not to give her my poisons, so... nitpick.
Not really a nitpick, more of a minor positive comment: The Aveline sidequest involving a certain piece of dangerous glassware? Really took me by surprise, and I'm thankful we actually get to comment on it instead of just receiving a codex entry. Hope to see more of those in future DA titles, too.
tl;dr - The DLC was well worth the cost. I didn't like DA:O's story DLCs much, but Legacy and MotA have both been fantastic. Keep up the awesome work!

story - Interesting glimpse into the political forces dealings and tensions in Thedas.
Tallis - I thought she was a good character, although I think she's going to be more of a love to hate one in most of my playthroughs. I found the contradiction in her additudes a little bit jarring.
Banter - loved it, as always, only gripe - it would have been nice if Hawke had a response to LI specific dialog, not anything too gushing but some sort of acknowledgement would have been nice.
Interaction - good with Tallis but as with the banter, it would have been nice if Hawke could respond to comments put in from LI.
environments/locations - Orlais looked amazing, The colour and countryside really made it feel like another place in Thedas. A real breath of fresh air.
enemies - Loved the new enemies, some of the fights were really challenging, especially with my Act 1 Hawke. I was playing on Hard and there came a point when I just had to switch to normal (not enough healing/potions). I'm looking forward to taking a more successful Hawke through on Hard.
stealth -I like it, but found it a bit frustrating, I would prefer a break on stealth to result in a fight (even it it's a difficult fight with only a dagger). I loved stealth in DAO so I hope that this will be further refined for future content/games.
puzzles - Loved, especially the easy ones (I'm rubbish at puzzles and cheated at the floor painting one
side quests - nice variety of fun little things to do as you follow the main quest.
ElvesThe NPC Elves seemed to look nicer, I don't know if it was just a one off or if the Art team have decided to tone down the elven features a bit. The elven waitress at the party seemed to have a less pronounced elven nose which I thought looked much better. Tallis also had this but I don't know if that's more about keeping more resemblance to Felicia Day.
costumes - I thought they were generally excellent, the orlesians, especially the Duke looked fantastically OTT.
Mark of the Assassin is my favourite DA DLC to date and is probably on a par with LoTSB. I am more than happy to pay 800 BW points for content like this

Good*Pretty much all of it. A few little silly moments in game had me laughing like no other game has had me before. Especially Fenris saying, "poopy" and Hawke's bee sting. *Tallis is pretty awesome, but we have already established that.*The new landscape, the new models, characters... all very polished and all breathe life into Chateau Haine
*Plot's awesome.
*Love those Harlequin's. No idea what or who they are, but they are awesome.
*Loved the cameos. I can't wait to see how Tally Ho knows Leliana.
*I LOVED the stealth section. Nitpicking all the logistics for a DLC is pointless. It was what it was in it's limitations and it was bloody fun as all hell
Not So Good
*Didn't like the female party outfit, but that's personal taste. Perhaps because I thought I would have liked a seperate look for male and female.
*The ending was alright, but I didn't feel like it had properly ended. I think I needed a little more retrospect.
*The romance? It felt like it was just put in there to appease Felicia fans and get more buye-... oh wait!
*Was hoping for a proper conclusion to the companion quests, but you can't have everything.
*Was also hoping for some cutesy Fenris LI banter, but you can't have everything.

Also, Redemption (so far) is bloody amazing. Props to Ms. Day and the production crew for this gem. I hardly ever see web series that aren't stuck up their own arse and are full of bad actors. Plus the team did so well for their budget limitations. Amazing.
Also also, I have named Tallis, "Tally Ho" in my posts for my own personal entertainment.
