is it just me, or does Tallis die a lot during the DLC on hard mode and nightmare?

I had her die a lot in the sections where a constitution bug seemed to be present and all of my party members seem to have less HP than they were supposed to.

Where can I see some pics of Femhawke's party outfit?

EDIT: Saw some pics (thanks scampermax! ;)). JohnEpler you win. Kudos for making it that way. I would have very much preferred if they had done it that way in LotSB and Kasumi as well.

I enjoyed it very much! The new enemies were fun and the writing was hilarious. It was the perfect storm of in jokes and memes. Please tell me 'tide goes in, tide goes out' was a deliberate reference to O'Reilly, I nearly died laughing. And the fashion emergency. Oh mannnn.

I loved the mix of combat, puzzles, mingling, 'stealth'... the Wyverns are so awesome looking and well animated, I love them to pieces, can there be more critters like that in the future? They stand out as being uniquely Dragon Age-y more than even the Dragons. The ghasts, too. Ghasts >>>>>> deepstalkers as far as cave dwelling things are concerned. Big-hat ghast gonna big-hat.

And kudos to Felicia Day for Tallis, I didn't think it would happen but I forgot about the whole eerie Felicia Day resemblance because Tallis fits so well in the world.

I liked the puzzles :o especially the mixer one and the turnover tiles.
The fire one I didn't really get, so I kinda cheated on that one which frustrated me <_< I like doing it on my own.

Challenging fights! I HATE THEM LITTLE GHASTS! They freaked me out and they were pretty difficult the first time I think.
But I liked the boss fight a lot but ran out of lyrium potions pretty fast, so next replay I will be prepared.

As others have said, FemHawke's party clothes were manly but I understand why it was done.
Perhaps next time ManHawke will have frilly, pretty clothes on though?

Enjoyed the cameos and Lady Isolde saying "Ooh is dis woman, Teagan?" again. Ah memories.
And the fountain was cute.

@Raycer X: I played on hard and yeah she died in most of my fights. I was gonna respec her but wasn't sure if there was going to be any juicy locked chests so didn't.

Don't know if it was a bug, but couldn't pick up that feather on the chest for the Anders quest so I'm gonna reload another time and see.

EDIT: No bug. Just me being dim ;)

Overall I enjoyed it, but I think I preferred Legacy - probably because the Hawke family pre-kirkwall is a huge mystery and well Corypheus.
Nice change though :) Evil Orlesians..

Oh yeah, the ghasts totally reminded me of murlocs. I HATE murlocs. So, as enemies go, good job.

Fun, fun, fun!

Lots of dialog (the ME2 referenced made me laugh aloud). I enjoyed the lore, puzzles, the new environments and stealth section (and I like that I can slaughter my way through in another PT).

I thought Felicia Day was great - I can't get that nug call out of my head.

As far as "bad side," my only (slight) disappointment was at the very end where I was hoping for some branching which did not happen. Also I wish I could have gotten some different weapons (maybe at the quartermaster at the castle), her damage output was so so...

That said I have already played twice and getting ready for more tonight!

I'll take full responsibility for femHawke not having a skirt or a dress. The problem with that sort of clothing is that it requires a rather different set of animations to look A) good and B) not too Basic Instinct'ish. Given the animation budget we had for the DLC, I requested that we just give her the same sort of clothes as Male Hawke to sidestep that problem, as I felt the time would be better spent elsewhere. It's a fair point, though, and as with all things there were definite sacrifices made as a result of the decision.

I saw some other guests in pants like outfits. Tallis had pants as well and I just assumed that since my Hawke was going to be sneaking that a dress would not have been appropriate.

Well that was excellent!

+ Loved the new open enviroments
+ Stealth was good
+ The humour - definitely at its peak here
+ Banter/cutscenes with Tallis were fantastic
+ Loved all the references to things Hawke had done in the main game
+ New weapons were all pretty good
+ More dialogue, less combat!
+ The new enemies
+ Puzzles
- Puzzles
- The robes set my mageHawke got in the vault... seriously, Bioware? I hope that's a bug and you seriously didn't give me the Robes of the Overseer again
- Not enough banter with non-Tallis companions
- Would have liked another "epilogue" chat at the end, ending just felt a bit jarring compared to Legacy's

Metacritic reviews:

"Bioware does it again! A truly worthy addition to what PC Gamer crowned the "best RPG of this decade" Dragon Age II Mark of the Assassin surpasses everything gamers have come to expect from DLC. The lovely Felicia Day comes alive as Tallis in a performance so convincing and immersive it as if you were actually exploring the world of Thedas with the actress herself. The new stealth based mechanics are simply amazing and add hours of replay value to an already incredible game. Now not only can you think like a General and fight like a Spartan, but you can now sneak like a Ninja as well. Bioware has shown that they are the modern day masters in the gaming industry, providing in a DLC better stealth based combat and avoidance than seen in the Metal Gear Solid and Assassins' Creed series. Truly this is a must buy and one can only marvel at what next exciting chapter awaits Dragon Age II."

"It's zero. No, not for the DLC, for I haven't played it yet. I'm giving it to equal the review of Merrill4Life so that others don't have to do it. Since all he(?) does is giving 10 points to DA2 related games and everything else a low score and then mention something incredibly silly in It. I know nobody likes injustice here, but believe me, that's why I posted this score."

lol'd.

I agree - sorry to be critical but while the game play is OK, barring a few issues, the plot is just, well, terrible.  The pretext to get you on the quest is weak - probably the weakest in the game.  The overall exposition is poor and the outcome is just rubbish.
Come on;
"Give me the scroll"
"after all I went through to get it, you must be joking"
"oh, OK, bye" - WTF?

"Oh, the innocents, won't someone think of the children!" - yeah that works because Hawke, et al wouldn't possibly think that a bunch of qunari agents may themselves be a danger to any innocents.

Overall, this attempted about turn on the Qunari is a little jarring and the lack of any real influence on the outcome is very dissappointing.

One of the main criticisms of the vanilla game was the lack of proper C & C.... BioWare is listening.

Excellent DLC!
Environment are awesome, the Orlesians are hilarious, and the Wyvern - Wow! Clearly inspired by the Thanator in Avatar, but this is no bad thing.
Loved the balance between combat, conversations and other challenges.

Felicia was BRILLIANT!

Really can't find much fault with it apart from 2 thing...errr, let's make it 3!

1 - The start of it seemed a mid muddled to me, took a while to understand what's going on. Felt a bit rushed into.
2 - I spent hours trying to work out one particular puzzle, which in itself is great (ended up getting through it with a tutorial) and what do I get for it? A generic set of warrior armor. Great.
Seriously, the only set of armor I have to walk away with from the entire DLC is a generic set? Even an Orlesian Guard set would have been better! Something I don't already have...
3 - The End came too quickly. In Legacy it was done right with a conclusion after the final boss, but here we are just transported back to the estate.

Oh, there's a 4th thing!
The music in the Hunting Grounds. Not great. Not the music itself, but the way it goes in and out at seemingly random times.

Overall still, this DLC felt polished and well thought out with high replay value. I am about to start my second...

Well done Bioware!

Totally loved this DLC. I was a little on the fence about it at first: I'm not really a big fan of Felicia Day *gasp* and the trailer looked a bit...meh? But holy crap, I loved it. I need to play through with every possible combination of party members to see all the dialogue variations. Some of the banter was just absolutely stellar. I loved the cameos too. I'd love to see Tallis as a permanent party member, maybe in a future installment? And I totally gained a new appreciation for Felicia Day, too. Awesome acting :)

PC version, update as I go: First thought. Environments are beautiful! Good job Bioware :o.
Second, Merrill needs more dialog, Isabela is chatting up a storm but Merrill has said like only 2 sentences and I spent over
30 min. searching for those herbs in both east and west. Don't know how they got past me so many times :pinched:. Good job.
Preemptive thought.  My choice in companions might not have been the best for the coming fights (No healer. But I love this party <3).
3rd, Sky worshippers suck. I had to turn the difficulty down for that one. It just sucked.
Note: currently fighting the Alpha Wyvern on hard. I'd rather take on Flemeth any day of the week over this.... But I can't stop trying and I'm on my 6th death. *bangs head on desk* (edit: I'm being stubborn with this now. It's not showing the best in me.)
Very good Bioware, I'm loving this DLC so far and I'm not even done. :D

You should mention that the "zero" review was expressly written to cancel out that particular "ten" review you quoted directly above it.

What isn't quoted here is a "five" review that is a huge wall of text, but basically makes the "you can't fix a broken game" arguments.  The reviewer gives MOTA a "seven" score in the text but assigns a "five" on Metacritic for "political" reasons.  And if that is not "wut"-inducing enough, at the end the reviewer equates MOTA to one-tenth of Skyrim on the "Skyrim Scale".  Ok then.

The only possible conclusion to be drawn from all this is that none of these reviewers has actually played MOTA.

I enjoyed this. I enjoyed this a lot. The writing as a whole was excellent, with everyone present being way, way more amusing than I'd anticipated. Companions poking fun at DA2? Merrill and Bethany running out of twine and getting lost in a dungeon? Who ees zees wooman, Teegahn? My jaw ached from laughing by the time I was done. Tallis steals the show a little, which isn't particularly surprising, but it's hard to view that as some kind of fault when the character is so instantly attractive in every definition of the word. I was genuinely disappointed (if not surprised) when she walked off at the end, because more or less everything she says and does is hilarious, heart warming, or both. And yes, I did decipher the correct choice in a moderately tricky decision based entirely on the fact Tallis had my nose. For an agile, highly skilled killer, she's just so damn adorable.

The stealth section was... well, it's better than being implausibly invisible, but still a little rudimentary if I'm being honest. That said, it's good to see something else being tried out and I did enjoy it. Reminded me of the burglary quests in Origins, come to think of it.

Really, the only thing I can think to say as a negative are the handful of bugs I've run into, specifically 'that thing with the chests', and 'hey, where's my ring?' Both seem commonly encountered to the point where I can't quite see how they made it to release unnoticed, and are more than a little frustrating. Other than that, loved it. Moar.

Really fun DLC. I liked Tallis a lot, interesting character and nice banter/voice acting. The environments were really great - in particular, I thought the Hunting Grounds were lovely. I loved the pine trees, the flowers/ferns in the grass, and view of the mountains in the background. I also liked the layout, it didn't really feel like a tunnel where you get from point x to point y. The new enemies were fun to fight against and I would like to see them pop up again in the future. Good job with companion interaction, as always. I took Varric and Aveline with me and I'm glad I did. I'm looking forward to playing through again with the other companions. Oh, the fountain quest was a nice touch too, sort of poignant doing it in Act 3.

I'm not yet convinced if I should try out this new DLC. Some ppl already pointed out that the story is cheap and the ending is quite disappointing.

But what really turns me away from trying it out are some of the reviews.

I almost puked. Now I loved some of BW older games like KotOR or NWN1. I also enjoyed both ME games and DA:O. But if someone calls DA2, a MASTERPIECE than im starting to have doubts if I should spend more money for DLC's.

Gonna wait for more HONSET feedback here.

PS. If I take Fenris with me, will he have some side quests or smth? I'm wondering coz on my 2nd playthrough I chose him over Merrill for romance hoping that in future Add-ons he will have smth more to say. However  in Legacy he was a total fail <_< .

I'm having major difficulty getting this DLC downloaded. I've been trying to get it for almost 4 hours now and everytime it gets to around 25% it just stops and makes me start over again.

Suggestions?

great dlc again. played through it onced and missed some of the stuff. now doing my second run with my sarcastic hawke and it is freakin hillarious. the dialogues with the guards at the party are great. i liked the stealth passages as well. reminded me of zelda xD and really great final boss fight again. thought it was pretty cool and epic. so thanks again bioware for such a great dlc.

ps: the german voice acting again is great. especially prosper. he has the little french accent which is typical for an orlesian, but it's not too over the top like the nobles from da2 (which also appear at the party). ah and btw the party in general is great with all it's references to da1/da2.
