I'm not yet convinced if I should try out this new DLC. Some ppl already pointed out that the story is cheap and the ending is quite disappointing.
But what really turns me away from trying it out are some of the reviews.I almost puked. Now I loved some of BW older games like KotOR or NWN1. I also enjoyed both ME games and DA:O. But if someone calls DA2, a MASTERPIECE than im starting to have doubts if I should spend more money for DLC's.*snip*
Gonna wait for more HONSET feedback here.
PS. If I take Fenris with me, will he have some side quests or smth? I'm wondering coz on my 2nd playthrough I chose him over Merrill for romance hoping that in future Add-ons he will have smth more to say. However in Legacy he was a total fail <_< .
I would say read threads like this one rather than the extremes of Metacritic. As people have mentioned, there's no way to know if any of these reviewers -- positive OR negative -- have even played the DLC yet. At least you can look at people's DA2 achievements on this site, if you're skeptical.
I already said I enjoyed it, but I will say that if you are disappointed by the lack of choices and consequences, yeah, that is an issue. However, I would argue that Hawke doesn't even know what the MacGuffin is useful for, even if it was obtainable. So take that as you will.
I personally don't like the Qunari (even though I think they're a very thoughtfully written and interesting culture/religion), and I don't like Manic Pixie Dream Girls like Tallis, yet I enjoyed the story, and game mechanics like stealth and puzzles made it worthwhile to me, enough that I think that this will have more replayability for me than any other story DLC so far.
As for Fenris, yes, all party members have a small quest for a personalized item, so there's something in there for him. He's got a few new banters and will react if you flirt with Tallis and at another point, if he's your LI.

Um, there IS going to be an expansion, right?
I now await to see all the threads created to whine about certain characters not being full time party members or permanent LIs.

Other then that, great DLC.

2) The stealth mission was too forgiving but I liked it. Rogue Hawke should move a bit faster than warrior Hawke and retain the ability to assassinate enemies if that talent was learned. I would have loved to knock out Anders and take those Deep Roads Maps from him.
3) Talis was a great addition to my group. I'll trade Sebastian for her any day. What's up with her armor? No upgrades/stats? Is that a Qunari thing?
4) The courtyard section was a great change of pace. I'd like to see more sections like this integrated into future DA games.
5) I didn't care for the "puzzle room" but I was able to figure out most of them before coming to the forums.

That's how you do Dragon Age II.
I was only partially impressed (and a bit more unimpressed) with the DA II, but the last two DLCs seems to me like a step in the right direction.
My official review in the magazine will be a greatly positive one.

I enjoyed this. I enjoyed this a lot. The writing as a whole was excellent, with everyone present being way, way more amusing than I'd anticipated. Companions poking fun at DA2? Merrill and Bethany running out of twine and getting lost in a dungeon? Who ees zees wooman, Teegahn? My jaw ached from laughing by the time I was done. Tallis steals the show a little, which isn't particularly surprising, but it's hard to view that as some kind of fault when the character is so instantly attractive in every definition of the word. I was genuinely disappointed (if not surprised) when she walked off at the end, because more or less everything she says and does is hilarious, heart warming, or both. And yes, I did decipher the correct choice in a moderately tricky decision based entirely on the fact Tallis had my nose. For an agile, highly skilled killer, she's just so damn adorable.
Pretty much how I feel too. That Tallis so quickly has become one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise still has me a bit surprised, but pleased nonetheless. Can we haz more Tallis in the future? Shall I make puppy eyes and a "Tallis for DA3" banner?
The stealth section was... well, it's better than being implausibly invisible, but still a little rudimentary if I'm being honest. That said, it's good to see something else being tried out and I did enjoy it. Reminded me of the burglary quests in Origins, come to think of it.
My feelings too. It was a good first implementaion, but still very rough nonetheless, with guards ignoring you sometimes even if you were almost in front of them. Of course I won't nitpick on this because Laidlaw himself said that this was only a test implementation and that if the feedback was good they would improve upon it. And I certainly did enjoy it, it was nice for once to be able to sneak around and not have to turn things into a bloodbath. One little thing I did like was how guards wouldn't remain unconscious forever. I've seen how in other games that do stealth how that tends to happen, something that always annoys me a bit, so it was certainly a nice touch that added some challenge too. So all in all I certainly want this kind of stealth to be implemented in DA3 please!
Really, the only thing I can think to say as a negative are the handful of bugs I've run into, specifically 'that thing with the chests', and 'hey, where's my ring?' Both seem commonly encountered to the point where I can't quite see how they made it to release unnoticed, and are more than a little frustrating. Other than that, loved it. Moar.
Yeah, that part was a bit annoying although I did manage to get both chests open after a lot of fiddling with the tiles, not sure if it's just part of the puzzle or a bug.
All in all this is now officialy my favorite BW DLC (couting both Dragon Age and Mass Effect), with Tallis being the main reason for that, but even ignoring her awesomeness, everything about it was well done. The Orlesian party truly captured that Orlesian feeling, something I was a bit afraid it wouldn't. The cameos while brief (and sort of pointless indeed), were very funny nonetheless. I laughed hard at Isolde once again asking "who is diz woman?!?". And Leli...
The puzzles were really clever too. I was frustrated at them at first as I wasn't finding any logic to them, but once I got it I really liked the logic behind them.
Also, the combat was great. At first I complained a lot about it because I felt some battles were cheap and well, I suppose the Sky Horror is a bit cheap in a way, but once I brought in a very balanced party as well as good equipment, the battles were actually fun as the challenge felt much more fair (this was on nghtmare btw). The new enemies were also pretty cool, as someone mentioned, ghasts (while annoying!) are more entertaining than deepstalkers, so they are an enemy to consider implementing more in caves. And bring back wyverns!! Hunting them is a terrible risk, but deh prize...
And of course, the banter and companion interactions were once again top notch, truly making the experience so much more enjoyable. I've said it before, it's your characters that make me love your games to the extent I do. Please, whatever you decide to do in DLC in the future, keep this formula with the companions alive, it's simply awesome. Don't ever make a DLC where we can't take them for the ride.
Finally, I suppose one could complain about the choice not really making a significant difference at the end, but I personally didn't mind, though that may be due to way I was playing and how things turned out how I wanted.

Tallis is predictably brilliant. More please.
Mixture of talk'y stuff and combat was great. Think the stealth needs refining, but please do continue with this line of thinking. A more varied pace and palette of activities is so much more preferable than fight after fight.
Writing was especially brilliant. Quips and characters really shone through. And the moral compass wasn't so polarised as in DA2 Vanilla. Far more crossroads choices on the dialogue wheel... Yes, yes, yes! I actually found myself thinking about what my Hawke would say, as opposed to just clicking top/middle/bottom depending on whether I was playing nice/sarky/mean Hawke.
Waves- super hidden
This is definitely a direction for the franchise I can get behind.

The stealth area was a nice breath of fresh air, it's not perfect but I would love to see things like it in future DA things. The banter was again, extremely well done and the party section was outstanding minus one little issue. Overall, it was well worth the wait, great job Bioware.

Yeah, you do that. You wait for more "honest" feedback, which of course you won't find here because we're all lying about how good this DLC is...

Mhhh. Maybe someone who thought DA2 was very disappointing but liked Legacy ? I think I'll wait to see more opinions from people I feel closer to me.
Yeah, its hard to judge too much of the reactions from most of the people here on the DLC considering many of those people enjoyed DA2 anyway. Seeing as the most likely people to buy DLC for a 7 month old game are those people that greatly enjoyed the base game anyway.

Let me save you the wait, you would hate it just like everything else DA2 related that you already hate.

Amazing DLC, great story, great, and much, dialog and a lot of humor mixed in it, I laughed my ass off with my Tallis, Varric and Isabela party (4 rouges FTW)
Some nice sidequests and great puzzels, some were pretty easy but the flip puzzels were great
Beautiful environments, specially outside it looked amazing, as did Tallis btw (too bad she was just a temp character because I really liked her, I hope we will see more of her)
The boss fight with Prosper/Leopold was the best fight in Dragon Age, it looked epic and had a nice change of pace.
The addition of the stealth to the game was imo a good choice, It's always nice to have something different to the constant straight on combat, I really hope you guys will develop it further
The only setback: Why did you have to make the cook look so much like my Hawke?!?! it was almost like looking in a mirror:bandit:
Really (one of) the best DLC
Great job Bioware and Felicia Day!

For some reason I was under the impression Tallis was going to have access to both Dual Wield and Archery, it might of been me misreading something, but none the less I was stuck with a 3 Melee 1 Ranged team which became a little difficult with some fights.
While the story was a little simple it was very engaging, I was laughing my head off at some of the sarcastic responses (especially the bee sting) the party dialogue was humourous, and the cameos at the party were nice.
The Stealth Gameplay was pretty fun, reminded me of Metal Gear Solid and I was half-expecting a Card Board Box joke somewhere.
Combat was amazing and I really hope to see more of these kinds of fights in future DLC and games. The final boss was lots of fun (Though I had some slowdown with the final bosses AOE attacks even playing on minimum settings, something I didn't have in Legacy or the regular game)
Looking forward to see more of Tallis, maybe as a possible party member

Well, I thought Legacy was an improvement (albeit only slightly) over DA2. I suppose the kind of changes I'd like to see for DA are too much for any DLC to address.
