Late to the party, I know.

Here are my impresssions of the Mark of the Assasin DLC:

1) Really, really great story, characters, and dialogue.
2) No re-used areas. It was nice to see outside areas to be explored.
3) Tallis was as not as great in combat as I first thought. However, it was partly my own fault as I chose the wrong abilities for her when leveling her up. Tallis, however, I did grow on me characterwise and dialougewise etc. during the playing of the DLC. Especially her story and her background were really interesting...

The best:

The two branching choices in the story - to fight or to go into stealth and to continue with Tallis or without Tallis.

The worst:
The fights and the combat.

Although the fights require the best strategic and tactics combat,I've seen in a Bioware game for a long time, they are still ridicilous unbalanced. The normal fights are sort of easy (though they require plaiing as well) while the boss fights are very hard to fight. Especially the fight against either the alpha wyvern or the normal wyvern.

I especially liked that when Tallis and my female Hawke got trapped, and out into jail, Tallis rescued them all by herself. And when the two boys showed up, they looked like lost little boys - which, in fact, they were.

Also, the last boss battle lingered on for 1½-2 hours or more. It consisted of three phases - with no possibility of saving between. Not cool, Bioware. Not all of us has the patience or time to have a last battle lasts this long. Also, there were no signs of this when returning to the ruins from the sundermount top - that the battle would last for this long....

At the end, I chose 'give my the scroll' option expecting something like 'please give me the scroll for safekeeping.' I did not expect the line, Hawke said. (hand it over, being a part of the sentence....) No indication was given that this was to be an agressive stance...

I really enjoyed MotA, it was a nice change of scenery from the dull greys of Kirkwall, everything was so colourful! The storyline was fun too, I think my favourite part was trying to gain access into Chateau during the garden party, the banter and interactions with NPC's whilst playing as humous/witty male Hawke was hilarious!

The end boss fight was also very well executed as well, I loved how the environment in which the battle takes place is used beyond a simple backdrop setting. Having the option to use stealth to sneak around inside the Chateau whilst solving puzzles was a welcome change to fighting waves of enemies. Overall I found the MotA dlc well worth the money.

I enjoyed it, and most of the reasons have been hashed and rehashed. Points that stick out:

No recycled areas, that was refreshing.

The stealth sequence was great, even though I initially sucked at it.

Puzzles, I like things that make me think.

It won't. It'll just mean Varric never told Cassandra the story.

Late to the party, but better late than never.

Liked it for the most part. My only criticism of it is for Tallis herself as she is protected from up on high by the writer's. Which means that the PC is powerless to do anything about her, or even question her debatable beliefs . By the end of MoTA all i want is to get the list off her or stick the murder knife in the back of her head and i am denied the satisfaction of this as i get the impression someone may want to make use of this character again, not entirely sure why this should be case as Tallis doesn't impress. With Tallis being protected it sadly serves to exacerbate one of the problems with the main game as the PC is ultimately  powerless and ineffectual and can't have any influence over anything from the deaths of family members to the whole mage templar business.
The VA for Tallis is very much a fish out of water and is at odds with the rest of the voice cast, who sound British, Welsh and Scottish or at least they mange to sound it.The VA for Tallis sounds liks she belongs in another DLC.
Hindsight being the wonderful thing that it is. It would have being better if this had being cancelled and not 'The Exalted March' as a conclusion to the PC story should have taken precedent over this particular dlc. But whats done is done. If Tallis is to come back can she at least be day one dlc so at least i as a consumer have the option for her not to be there and don't have to endure that awful voice again. It would have being great if she disappeared instead of the PC having to suffer that indignity once again.I would honestly prefer to play as Hawke again, than see that smug elf comeback.

I've predicted Tallis will be in DA3. That may be why she is protected.
