Just a reminder to keep spoilers out of this forum, please.

Couldn't a mod move it to a spoilers forum? It would seem that a feedback thread would probably include spoilers anyway; it can be difficult to offer examples for opinions without spoiling something.

Anyways, great DLC. Lasted me more than twice as long as Legacy.

A terrible risk. But the prize.

I imagine that, short of putting femHawke in a walk-in closet with a selection of outfits to choose from, there's probably nothing we could have put her in that wouldn't have been considered ugly to someone. And even then, probably.

And I thought the suit looked pretty good on a female PC, anyhow. The taffeta would've been better, of course, especially if we could add a rustle-rustle noise whenever she walked around.

But you're being disingenuous, surely that's obvious? Nobody is asking for "a walk-in closet with a selection of outfits to choose from." We're asking for a similar proportion of resources that are spent on NPCs. I don't think any girl gamer is unaware of the fact that we're always going in second place. Because of our market share, obviously male Hawke will get the art resources first.

What I object to is being in third place, behind an NPC. I object to the fact that the art resources were spent on a non player character before they were spent on girl gamers. Tallis got a whole new outfit customized to her figure. Fem!Hawke had to make do with the male Hawke's leftovers, awkwardly fitted to her. That's not right. It does basically tell female gamers (and those male gamers who like to pilot female PCs) that we rank behind the AI in terms of priority.

This reminds me of the dozens of silk dresses I'd use for my PC in Morrowind. Never mind that they stayed stock stiff, I did miss the rustle-rustle noise, now that you mention it.

Ok heres my feedback

First let me say thanks for the forest!! Its one of things I missed in DA:2. The forest/greenery were absolutely beautiful and seeing the Chateau in the distance on the mountain just made it more wonderful.

Stealth was so much fun!!!!!! I really hope this is utilized in the next game. It was truly fun to incapacitate and distract and was a refreshing change from killing. I also liked how it made me watch the guards and to truly try to sneak with the perfect timing.

Really enjoyed the lore, the banter.... and I had to laugh when my team got wiped out by the Sky Cult. I really enjoyed having to use tactics for it. The Third try was the charm.

Puzzles were really fun. I enjoyed the challenge and the rune one was especially fun since it required all the party members.

I really liked playing with Tallis and her skills were interesting to play and experiment with. The knife throwing is a MUST HAVE!!!

I ended up killing her a lot early on because I had a bit of trouble switching back and forth with her skills but I eventually got the hang of it.

I really hope we see Tallis again! I really enjoyed the character.

Mark of Assassin made me want to squash every single Orlesian though. I also gained a better understanding of the Qunari.

Looking forward to the next DLC.

But yeah, I think most of us would have liked to have seen our female characters get at least the same kind of attention from the art department that the NPC got.

NPC = Felicia Day = Star
Hawke = gamer = 1 of a million (or more)

Starpower gets the goods.

Is that really out of line? Really?

I liked the outfit and I just assumed it was logical for the purpose of sneaking.

I intend to try my hand at a Cosplay with it because it looks fairly simple. :wizard:

You know, I just find myself sort of baffled. Who decided that girl gamers don't care about clothes? Isn't BioWare supposed to be the company that has a record percentage of women on-staff? Were none of them around to speak up and provide a clue, when the whole "awww, the girls won't care if they don't get nice clothes for the party" idea was floated?

Maybe they were all on holiday.

Someone needs to post a video of Hawke's amazing Jokester line:

Tallis: Hawke eats pieces of scum like you for breakfast.
Hawke: Yes, but ONLY... *glare* ...when we're out of pancakes.

Say what you will about DAII's game design and whatnot, but the writers are the funniest available in game development. Seriously. The ME parody, the self-aware dialogue with Merrill complaining about spending a "ridiculous amount of time in Kirkwall"... It's all so great. Delicious, even.

Don't take it personally. They aren't telling you anything about the well adjusted, female gamer. The secret is that they're telling you far more about the average male gamer - deperate computer nerd who wants his Tellis to look as much like the real Felicia Day (hence the figure hugging clothing), because thats as close as many are going to get to intereacting with a real, live woman.

That works if I and TeenZombie turn out to be the only BioWare customers who feel bad about being shafted. Otherwise, we're talking a major demographic.

I guess we'll see.

Hmmm, I never really cared about the clothing I figure Hawks never going to wear a dress in a situation where there may be a need to fight or move fast anyway.
And I liked the DLC, loved the puzzles, got annoyed by stealth and loved some of the banter, esp a cut-scene between Fenris and Anders.
But I really really couldn't like Tallis, from her entrance to he other cut-scenes she was a blatant Mary-Sue in the pure way she was supposedly better than your party members, she got all the recognition etc etc, Personally I would have preferred her out of the party and just appearing occasionally rather than have to deal with her. ahh well I'll still replay it but am already looking forward to the next DLC

Okay, I'm just saying.

My husband just got home from work, and the first thing he said (knowing how excited I was about Mark of the Assassin) was, "hey, how's the new DLC?"

So I start explaining to him about how disappointed I am. I get to the part where I say, "and I guess they decided that girls don't care about having nice clothes for a party --"

He interrupts. "Wait. Are they married? Do they have girlfriends?"

"They do!" I say. "And more importantly, they have women on staff!"

"Were they all stricken down by a terrible fever? Have they been replaced by pod aliens?"

"I don't know," I say. "I don't know."

Uh-huh. I wasn't suggesting you were asking for a walk-in closet, but rather that even if we did put Tallis' outfit on the player instead, there would still be people like yourself complaining about it. And if we did do that, then what would Tallis wear? We had limited resources and needed to make sure both Tallis and the PC had something that wasn't armor to wear to the party.

You thought it wasn't pretty enough. Got it. Trying to make this about "girl gamers being put third" is silly, however. You're not all girl gamers-- there were, in fact, women on our staff who weren't at all on holiday nor stricken by a terrible fever and thought the outfit looked just fine. Frankly, it's a little insulting to suggest otherwise.

And, to be non-disingenuous, if that's your biggest complaint, I think we'll be able to sleep at night.

And if me and the other poster are the only people complaining, you SHOULD sleep well.

On the other hand, if you get a lot of other voices chiming in, I hope you'll revisit your assumptions, and be able to say "well this thing that I didn't think was important, apparently IS important to a lot of our customers."

I'll stop posting now, and see if other people care about costume choices for their PC.

Seriously, was it too much to expect that Fem!Hawke might get a nice dress? You couldn't spend AT LEAST the same amount of time on her that you spent on the NPC's fashion?

Indeed, the DLC was great but the biggest fail was female Hawke ugly dress at party. :-(

That, and in a way also that I couldn't take something [indirectly] priceless *no spoilers cough cough* for myself from Tallis (by force if needed) in the end. The option was there even just not successful. I don't think it would impact the future story at all if Hawke would be allowed to actually grasp it but it could picture him cool for us wicked people who make him (in my case her :-)) a cold-blooded villain. ;-)

Well of course, that goes without saying!  It's just girls who shouldn't wear dresses :wizard:

Definitely was worth the ten dollars I spent. The DLC took me at least four to five hours to complete, and I loved every bit of it, save a few details here and there. The storyline was interesting for the most part, and the dialog was definitely entertaining. Though I must say, most of the cameos felt shoe-horned; I would've loved to see more done with a certain someone at the party. The way she addressed Tallis made me think her role was a bit bigger than a dinner-guest, like she'd been sent to intervene with the break-in. Other than that, however, nothing really bad to be said about MotA.

Also, just throwing this out there: that DLC had me dying with laughter at a few scenes. Dying. Nug-calls. Hahahaha.

Overall, I really enjoyed the DLC.

Pros:

Tallis was an excellent party member overall
Excellent level and character design.
Very well done story.
Great party dialogue.

Cons:

Didn't like the stealth gameplay at all.
Didn't care for the armor set (reused skin, and no leveling Image IPB). I would have expected something more "Orlesian" looking (like the armor in Warrior Pack I).
One of the characters was *spoiler'd* off in a very anticlimactic manner.

Meh, don’t speak for me. It doesn’t tell me anything of the sort. It was such a miniscule thing really, imo. You really think an outfit for femhawke should be a priority?
