Some of you may have seen that in addition to the trailer at the end of Captain America, we have a new trailer out for Marvel's upcoming film The Avengers.  And it is awesome.  We get a nice little peak at the tensions between the diffrent heroes, especially Captain America and Iron Man.

I admit, I am looking foward to this movie more than I have anything since Star Wars Episode 1.

First time I've watched a trailer for a Scarlet Johansen movie and thought "That looks like it might be good..."

Well, let's face it, it isn't a vehicle for Scarlet Johansen.  She's part of an ensamble, not the centerpiece.

And it has Joss Wheadon writing/directing.  And RDJ and co.

Great trailer, love the bit of dialogue between Cap and Tony Stark in the trailer:
“Big man in a suit of armour. Take that away, and what are you?
“Uhm, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist…”

Excellent trailer. I haven't bothered to watch any of the movies these characters are drawn from, but that trailer made me interested in seeing *this* one. The catatonic comic book geek in me couldn't help rise for a brief squee. Pretty amazing that after years of laying down groundwork it's going to happen.

A shame Nolan's Batman movies are the only worthwhile DC film franchise. I'd love to see a Justice League too.

I don't know. I really liked Tim Burton's Batman from the late 80s. I like Nolan's Batman films more, but Burton's was superb as well.

I enjoyed Batman 1989 and Batman Returns too. Batman Forever not so much. And the less written of Batman and Robin the better. Not that Burton had any hand in those two. What I was referring to earlier were currently relevant DC superhero movies. Other than Nolan's movies the rest are... bad. To put it mildly.

I'm of the opinion that we never escaped that "slump" in the superhero film genre. Sure, we have good ones now and then, but by and large, the majority are lame.

Apart from X-Men Last Stand and Daredevil the Marvel films have all been good. DC not so much except for the Nolan Batman films.

Ang Lee's Hulk, Elecktra, Wolverine, and Spider-Man 3.

But the ones produced by Marvel Studios itself have been really good.  Except maybe for Punisher War Zone.  Haven't seen it, and didn't hear anything good.

And Seagloom, you should check the other Avenger flicks.

I'm still upset they ran off Ed Norton  though.

I noticed the trailer wasn't linked yet so here. (maybe it was but I didn't see)

SOOOOOOOO Awesome. I did notice that they sampled a scene from the first Iron Man when his Mask comes down which leads me to believe his suit up mechanism might be being kept secret, or they just don't wanna spoil too much. Can't wait, I've seen every one of these Marvel studios films at midnight release and I'm sure this one won't disappoint!

He will actually "play" the hulk. Avatar motion capture style. Thats a first for Hulk.

Watching that trailer we se and hear Loki but there is something bigger we dont see. I doubt it would happen but a SKrull invasion where they throw the F4 and Spidy into the mix would shock me.

I have always had my reservastions about Marvel going for this big connected world for their movies but they have been doing it well and the Avengers is a great place to go with it.

I just hope it runs 120-180 minutes. Everyone and everything that will be there they need a lot of time.

I am excited for it even tho there is not Ed Norton there.

OK its been a bit more up and down although IMHO The Hulk is an underrated film and Spider-man 3 is still good just not up to the standard of the first 2.

I'd replace Daredevil with Fantastic Four.

Looks like the budget was huge. Anyways, I'm predicting this will outsell the Dark Knight with how much effort they are putting into it. Superhero movies just aren't good, though. I think the best one I've seen was probably the Batman series with Michael Keaton, and that isn't saying much. D.C. has better animated movies than Marvel, though. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Under the Red Hood is really good.

I was wondering about Loki when I was watching the Trailer, as well...

They wouldn't need the Avengers to deal with just him and the Skrulls came to mind for me as well...

And SOLID_EVEREST: I agree...the DC animated movies are almost always pure gold while the Marvel animated are very hit or miss. I saw Mask of the Phantasm in the Theater when it came out and the opening credits sequence was amazing on a big screen!

It's actually not that much of a first.  Norton did mocap for the Hulk as well.  It's just that this time they are modeling the hulk on Ruffalo's face.

And potential Mega SPOILER ALERT!

Speculation is that Loki's army is indeed made up of Skrulls, and that he has made a deal with none other than Thanos!

They should put Squirrel Girl on the Avengers roster then.

I enjoyed Ang Lee's Hulk, possibly because I kept giggling at "Don't make me Ang Lee. You wouldn't like me when I'm Ang Lee."

Was I the only one who found all three Spiderman films to be awful? Kirsten Dunst was awful, the woman playing Aunt May made me want to puke most of the time and it just didn't feel like Spiderman. There wasn't enough wise cracking and too much looking like an idiot. Toby Maguire was an ok Peter Parker but I dunno, Spiderman himself just didn't feel right.

X-Men first class is probably the best one I've seen yet. I've seen everything except Thor which I might get tonight on pay-per-view but I'm not sure I like the look of it.

Looks pretty good. In retrospect Captain America and Thor were entertaining but not on the same level as Iron Man. I am most interested in seeing Hawkeye in action. Hope his character has a decent amount of screen time.

^^^ Lol. Many will not get this.

The trailer looks pretty good, but I've never been a fan of Johansen's acting abiltiy. I hate how badass women are all of the same mold in Hollywood.
