I am not sure of this is the right forum in which to post this, but here goes.

Background: I used to live in the United States, and Bioware account was created when I lived in the US. Now, I reside in Germany.

Problem: I recently tried to add Bioware Points so I could purchase some DLC for Dragon Age 2. I used my US credit card, but there was an error with the transaction. Do I need to use a German credit card in order to purchase Bioware points? (Maybe the server recognizes that I am connecting from the EU or something.)

Thank you!

Buying Bioware Points doesn't work for me too - german Credit Card. Some internal error NUxxxxx at the end mentioning possible cancel at 3rd party site, but it doesn't led anywhere. So no money for Bioware...

That is the exact same error that I get. Maybe Bioware is having some problem with their German servers....

I guess we will have to wait and see....

There is an issue with our servers and we're currently investigating. We believe the issue has now been corrected. Our current belief is that this is due to high levels of traffic EA is seeing for the FIFA launch.

If this issue is still occurring for you, please post to this thread.

I'm still getting the error message: An error occurred while processing your request. If you canceled your purchase at the third party payment website, this error is expected. Code: NU2001

I just proceeded as I've done before with previous dlc

BTW I'm in Argentina

As of 14:57 MST in Wyoming, I am still unable to purchase Bioware points. Trying to buy points for the PC platform.

Here's the error message:
An error occurred while processing your request. If you canceled your purchase at the third party payment website, this error is expected. Code: NU2010

Edit: added to say that I'm trying to purchase in US from a US address with a US credit card.....

Another edit: wanting to see if it was an issue with using a credit card directly, it appears it is. I tried purchasing through PayPal and it worked just fine. Wish I had tried this sooner, I've been spending 4 angsty hours trying to get points added to my account.

This issue appears to have cleared up yesterday afternoon, thanks to some changes we made on the back end. If anyone is still unable to purchase BioWare points, please post here or send me a private message.

Thanks!

I got bioware points about 2 hours ago. I decided I wanted 400 more, and now the purchase repeatedly errors out on the last step.  US resident of Texas, using a US credit card.

EDIT:  It's finally succeeded, 1 hour later.  The servers are likely very loaded.

I'm still getting the error. No bioware point happiness. U.S. in CT, using U.S. card. Very sad. :((

I decided to try PayPal and it worked perfectly. I believe the  error was mine as there was a different number in PP for my card. ::blush::. My apologies.

A couple of days out, and I am still getting the error code NU2010 when I try to check-out. I am living in Germany, but I am using my US credit card. Any help?

Any solution in the works?

If there is, it might appear first in the forum that is specifically FOR the subject of problems with POINTS, rather than a game forum.

We're continuing to investigate the NU2010 error code, which appears to be the only remaining issue people are experiencing with point downloads. In the meantime, try switching payment providers (use PayPal rather than credit card and vice versa) to see if that resolves the issue for you.

Thanks,
Rob

I'm getting NU2001... and Origins store payment auth failed.

Edit: Yes, NU2001, not 2010, but 2001.

Don't forget. These forums were intended for gamer to gamer communication; Bioware's presence is only occasional, and irregular. We ordinary gamer types can't help with your problem, or most any that do involve paying for anything. This forum is about the game, not the web site, not the points.

It looks like the NU2010 error is primarily occurring in cases where you've made a large number of EA purchases within a short period of time (which can raise eyebrows at the credit card companies, apparently). Give it a day or two to cool down and I'm told it should correct itself.

Nyxia, as for the inability to load a credit card, I know I had trouble with an unrelated PayPal purchase recently because the expiry date on my credit card was approaching and I hadn't yet received and activated my new ones. It's a shot in the dark but it could be something like that.

Hope that helps,
Rob

Not the NU2010 error in my case, but the general, vague "An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later" with Paypal and "We're sorry, but we can't perform transactions to this credit card. Please load a different one" with credit card, basically the same issues as reported months ago on this thread:

http://social.biowar...9/index/6020556

Both Paypal account and card are Canadian and I am attempting the points purchase from overseas. And in the case of the more costly alternative from the Origin store, I've run into the same predicament as PussTheMabar describes in the most recent comment in the thread:

"Ah, I'm facing that same problem now. Worse, am overseas now and the origins site automatically redirects to the region you're in, even limiting the country of your billing address. Arghhhh. Am going to retry later and hope for the best."

Best they be prompt in solving this.

As I thought! When I edited my billing address information by simply changing the name of the proper country to that of the one where I am currently located, I was able to continue on to the Paypal website. The general error I and others have been seeing is a result of the system detecting that a connexion does not originate from the country named in the billing address.

So what then? Is there no way by which the Bioware payment system can accomodate those of us who wish to make our purchases from abroad?

(Incidentally, I've noticed the very same problem with Steam.)

Thanks, affandi. I'll raise that particular issue internally, both here and at EA, and see if there's anything we can do about it.

FYI - There are two different ways to buy points. One is through EA's Origin service and the other is via Lockbox here on the social site (https://social.biowa...?dest=addpoints). Is this overseas credit card issue occurring on one or both?

Thanks,
Rob

Mr Bartel, in regards to the error message, the problem is occurring on Lockbox. The problem with Origin however, is that given where I am presently, neither Canada nor the United States actually appears in the country drop-down list to select when providing the site with a billing address. (So I have not managed to check in the case of Origin whether inputting a country other than that from where your connexion originates results in a problem.) Lockbox, however, does provide you with the option of selecting a North American country, but will then produce an error when it detects that your signal originates elsewhere.

Re: Lockbox, it looks like with the Paypal option the problem has now been fixed, except for a new one in its place. Now you can progress to the Paypal site, but the purchase requires a bank account to be associated with your Paypal account (associated credit card alone will not work), and so one ends up back on the Bioware page with an NU2010 error.

The credit card route still suffers from the same original problem vis a vis 'load a different card' error due to ISP address originating from another country. Do with credit card payment options whatever you've already done to remove the lock and allow for Paypal payments from abroad to continue normally and with any luck that should fix it.

Interesting. I've just given it another try with Paypal and everything worked...and then a third try immediately after that (I needed to make a second purchase of points) and we're back to Paypal's requesting adding a bank account, and the NU2010 error. I'll continue to try to make that one last purchase go through and perhaps then I can wash my hands of the whole affair.
