Hello there.
I've just bought Mark of the Assassin, but when downloading it, i get abysmal download speed. I've been downloading for an hour, and chrome tells me it'll take another 10.
Do anyone else have that problem?

I'm in sweden and i got a 100 Mbit line, and other things download just fine.

Cheers

Yep I've been downloading for about an hour and barely have over 150 megs downloaded. Tried restarting the download but no luck.

Going to be done faster than 10 hours though for me, sorry to hear yours is going that slow! :(

I believe the latest FIFA just launched in Europe so the EA servers are probably getting hammered right now. Please bear with us.

15 hours for me. :P  Sweden here, too. Can't remember Legacy taking this much time. Hopefully, it will finish during the night. :)

Thanks for reporting back, smitemouth. There was apparently some network trouble in Amsterdam that was having a significant impact and has now been corrected. If anyone's still experiencing excessive download times, please let us know.

Hi Rob,
i am having a terrible time downloading the DLc, i know that we have a slow internet connection (middle of nowhere in the uk it is slow) but its been showing as 54 hours, 27 hours and on an earlier attempt 72 hours. for the moment i have given up trying to download it. i know fifa came out yesterday in europe (or so i heard) and everyone is trying to either download that or MotA so i expected it to take a while. Any ideas why it is this bad?

Still not downloading for me. It'll go terribly slow and then time out - I haven't got anymore than about 20MB, and I've been trying for 24hrs.

Australia on a 6mbps line. I never experienced this on a Bioware DLC before.

Ouch. No, there's clearly something still wrong.

Users having trouble with their downloads are encouraged to perform a traceroute to na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com and post the results to this thread (or send it to me in a private message). That should tell us what servers you're hitting and help us narrow down any remaining problems.

Thanks!

Rob,

I've managed to solve my problem by downloading the installer at work instead of at home. It's coming in at 1.3 - 1.5MBps. I'll run a traceroute at home this evening (only just got to work) and let you know.

Thanks.

Thanks, Daveros. In the meantime, I'm glad you've found a workaround.

I am also battling to download the dlc. I tried three times. The first 2 died at 55mb then the last about halfway. I tried to resume it and instead it said finished? I know it was not finished as the info only said about 500mb or so but not 1.2 GB.

This is the only dlc giving me a problem. Yesterday I download Arrival for Mass Effect 2 fine. The others as well.

I am from South Africa.

Hi. I tried that but it won't let me copy the results. How do I copy the results? I am using windows 7 64 bit.

Edit: I finally got it downlaoded and installed correctly as well.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the traceroutes, everyone. I've respondedprivately to every one I've received. After double-checking the the various servers and files and running some test downloads, our download service providers found and corrected a handful of hardware failures on their end but, for the most part, everything's been functioning correctly. There are one or two anomalous cases they're still investigating.

Going back and forth with users, most have been able to correct their download issues on their end through one of the following means:
  • tweaking their firewall settings
  • rebooting their router/modem
  • selecting "run" rather than "save" in the download popup
  • attempting via a landline rather than a wireless connection
  • downloading the file onto a thumbdrive at work, at a friend's place, etc., and transferring it onto their Dragon Age machine that way.
Also, if your download is completing but the resulting file appears to be corrupt, you can perform an MD5 checksum on it to confirm whether or not that's actually the case. Both Apple and Microsoft have md5checksum
tools available:The MD5 checksum data for an intact file should be as follows:
  • DA2_MarkOfTheAssassin.exe (Windows) =78f72cbb88a9374488dc2cf64574d5ea
  • DA2_MarkOfTheAssassin.dmg (Mac) = 5f79222f02987a445fb58879012f52ec
If you need further help with any of this, please get in touch with our customer service department via http://help.dragonage.com/ .

Hope that helps,
Rob
