Easy.
Cheese: Put in the least amount (click once for three slices)
Fish: Put in a middling amount.
That other one starting with N: Put in the most. Just keep clicking.

Read the recipe and just try to interpret it logically

Is there really an exact amount of ingredients to put inside or is it just more fish than cheese, and more navets then everything else. I've been trying again and again with no succes...

I don't believe there is an exact amount, it's all to do with the ratio of ingredients.
Cheese must be least.
Navets the most.
Fish in between.
However, be careful of your clicking. Note that one click of cheese is Three Parts. One click of fish is (IIRC) Two Parts. One click of Navet is only One Part. So you only need to click cheese once, Fish at least twice, and Navets lots of times to succeed.

GOSH. I know why it didn't work. I was being logical and thought that I had to put ingredients separately in the Mixture pot ( Well thats like that that I cook IRL
). And the solution was to put everything in my hands !!! WTF !!!
. Looks like guys at Bioware don't cook often

Well, at least they taught me what a navet is.
(French for 'turnip'!)

What is the reward for completing this quest? I think I'm too far past this point to backtrack, and I don't want to reload unless it's really worth it.

Not much, something like 300 Xp.
Yes Shadow, turnips are called Navets in France. Actually, thats something that really makes me crack. I'm french, and although I almost dont have french accent when I speak english, a LOT of french people have this "Orlesian" accent when they speak. I can't help but smile when I hear "Orlesian" speaking. xD

@stephen_dedalus - It will help you later in the DLC. I couldn't think of any other reason why a quest to poison your host's pet would be there.
Unless you're metagaming, hate the Duke or have something against Leopold, there's no RP reason to do this quest.
@captmaturin - Hah! You must speak English well then
Lots of people have trouble with accents.

The foreshadowing was clear; I was inquiring about more immediate rewards (xp, $, items).
@captmaturin: Thank you.

While the exact amount may not matter I have a solution that definitely works in my thread along with the solutions to several other puzzles.

The tricky part for me was realizing that you can't add the ingredients one at a time. If you attempt to do so, the mixture will be reset after each ingredient you put in.
