Can someone please help with this? It's probably the most simple thing to do, but I cannot for the life of me get past the guards towards the very end of this part in the game. I'm at the very left corner of the map and there's about five guards total. I cannot for the life of me get past them.

I will try - hopefully I will not confuse things too much. What worked for me was follow the "outer" perimeter.
Stand by the stairs not too close and check the two guards that are patrolling, when the one on the right turns toss a rock to distract the guard at the entrance (near the end of the detection area as close as possible to the balcony) then sneak by them by going straight and hide in the nook at the end. From here observe the two guards again and toss a rock to distract the one closer to you when it is at the opposite end - at the point both should be looking away from you. Go straight to the corner and turn in the alcove, loot the chest then distract the guard by the stairs (looking at the other guard) by tossing a rock near the opening where you sneaked by. Go straight and knock the other guard off and get the key (the timing here is tight) then sneak around to the door.
There is another chest in the alcove by the door - you can sneak by the guards and loot it at the end but IIRC there is nothing special in it.

I've found the two keys to get up to where the 4 guards are, but I need one more key myself. I'm guessing we're at the same spot. There's a chest I can see, but no way to reach it.

Key to this is just keep trying. I had multiple reloads before getting past. I think I know what chest you're after.
Tips:
Try to avoid standing in or walking through direct light as much as possible. You will get spotted *very* easily.
If there is a shadowy path to a destination and a guard in it, distract the guard out of that shadowy path.
Timing is almost everything.

Thanks for the help. I got past the guards and finished the game with all 5 achievements unlocked.

this is the one thing that med me turn the game off. not in a bad way but more "i need to come back to this with a clear head and try again"

If they're in an open space, use your rocks. If they have their back to you, whack em over the head.
You can also run around most of them, if you stick to the shadows.
