I thought goblins were pretty creepy in Oblivion, and they had an actual society and stuff.  Creepy would be fine.  These chattering lizard monkeys, I'm not so sure about.  I was thinking this was supposed to be a dark, mature type of fantasy. (*ba dump bump*)

I'd enjoy something like this, tbh.

I do wish Bioware had thrown in other animals for the player to see. The lack of wildlife killed some of the livelihood of the hunt. Which isn't to say it didn't feel alive. It just didn't feel as alive as it should've. Like I would've liked to see:

Actually...except for birds and a different dog breed than mabari, I disagree on needing more wildlife for MotA (or at the hunt section, at least). Animals tend to run away from lots of humans tramping around making noise. Maybe if we saw a few in inaccessible tree areas, but having them frolic in the open where hunters and dogs are walking around would have made no sense.

The section after escaping from the chateau caves could have used some animals, though it became obvious pretty quickly the area was rife with Orlesians, Qunari, ghasts and wyverns. :P

So I guess everything was killed for the feast. And nugs, which were supposedly exterminated from the Free Marches for being 'toxic', still exist in the wild and come to the surface often enough for wyverns to eat.

That's kinda what I wanted, but I also wanted to maybe see the hunters -- maybe background hunters anyway -- hunting these other animals as well (maybe for practice or for a sheer want of the kill). Though I really wanted a scene with Merrill finding more halla and talking to them and bringing them to the Dalish on Sundermount. That would've been nice to see.

Though knowing them, they'd probably think they were carnivorous halla cursed by blood magic just because Merrill brought them.

Lousy ingrates....

Shooting a deer on the run or something as a scripted event could have been neat, sure. :) I don't know if Bioware's going to go to the trouble of modelling a creature that's not going to feature in combat, though. :/ They'd probably think it's too much work for a bit of ambiance.

Hahaha. :)

Nice idea with the halla (if you accounted the the possibility the tribe is dead and scripted it differently to compensate). Considering how much coin the antlers of those things go for though, I'm dubious about how many would exist near a noble's estate...of course, if you can find no fewer than three near-extinct wyverns, I guess anything's possible. ;)
