So this may be bad, but I didn't want to search thorugh all the pages to find an answer.

I just realized I never recieved the Deep Green bonus item after completing the MotA DLC. I have seen two sources that says you needed to claim item by November 1 (the Dragon Age Wiki) and a forum here that had a picture saying it needed to be completed by October 26. I'm sure that as soon as I completed the DLC, I stayed up late in order to finish, I thought I had claimed the item.

My achievements are all synced to my profile here and I'm pretty sure I complted the DLC before November 1 (if that was the case) but I still don't see it in the 'Unlockables' area on my PS3. When I go to http://social.biowar...da2/mota_bonus/  it says the link has expired. Is there a way to check as to when the DLC was completed?

Or maybed I read a lot of information wrong and I'm just SOL. Which kinda stinks becuase I wanted the bought hence why I bought the DLC.

the only thing i can think of is that it was put into your inventory if you havent checked it...not really sure if it would have came out on the Unlockable area anyway...sides buy and doing the whole DLC for just a ring? thats kinda messed up dont you think? :P

I didn't check when I finished the play thorugh with my current player. I guess I'll look when I play it again.

I wanted to buy it anyways. But the ring was insentive. Lol.

wait i though they already patch the game, how come my game is still corrupt after i continue from an uncorrupted save point? i even disable the auto save since last time i recall they are blaming the auto save for corrupting the savefile.

Dragon Age 2 fail so much.

I just beat the game last night, having completed Legacy and Mark of the Assassin back to back during the Third Act. The game froze once during the beginning of the The Last Straw, but it wasn't a catastrophic failure. Completed the rest of the mission fine. When I tried to resume the game from the Main Menu, it said it was damaged, but when I loaded the Post-Campaign save manually from the Load Game menu it worked fine. Repeat, I have not experienced this corruption. It should be noted that I purchased, installed and played the game entirely after the Patch was released, on a console that had never had corrupted save or install data. I'm not sure if this helps, but it should be known that the corruption is not necessarily a death sentence.

It seems that I am getting corrupted saves while I am very close to the end game. I played through both MotA and Legacy. I finished the main plot after completing the DLC in Act 3.

After the first time I beat the game my post game save was corrupted and every save before that until right before I reached the point of no return for the main plot.

Playing through again I was able to get further, by saving manually and verifying the saves. But I did have to fight the second to last boss three times before I got a good save after the battle. That seems to be the last point at which I can get a good save.

So the corruption is not always happening because I can get good saves out of the process. But it seems to be happening MOST of the time.

Hey all, I really wanted to purchase both Legacy and MotA so I was wondering if anyone actually has both of these and their save was not corrupt? If not, then I'll have to stick to Legacy but otherwise I may risk it.

I don't know if this has been asked and sorry if its been asked many times before but does anyone know if Bioware is planning on fixing this? Odds are they're preoccupied with DA3 and other things but it'd be nice to know they haven't forgotten about DA2.

Well, I finished the game doing every quest in the game and both dlcs. I'll go in order if someone wants to try my way of playing to see if they can recreate a clean PT and post campaign save.

1. Downloaded the story DLC before installing the game. (Exiled Prince>Legacy>Mark of the Assassin
2. Installed the full game.
3. Downloaded the patch before creating a character.
4. Played Legacy in Act 2 after clearing the quest log before launching Demands Of The Qun. Took Carver/Fenris/Varric with me.
5. MotA in Act 3 before doing any Main Quest, I did a few companion quests. Took Carver/Isabela/Tallis. Solved all the puzzles and joined Tallis when you can split up.
6. Finished the game clean through taking 43:17:56 to complete the game with a clean post campaign file.

It never happened to my knowledge before it was released, so it is something breaking the files in MotA, I personally haven't had it happen yet. Though I'm making my second import Hawke now, hope I get lucky again.

Okay I think I've fallen victim to the MotA corruption now as well. Could use some clarification though.I played through MotA nearer the beginning of Act 3 (about 47 ish hours) and made some side saves before and during just in cases the corruption appeared. I managed to finish it with no problems and continued on fine. Now at 67 hours I get a corruption EVERY SINGLE TIME i go into the Deep Roads for the "Finding Nathaniel" quest. Any save before the transition from Kirkwall works fine but as soon as I'm in the Deep Roads saves are no longer viable. I looked around but haven't found any indication that this quest causes any game breaking save bugs so I'm assuming MotA just seems to have chosen this particular transition to cause the game to be unplayable. The only working saves I now have are one directly after finishing MotA and the Year Seven checkpoint save at the beginning of the act. Would it even be worth trying to use the first one or should I just uninstall the DLC and use the save from the beginning of Act 3?

MOTA bug issues: Newb here at bioware social. Started replaying DAO up to DA 2 - finished Legacy with no problems, got up to the Last Straw but wanted to play MOTA before the climax. Corrupt save file error popped up after saving during MOTA.

So I replayed without saving so maybe when it finishes and gets back to Hawke's house it'll clear it up but it did the same thing on the save after it. Turned off autosave- still didn't work. I also notice the Messenger armor was missing from loot from solving all 3 Vault puzzles. The one time I felt a bit of hope was when I was able to click on the love letter clicking issue but that was about it.

So I went to EA live chat -they told me to uninstall the whole game including all dlc's, restart my ps3 and reinstall everything. Did not work.

I'm still able to play the previous save file before the Last Straw but the MOTA bug experience is killing it for me. The EA rep says delete all the save files, but no, not another 47 hours of finding everything again please. I've been reading blogs all over for fixes but I guess mostly everyone here have the same issues.

I'm surprised at Bioware/EA not able to come up with new update patches to fix this in a long time and I just started replaying the game after a year.

I haven't even played ME3 yet. Does anyone else here have any other possible fixes for this? Maybe play all the way through MOTA up to the ending without a break to save? Will it have a valid post save at least? Open to any suggestions.

The only thing that has worked for anyone was to keep trying to get a functioning postgame save by replaying the last quest from right before the bugged save over and over until the postgame save works.  But that has only worked for a few.  I personally haven't found a way for my saves immedately after entering the area where you fight the circle leader (can't think of his name atm) to not turn out corrupted.

The problem is that Bioware hasn't been able to reproduce the bug so they're stumped at fixing it and those that have got nailed at it haven't been able to provide much help because no one has been able to figure out the definite cause for it other then that it has to do with the dlc's.

I discovered a curious thing. I have played through this game twice. The first time, I played MOA(but not Legacy), and was able to solve it just fine. However, in that save file, my sibling was dead. The second time I played the game, I was able to save her by making her a Grey Warden, played through MOA no problem, played through Legacy no problem, then I went to the Gallows for my end game. I played almost all the way to the end(I chose to side with the templars just to get the trophy, and in the process, I killed Anders), I killed Orsinio, then I realized my save was corrupted.

So, I loaded a previous save where I was in lowtown, just before I entered the docks. When I entered the docks, my save gets corrupted. So, I tried again. Same thing. I tried again. Same thing. I tried a third time. Guess what? Yup, same thing. In all those instances, Bethany approached me in Lowtown, and I chose to take her along with me. So, then I decided to reject her help. I enterd the docks once more with Varric instead of Bethany, and guess what? My save works fine now. The corruption bug definitely has something to do with the sibling, and I had heard of this happening to people, but they all mentioned that it happened in the Gallows. I'm wondering if it corrupts earlier than that, like, say, the docks. Curious thing.

I posted this over at Gamefaqs, but thought I would post it here.

Look, I don't know if I might be posting this too soon, especially since I haven't had a chance to fully test it. But I'm excited, and I'll tell you why.

First, a little explanation. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, the save game corruption bug usually occurs when you play MOTA or Legacy or both, and it usually occurs at different places, where the save data corrupts, and can't be loaded. It's usually thought to coincide with taking your sibling through the DLC, having them leave with character specific DLC item pack accessories and weapons, and then having them join back in the party. This has been thought to have corrupted the save files. There is a huge discussion about it at the bioware site, and no one has been able to pinpoint the cause, even the Bioware employees, who released a patch, which fixed absolutely nothing.

For my first game, I played through, my sibling died in the deep roads, I played MOTA, but not Legacy, and was able to solve it no problems without anything corrupting. For my second game, my sibling lived, I played through MOTA without a glitch, continued on all the way through the third act, completed Legacy, and, when Bethany approached me in Lowtown, I gladly accepted her help. When I left Lowtown and entered the docks, my save corrupted. So, hm. So, the next time, when she approached me, I refused her help, and entered the docks. No save corruption. So far, so good. However, when I entered the Gallows, my save corrupted. I was pissed.

So, for $19.99, sent to an account of my choosing, I can tell you all the secrets. Ok, I'm kidding!

Has it ever occured to anyone that it doesn't have anything at all to do with the DLC's or the siblings? I could be wrong, but this is what I did. I did some research. On a wikipedia site, I found out that what was happening that when the save files approach the 31 save limit, especially when you overwrite them, the save file corrupts. So, I went and deleted all the saves I didn't need, started my last save up right before I entered the docks with Bethany in my party, and the save didn't corrupt after I entered the docks! Before, it would corrupt every single time, no fail. Now, the test will be what will happen after I enter the Gallows. If it doesn't corrupt, I may have just discovered the reason. This would also explain why it happened in different places under different circumstances, since everyone saves differently.

I mean, I could be off base, but I thought I would throw it out there, in case it helps someone else.

Well...I first made a post about this 9 months ago. I have periodically checked back here to see if any progress was made on fixing this bug. No progress was made. I figure I spent more than $100 on DAI and DAII with all the DLC. That will be the last $100 Bioware/EA ever sees from me. It is just a game...but in most industries if a company sells you a defective product they fix it or give you your money back. Not this industry...so the only thing that we as consumers can do is to make sure that we remember who sold us defective games and not give them our money again. Or as my Granny use to say "Some other fool may come along and give them more money.....but it won't be this fool."
