I figure we should give Felicia Day's character a little love

I have now played MotA and it was amazing. Discuss everything Tallis related, because she and Felicia Day are awesome Posted Image

Everyone should join the Tallis group! It's your duty to the Qun! Also.... she's got your nose. You might want that later.

She's fun and funny and actually deep. They did a great job, and I'm looking forward to seeing Redemption.

I loved Tallis. Can't wait for the next episode of Redemption and hope she appears in future titles.

So Fiona Hawke REALLY loves Tallis.

Plus Ms.Day did a fantastic job, really well done on her part.

Tallis is just another example of there never being a ****ty Rogue character. It is an awesome class for awesome people. I would love her to see her again. My love for Rogues and elves need it.

Yay a Tallis thread!

I effin love Tallis, she has instantly become one of my absolute favorite characters in the game (only below Merrill), and actually of the whole series really.

Flirting with her and getting the kiss at the end was the real prize of the DLC. :D

Look, it's almost like they were holding hands in the courtyard...

Tallis was fantastic because when she spoke about the Qun it actually seemed to me like my Hawke was actually beginning to re-evaluate her position on how she felt about the Qunari and their philosophy after the Arishok had soured her opinion at the end of Act 2.

Throughout Act 2 my Hawke had been respectful of the Qunari and chose the dialogue options where Hawke expresses an interest to understand their beliefs and their culture better to peacefully resolve the conflict, before it spiralled out of control.

Tallis' comments that the Qunari strive to make things the world a better place for everyone actually was very similar to how Hawke expresses a desire to make Kirkwall a better place; tying back into both the Arishok and "Ketojan"'s comments that Hawke is what the Qunari would be without the guidance of the Qun to give them their principles.

She was insanely well written, deep, and had great chemistry with Hawke, it really annoyed me that she couldn't join Hawke at the end, I desperately wanted to see more of her.

I loved Tallis I was bummed I didn't get to keep her with me. Definitely my third favorite character behind Varric and Isabela. Also really enjoyed her in Redemption, looking forward to more of those episodes.

Don't worry, you'll get to see more Tallis when the next episode of redemption comes out... around the same time that Half Life 2 episode 3 comes out, haha!

Best reason for helping ever.

My new found favourite character in the game. There, I said. Yes, that includes Merrill.

I didn't care much for Tallis, though that might be because my anti-Qunari Hawke was unable to anything violent against her or grab the scroll / side with Prosper. Maybe I'll like more her character when I'm not trying to put a knife in-between her eyes.

I liked Tallis, but her word vomit arguments for her Qunari "idealism" was just painful to listen too.

Plus, you couldn't call her out on the whole "so.. mages.. lock them up, remove their tongues, chain them like cattle? Yeah.. I totally see where the Qunari 'could improve.'"

Her humor was fantastic, but her whole outlook makes me think more of the confusion that Sebastian has, which is rather frustrating. The whole reason you even help her is to "save innocents," which in the end could be dangerous Qunari spies. "Oh but they have families, and some aren't even of the QUN!" -- weren't you just saying the guards had families too? So, that makes them "innocent?" Plus, who am I to trust you with such a dangerous list? -- I almost would rather trust Hawke with it -- or destroy it.

In fact -- if she was really trying to protect those people that is exactly what she should have done. Destroy the list -- problem solved. Instead.. she took it. Made little red flags go off.

Still, her personality is great, and I like here very much. I just don't "love" her.

I really enjoyed Tallis' character and loved the back and forth between her and snarkHawke but I would have liked to know how she squares her qunari beliefs and still buddies around with mage Hawke. Like Arquen said Hawke can't even call her on it, my sarcastic Mage who's kind of terrified of the Qunari really wanted to snap at her when she said "You see tyranny I see kindness."
"Oh yes, I'm sure wanting to sew my mouth closed and keep me on a leash like an animal is VERY kind."
As a player I wanted to know how she's a qunari assassin while female... I could kind of see the whole heart of the Qun role as a scholarly, philosophical role being open to women but... so far no word on where she got her combat training... or maybe she's not seen as a woman in the Qun for some reason? Have the gender roles in the Qun been retconned?
I hope that gets explained in the series, I can accept it not coming up in redemption since it never came up in DA2 (or did it? I haven't gotten a FemHawke into act 2, I heard the arishok brings it up if you challenge him? Maybe?)

I totally agree with that.
She may be funny but that doesn't erase the fact that she is a Ben-Hassrath, a Qunari enforcer and indoctrinator.

I am confused as to how Tallis can be Qunari. I thought Qunari women aren't allowed to fight? Or... does Tallis not count as a woman to them because she's not a kossith?

There is a codex entry about the Ben-Hassrath. They recruit both men and women of all races in the Qun, because people seem to trust their own gender/race more and therefore react better on indoctrination efforts.

Every Member of the Qun Has their role defined. The way I see it Non Kossith who are recruited to the Qun inherit the Qunari version of whatever role they were before hand.

You'd have thought Sten would have realised that Leliana was effectively a Tallis rather than going on about how women don't fight.

Tallis was a rather interesting character, and a little bit of her went over my head, but generally I enjoyed her wit and charm, alongside her wavering, yet strong, beliefs.

See that would imply to me that they Ben-Hassrath aren't really a combat role and I think 'Tallis' itself is a title for an assassin, at least it seemed that way from the first episode of the live action drama series...
