I just downloaded Mark of the Assassin and am getting ready to play.
However, after having the same bit of trouble when Legacy released, I'm
trying to decide just who I should bring along with me for the DLC.

Obviously
Tallis takes up one spot, so counting my Hawke that's a Rouge and a
Mage. That leaves Anders, Aveline, Fenris, Isabela, Merill, and Varric
to take the remaining two spots.

In game my party was generally
two mages, a rouge and a warrior(9 times out of 10 being Hawke, Anders,
Aveline, and either Varric or Isabela)

Merill I cross off immediately simply because I prefer other characters over her. Which leaves 5 characters for 2 spots.

Anders
would be an obvious choice as a healer, though I can always use spells
from Hawke and potions to keep my team alive (And, since this DLC isn't
pertaining to the Wardens as Legacy was, I doubt he'll have a lot of
conversation expansion)

Aveline was the warrior I always used, but I'm not sure what dialogue she'd bring to the table in this DLC.

Fenris
I normally never used outside of his missions, but seeing as Tallis is
an elf herself I wasn't sure whether he'd have any extra dialogue.

So
that leaves Varric and Isabela. Varric seems the obvious choice of the
two seeing as he's the storyteller, but Isabela was my Hawke's romance,
so it always brings up an issue as to whether I wanna keep my trust
dwarf or her at my side.

To anyone that's played the DLC, or just
anyone who can offer an opinion, what seems to be the best party to get
the most out of this?
(If this is the wrong forum I apologize)

Aveline and Isabela brought some awesome dialogue tbh.

Hmm, well that makes the decision more difficult. I was considering taking Varric simply because he always has funny dialogue, which would leave 1 spot for Isabela, Aveline, and Anders to fight for.

If you've romanced Anders, bring him!

I have just finished runing the dlc with all of the characters and i gotta agree with reno, Isabella and Aveline was the best combo, varric's dialogue was more boring than expected.
Oh and having Isabella with u gives access to an extra quest.
Other than that id say whomever u romanced is a good option, kinda funny hitting on talis with you're love interest present(mine was Isabella) so dont know how that workes out with say jelly anders though:p

Anders didn't say much (Isabela seemed to "overrule" him in banter), but what he did say (as romanced) was gold.

i think having isabella in your party for the extra quest is worth it if your a rogue yourself

fenris, ander, caver, varric and aveline all have a mini gift quest if your after more exp

Hmm, well that makes it more challenging lol, I'll probably have to play the DLC once or twice. The two I really wanna bring along are Varric and Isabela, but it really isn't practical to run through the DLC with 3 rouges and a mage.

My last playthrough where i was all renegade just to see that dialogue my party was: Me(archer rogue), Sebastian and Anders so it is doable without much problem.. mind u that was on normal difficulty =)
