During the "stealth" section you come across a puzzle with gates. I solved it, and before I moved on, I opened the gates leading to the two chests in the room, first on the left and then the right. But when I got to the chest on the right with the Amulet on it, I couldn't pick it up. Weirdly enough, when I reloaded and opened the chest on the right and picked up the Amulet, I now couldn't open up the left chest or pick up the feather. This isn't the first time this has happened. In Legacy I ran into this glitch as well. Odd that it wasn't fixed.

Try having Hawke and Tallis stand on the things in front of the chests both at the same time. That did it for me.

I had the same problem. I think whatever chest you go for first will work just fine and the second one will be bugged. What I did was open all the gates to the second chest and then open the final gates to the exit. Once the last gates were opened the chest and quest item were useable again.

How do you do that? You need both people to open the gates.

you can open the gates to get to both chests, and then have tallis stand over in front of one chest and hawke to stand in front of the other and both chests should be able to be opened
