Playing MP will give you a better ending than what?  The obvious answer is "than not playing MP".

And the obvious answer would be wrong.  The correct answer would be "better than not playing co-op OR not assiduously completing missions and other tasks in single-player only."

Ok I'm confused or more accuratley I have query about these [War Asset's] now...

From thread just linked...

Answered Questions
Q) How, exactly, will co-op and Galaxy at War preparedness work with the SP campaign? Extra missions, resources, cannon fodder to throw at the Reapers? Blooddrunk1004
A) Resources in the form of equipment and troops, not minerals or creds.

From OXM...

Everything you do in the singleplayer campaign will earn you in-game [currency] called “War Assets”. War Assets allow you to [purchase things] such as allies, friendly fleets, or even a facility such as a radar station.

If it is not a currency or a mineral resource then am I right to assume it is a number tracked and shown somewhere "like a currency or points" that you "spend"? In which case "War Asset's" is like minerals and creds in that sense and nothing more than that in SP.

And to back up Killjoy...as he is receiving a lot of unneeded hate right now..

Casey Hudson has said...playing Sp will give you the 'optimal' ending...and playing MP will give you a better ending...

HIS words...not mine, not Killjoy's....Casey's....now unless some people here really don't grasp the English language, 'optimal' and 'better/best' do not mean the same thing..

So which is it exactly Casey?

Having just seen the video once, I read it more that the multiplayer missions, if successful, open up that area of the galaxy to allow your Shepard in the main mission to access it for side quests.

According to OXM, it's the exact opposite:

And the Galaxy at War mode follows suit, with your customized character taking up arms to defend some of these beseiged locales [Shepard has been to in single-player] just a mere heartbeat behind Shepard's footsteps.

Holy crap I hope you're right about that, didymos.

I don't know if this has been linked yet; I didn't see it while reading but Brent Holmes has answered quite a few questions over in the Multiplayer FAQ thread here

Can the MP mode be done solo, for those who either dont like MP, or
want an extra challenge to finish the game without squadmates?

Currently, yes... but it's pretty hard. Though a lot of that depends on difficulty.

Everyone should make a human char named Conrad Verner and solo the coop

You actually do know that it's only marketing, don't you? If he said something among the lines of: 'yup, we've made this game so that you'll have no clue if you haven't played the previous games. So go ahead and give us moar money, please.'

Check the War Assets thread. I'll bump it for you before I leave. I believe the portion of the OXM transcript I typed up should help with your confusion a bit.

Short answer: War Assets are those things Shepard is acquiring, they are not currency to that end. Completing objectives in the single player, along with (totally optionally) completing objectives in the companion multiplayer campaign, will increase what Shepard finds/gains access to/whatever in the main game.

Optimal is synonymous with best; they both indicate the superlative. If something is "the best", then comparatively speaking it remains better than something else, such as a worse ending. My grasp of the English language is not the problem at the moment. For your comparison to be valid, it must read "playing MP will give you a better ending than only playing the single-player".

Brenon Holmes has officially confirmed solo play is technically allowable for co-op in Bogsnot's thread. Pass it on.

No one should complain now. If someone wants 100% single-player game, he can play co-op missions solo and not miss anything.

I'd say it's pretty clear GreenSoda was being sarcastic. GreenSoda is also incorrect for what that's worth. ME3's development began shortly before ME2 was even released, very quietly. That means, at the very least, it would have had twenty-two months before it hit store shelves, counting November as opposed to the new March street date.

Optimal is the most desirable and or favorable which can easily mean the best. Also regarding his statement about MP. Casey said playing MP will give a better ending. Not a better ending incomparison to a SP ending. Common sense would say that playing MP will give better Galactic Readiness and by more Galactic Readiness in either SP or MP you will get a better ending.

Oi. My response to you was supposed to include an explanation of the War Assets. Oi, oi, oi. These forums lately.

Basically, the War Assets themselves are what Shepard is finding throughout the journey -- allies, fleets, whatever. They are not currency toward that end. OXM made that pretty clear to me. I have that portion of the article transcribed in the "War Assets" thread, which I bumped for you.

Um, dude: you can't get better than optimal.  That's kinda what "optimal" means.

You do know 'optimal' means 'nothing is better, this is top tier', right?
