So long as Single Player remains completely untouched by multiplayer, this sounds like a fantastic idea. But if there is any content (an alternate ending, cinematics, dialogue,etc) achieved only through MP, then this will become an issue.
Otherwise, I look forward to giving it a shot. I'm not a MP person usually, but ACBrotherhood and Uncharted convinced me to give them a try every now and then.

I saw that, yes. And it does worry me. But there was a bit afterwards that said that you could get the complete and optimal ending without multiplayer. I can't imagine "complete" means anything other than 100% in gaming lingo nowadays so if what they say is true, and completion is achievable without ever touching multiplayer then that's great!
However, it would be silly to 100% trust PR speak and developer spin, especially when such things have proven to be less than truthful in the past. I'll withhold judgement until more info comes up, but I'm steadfast in my belief that if it is a
mandatory requirement for
any SP content, then it is a mistake.
