Is it cross-platform? Can I play a mission on PC with my son on his Xbox 360?

I'll wager no.

Not one game or system has had cross-platform capability well pretty much ever.

Still looks good and its not a death match deal so yay.

Pretty much sums us up. All the new info has only been discovered in the last day or so - we can't expect them to come up with an entirely new video in that space of time because a few people have heard the stuff in it.

So long as Single Player remains completely untouched by multiplayer, this sounds like a fantastic idea. But if there is any content (an alternate ending, cinematics, dialogue, etc) achieved only through MP, then this will become an issue.
Otherwise, I look forward to giving it a shot. I'm not a MP person usually, but ACBrotherhood and Uncharted convinced me to give them a try every now and then.

There's a screenshot in the video, around 2:44', where you can see that an enemy is using a strange blue power: what is it?
Is that some kind of Biotic Shield?

@Wolf_in_the_Meadow You really haven't been following closely. It only affects singleplayer if you want it to.

In order to get the full single player experience YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE CO-OP.

Disappointing, but not surprising. If we have split screen, perhaps ... ?

Nope. You can avoid multi-player and get the best outcome in single player.

The quote means if you do well in the co-op missions, it will raise the readiness bar they've been talking about higher, increasing the likelihood of success.

They've also said this bar can be raised to full, and the "best" ending can be achieved without playing any of the co-op missions.

You guys that keep taking this stuff out of context like this should go work at FOX News.

N-O. Success in co-op missions will give you War Assets to max out Galactic Readiness Level but you can get enough War Assets in the single-player campaign alone to max the GRL out and have a chance to achieve the same ultimate/best ending.

Please read the whole thing to spare the sanity of everyone here.

It's completely optional. The only thing that carries over from the co-op is the resources. Thus, it's not something you have to play.

Watch the video. He specifically states that you can achieve the best possible ending without ever using multiplayer.

Does anyone have the bit from OXM that says you can play the co-op mode solo?

I saw that, yes. And it does worry me. But there was a bit afterwards that said that you could get the complete and optimal ending without multiplayer. I can't imagine "complete" means anything other than 100% in gaming lingo nowadays so if what they say is true, and completion is achievable without ever touching multiplayer then that's great!
However, it would be silly to 100% trust PR speak and developer spin, especially when such things have proven to be less than truthful in the past. I'll withhold judgement until more info comes up, but I'm steadfast in my belief that if it is a mandatory requirement for any SP content, then it is a mistake.
