@Lunatic Lk47 I actually think the multiplayer is a good idea it will get ME the sales it deserves without compromising the story for CoD versus mode crap
It's not going to increase sales one iota. No one out there is saying, "I can't play a co-op missions in my narrative driven single player game, no sale!". It's just not a needed feature. If you want proof, go look at Fable 2 and 3's sales, both of which offered a fully co-op experience, and neither or which cracked 5 million units. Only very rarely, and in very specific instances, does multiplayer factor into purchasing patterns.
Which is because, and studies have shown, most people who buy games won't touch multiplayer. For two reasons, one is all the children and people unable to act like adults who dominate the demographic of Multiplayers, and the other is because they all virtually require dedicated play for extended lengths of time, or face the wrath of the people who make up the first reason.
Lunatik's right, this isn't going to work. It's going to backfire hard, because it's a single player game, once people have finished the game or passed the point of those missions, they'll quit participating, and those who come late will be left out in the cold. Late being probably around 3 weeks after release.
It's a bad idea all the way around, which when combined with the completely useless Kinect features, gets you a crap-ton of the budget wasted on features that add no value to the game, instead of adding content. Which is starting to line ME3 up on DA2's path.
Which really isn't a huge surprise, given that it's obviously some Suit at EA's bullet-point list of what he thinks will get him a yearly bonus.
