The
Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War system and all of the individual
components are meant to complement that amazing game and can be enjoyed
on their own or as part of the Galaxy at War experience.

It CAN be enjoyed on it's own?!

Dude.. this just gets better.

I'd like some AI partners, though. Shouldn't be that hard to throw in.

@Captain Crash Happy to help. Yeah, BioWare need to clear a lot of things up to a lot of people, there's still huge confusion over the co-op.

No problem, thanks for pointing me in the right direction rather then being jerk like melchiah was. As you say its confusing and the information seems scattered around and easy to miss.  I hope a better FAQ can be made from Bioware shortly especially surrounding the SP impact and how it will (or will not) effect it.

OK! Watched the vid, read the blurb and am reasonably happy that MP will have no impact on my SP game if I don't want it to. As someone who detests MP with an almost religious zeal it's content I'll never access, hope it's on a separate disc so I can turn it into a garden bird scarer - has to be some use for the damned thing.

With an attitude--a weird, almost psychotic attitude--like this I HATE to see how you function with people in "the real world".

I like single player games, does that give you a clue?

Yeah some AI allies in co-op should be a breeze for Bioware since thats what we've had the whole MAss Effect series.

3 things that'll personallu get me to love co-op is

1. offline/solo capability

2. with AI partners

3. an option to keep the "readiness leval" unaffected from playing multi.

You're right. It wasn't facepalm worthy. It was worth an "implied facepalm" because statements like that aren't worth a real one.

Oh, lay off.  He just misunderstood what Casey was getting at in the video.

Is that the 'new info' we were supposed to wait for? Meh... Nothing really new and still no word on Origin and PC, on playing as female turian or female krogan, or playing with bots when you don't have enough people to join your squad. :-/

I could not be more excited. This sounds like Bioware has hit the best way to add a multiplayer component to ME and it sounds amazing. March can't come soon enough!

Let's not turn this thread into the cluster**** that the last one was. You know very well that that attitude is nowhere near "almost psychotic."

Yup, I think they found a very good way to implement it and have it fit and make sense.

Hey is there a poll or something for the features we all want in co-op?

If Bioware's making us have co-op we should srsly tell them HOW we want it. :P

I know it been asked like many times is OFFLINE CONFIRMED? I really will like to know. The features sound interesting, fun. I'm though really interested in the Story, Singleplayer. I will be playing the Multiplayer/CoOp as well. I hope the game either way be wonderful, great. I'm sure it will be.

Usual disclaimers, this is OPINION

For those that need reference: 2min mark of video:
"Because it has been an integrated design effort, we've created something that is a cohesive experience between multiplayer and single player."
Definition 2 speaks volumes

Cohesive
adjective
1. characterized by or causing cohesion: a cohesive agent.
2. cohering or tending to cohere; well-integrated; unified

So far all that keep harping on "You don't have to play the MP to get the optimal ending" FINE. There's 1 ending you're guaranteed to get by avoiding MP. Of course optimal doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, so who's to say that's really true.

For those of us that play these games as a WHOLE EXPERIENCE, we're boned. The majority of us junkies don't play this game once for the "optimal" ending. We play it repeatedly to experience every facet the game has to offer. It's why people are still playing the first two games now, long after the bloopdie-bloop achievement popped up saying you completed the game (and in ME2 saved everyone for you optimal fiends). It's why people have 5-10 Shepards ready to import.

Hair after 1min:
"ME1 & 2 were about Commander Shepard and his small crew, this is really the beginning, middle, and end of the whole galactic war"

Of course now people have 5-10 Shepards to import only to find out that the game is no longer about Shepard. In order to distract people from this, you get shiny skins of different races to fight in. You're still random soldier 11876, but ooooooh it's a krogan. Otherwise read "Not Shepard". Your 80+ hours of time and emotional investment mean squat while you have to spend integrated and unified time fragging cerberus with PotMonkey420, xXxX1447SnIpErXxXx, and Zephiiiiroth (but at least you're a Turian while you do it) in order to see and experience the game in its entirety.

Scream "You don't have to play it" all you want: Cohesive... Integrated... Unified... If you want to see and experience the game as a whole yes you do

Now believe it or not, I'm not against MP. I think that all these MP ideas are good, and could make for an enjoyable experience. JUST NOT HERE. I'm on the Mass Effect train because I want to finish the story of my Shepard(s) in the plethora of ways I have set them all up by the way I've had them behave through multiple games, not so I can have them shunted aside by infinite cerberus slaughter mode, or have it affected by my indavertant playing of a map as Asari Commando 6791.

Had he said something like "I hope it's on a seperate disk so I can break it into pieces and use the shattered remains to scratch the eyes out of the developers who thought this was a good idea" then I'd agree.

Attempting to frighten birds with a reflective object does not a "borderline psychotic" make.

The multiplayer armors are really cool, so I think they better also be available in single player to characters of the correct race

What would make it even better is if we can customize them.

No, that's not what I meant. It seems to imply that you can play the co-op portion without having it affect the singleplayer if you want it that way. That's a huge bonus for me.

At 1:52, that sentinel's heavy melee, it's a single tech punch. I thought there were two of them.

I don't mind the 'idea' of this.. playing as a difference character does sound kind of fun. I just wish we could do it single player and have AI control other three characters.. I rarely have my xbox set up to live and don't really bother with multiplayer to be honest.. A single player version of this would be cool and it'll be fun to go back to when you just want to jump into battles.

Agree with all these points. I think this would win a lot of people over.

I wonder if Montreal helped with enemy AI or animations.  Essentially if they benefited Edmonton in any way.

@SkyeHawk89 I'm afraid no offline for Galaxy At War has been confirmed as of yet. Nice to see you're taking a positive attitude about the multiplayer though. :)
