Never got this "You can't have your cake and eat it too" argument. After all, cakes are for eating.
Everyone knows the cake is a lie.

They hav said from the start you can play it by yourself which is why alot of people want bots to be included since everyother wave you will have to activate targeted areas, which is kind of hard if you keep getting interrupted. But yes you can play by yourself.ForgottenWarrior wrote...
So "galaxy at war" is just like Gear of War's horde - players must survived an attacks of waves of enemy's. GeoW's Horde was made for co-op, but also it may be played alone. It is really, really difficult (even on easy), but possible. So, it is possible to play Galaxy at War alone, by a single player? I have never heard that devs talk or comment this.

Will it only be multiplayer online or can multiple people play on one Xbox? I can't tell you how frustrating it was when I'd have two friends over and the three of us couldn't play left 4 dead because only two people could play on one system.

I need to play multiplayer to max out single player? I don't even have XBL Gold! So I hope I'm reading that wrong or that's just something that raises it if you missed a sidequest at some point.

online ONLY <_<
for me this game sounds like it gets worse and worse first it's the "just because" multiplayer, you can tie it into the story all you want but Mass effect doesn't need a horde mode other games have done it and probably have done it better.
I haven't read the plot leak but reaction doesn't sound good, will hold off on this point
and now the multiplayer I didn't want now HAS to be played online (and with achievements to boot probably wrecking my 100% completion thus far in Mass effect 1 & 2), if it was offline at least I could have played it with a friend, hell Gears of war lets you play solo offline.
and all this to justify an online pass I guess, to combat 2nd hand sales that are killing the industry dispite being around since the days of the NES and games like Call of Duty making more money than any other game ever

a paraphrase of a Bioware blog entry. And I can't help but wonder how you failed to notice this fact, which was clearly stated at the very beginning of the IGN article (they even linked right to it): "An interview with Mass Effect 3 Producer Jesse Houston posted on the Bioware blog has revealed a load of new details about the promised multiplayer." And it also neglects to mention the part of that Q&A where it is again stated to not be necessary.

I haven't read into ME3 news for awhile. So however long ago this MP thing has been officially announced, I just now found out. And I suddenly am not anticipating this game nearly as much.

@Acky, iakus Is it more that people don't want multiplayer or that they at least want the ME Trilogy finished before it goes the multiplayer route?
I too completed ME 1 & 2 to 100% and actually on my second run on a different account, BUT I can't do that in a single player ME3 IF i have to play COOP and get achievements for that. I like cooperative multiplayer, but thats not how Mass effect started. It started solo, and although I wish it wasn't ending with such a strong emphasis on MP I wish players weren't being jammed into this tack on element that might be even more amazing if it had been held off for a new stand alone game.
