So I played Mark of the Assassin, and wanted to give BioWare my feedback. Keep in mind that I have only played once thus far, and it was pretty late at night, so I’m not sure how complete my review of the DLC will be.

First and foremost, I found the DLC highly entertaining and extremely fun to play. I found the combat to be very challenging on normal mode, but not so much so that it became frustrating. Although, I did have to pay more attention to what was going on to my party members while fighting, because the few times I didn’t , I became the only one still standing at the end of the fight! The fight at the end of the game was very creative and challanging, liked it a lot.

I enjoyed the new sneak mode, especially being able to come up behind a guard and knock him out. Really loved that part! I do feel that those particular skills are more a benefit if you are playing as a Rogue or Warrior, and not a Mage as I was. I think it would be better if there was some sort of cloaking spell for mages, instead of having to keep to the shadows all the time, or having to distract your opponent by throwing something.

The attention paid to all the little details, were wonderful and much appreciated. Who ever came up with the design for the clothing and uniforms did an amazing job… except for my female Hawke’s party clothes. I could tell that the outfit was created for a male Hawke, for it looked horrible on her. It may be a small thing, but it really irritated me. It made me feel, yet again, that female Hawke wasn’t as important to the developers, that she is just an afterthought to them (Here’s a thought: the next DLC or game installment should center on a female protagonist and have playing as a male the optional part- instead of how it is now).

The new creatures were very interesting, especially the wyvern (that was the name right? Not sure if it’s spelled correctly). I knew as soon as I saw the duke’s pet, somehow Hawke would end up fighting it. Not sure about those other little creatures - what were there names? Can't remember, but they moved so darn fast, you weren't able to get a really good look at them- I'm still not sure what they really look like.

And what can I say about Tallis? I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about the character. For an assassin she is very concerned about the consequences of her actions, and she seems to want to use force as a last resort, which was a surprising twist to the character. (I would love to see Tallis and Zevran work together in a future DLC or game- now that would be extremely interesting and a whole lot of fun!) Since I had watched Dragon Age:Redemption first, I knew Tallis was involved with the Qunari, which made her so much more interesting and different – not your normal elf assassin. I hope her story can continue, but not as the main protagonist. Her character is better suited as a party member to the PC.

Learning about Orlais, learning more tidbits about Hawke, and seeing the cameos of some familiar NPC’s were extreme high points for me, as well as was the party banter and conversations. The quests, the puzzles, the humor ... loved it all. Superb job, DA Team… very well done. Image IPB

Edit: After thinking about a comment I made about Serendipty, I decided to delete it in case some people found it insensitive.
