I see the question, Bogsnot1, but where's the answer?
There is none as yet, and seeing that the co-op mode is still in development, I suspect that some of the question that are being asked are still being worked on, or possibly not considered when they started development.
As it says at the very start of the thread, its better to have one thread with all the questions, than 100 threads with one question cluttering up the forums. The Woo-meister has gone along and locked threads that asked the same questions as were listed in the FAQ,so dont be surprised if that happens to this thread too.

I would happily take a drop in graphics to play splitscreen co op, even if it'd only support two players.
Not least of all because it'd be literally the only way I COULD play MP.

Edit - And on that note, will there be random match making? Or do I have to have actual friends online to play? Because playing with randoms can be fun until you have that 13 year old kid yelling in your ear for the whole mission; I hope if they have random match making that they have some real safegaurds in place to keep trolls out.

I don't know how huge improvement ME3 is to ME2 combatwise but comparing ME1/2 to Reach, Gears and such seems stupid. ME2 is very much slow paced on rails shooter (with stupid enemies either covering behind the same object or steadily walking towards you) with really the only strain coming from occassional biotic shockwave chaos, while Reach and Gears are full of explosions, body parts flying all over, people jumping and driving...
ME2 is pretty to look at but there's really nothing happening particle, physics, lighting etc. wise. So unless ME3 crushes GoW3 and Reach under its boot there's no reason why atleast 2 player co-op couldn't happen. In fact I'm hoping for 4 player split screen (though I admit it's a no) because on Xbox1 I had multiple games with 4 player split screen co-op and especially Brute Force looked graphically really competent. I don't like or understand how developers suddenly decided they won't do 3 or 4 player local co-ops anymore.
For gods sake look at Lego games. What prevents them from being 4 player co-ops? I won't be surprised if soon NHL and FIFA won't support 3-4 player local multiplayer. I'm even prepared for losing atleast the 3rd and 4th controller port with next consoles, maybe even the 2nd port will be gone. Microsoft and Sony sure advertise like online gaming is the only multiplayer around.

On the flip side, they said you could play this solo (why would you need to go online for that?)
EA will find a way to make online a requirement <_<

I agree. Split screen co-op needs to be in. The vast majority of top console shooters have them... especially their closest (gameplay) competitor series... Gears of War.
I actually consider Halo a bigger competitor for sales.

Maybe... but gameplay-wise it's all Gears. They're the most similar title to ME's combat by far. Plus, Gears runs on UE3 (same as the Mass Effect series)... and they had split-screen co op for every title in the series.
But heck, the entire Halo series had split screen co op as well. The vast majority of top console shooters do.

K DONE RANTING/Stating my opinion on the matter o 3 o also sorry for my wall of text.
Oh and the post above is right! All 3 Gears have Split-Screen Co-Op so it is indeed a possibility for Mass Effect 3. I am just worried that for some strange reason will end up excluding it.

For instance Call of Duty: Black Ops (i would use modern warfare 3 but do not know if it does have that capability, I haven't purchased it), Halo: Reach and Gears of War 3 have these capabilities.
I agree story mode should not have co-op because its your story you shouldn't have to share your story with friends and plus it would be awkward with the romance scenes especially if your playing with your girlfriend (or boyfriend) beside you.
But co-op mode i think would be perfect for this considering it does enable people to drop in and out of it and not need a change up to the story considering they are individual stories from what I know.
also peanuts568 it has been confirmed that the more you play the galaxy at war modes (other games except co-op) the better the ending can be for mass effect 3 because they want a benefit for playing such games and enables other pieces of technology benefit mass effect as well. (e.g. Facebook)
