Proof that people will complain about anything. I've got news for you; if they allowed every available option, it would be a headache for them and a pain in the butt for us because it would take longer to come out. Want pure, unadulterated, unhampered freedom of choice? Go play a table top RPG, because that is the ONLY game where you will not be railroaded into certain paths. The game has a plot. You have to follow it. Period.

Maybe your Hawke, my Hawke did not like it, but alas the plot dictates that I must play along, go back to Kirkwall and get drunk and have sex. Thank you Gaider.

Well, yeah...my Hawke just wanted to gtfo after fighting an ancient as dirt Tevinter magister darkspawn thingy while dodging really nasty weather.  She didn't want to hang around and interrogate a GW b/c they acted a bit differently after Cory died...considering she watched Anders flip out the entire mission b/c of this dude.

She just really wanted a bubble bath.

I don't even know where Anders was, probaly at the hanged man or at his clinic deleriving a baby.

YES!!! :crying::crying::crying:

However, making out with her is the next best thing!

It is!

I can always imagine they meet again sometime later under less dire circumstances... things WILL get freaky then.

I look at her as another version of  Lelianna. The same strong belief in faith but a different religion.
Her's is about living, and Lelianna's is about dieing.

I was actually kind of surprised by that. When I heard you could flirt with Tallis and... how was it put, 'take things further'? I'd assumed some manner of Isabela style "so, let's bang?" no-strings-attached fun times were incoming. Under the circumstances, I much prefer what we got.

...Uh, yeah. What were we talking about?

  • Merrill: But your bed's not big enough for 3 people is it? We had to send Daemon to sleep with Sandal.

  • Tallis: I think he means a menage a trois.

  • Merrill: Oh? What's that? Is that some sort of big bed?

  • Isabela: *whispers to Merrill*

  • Merrill: Oh.... oh! Mythal'enaste!

  • Hawke: Well, what do you think?

  • Merrill: Okay sure, it could be fun! Just.... make sure Sandal's not in the room this time when we.... you know.

  • Tallis: This should be interesting.

  • Hawke: That's an understatement

  • Tallis: Okay, so it'll be amazingly interesting

  • *cuts out to Cassandra and Varric*

  • Cassandra: Really? The Champion just happened to take Tallis to his bed alongside his Elven lover and the Raider Isabela?

  • Varric: Trust me, I can't make this **** up. I walked into Hawke's house to talk with him and saw them all leaving his bedroom, and Hawke had the biggest grin on his face.

  • Cassandra: I.... see.

  • Varric: Isabela said it was something glorious. The Qunari know some things and apparently like to nuzzle.

  • Cassandra: Please stop.

  • Varric: You said you wanted to know everything about the Champion.

You not understanding. I'm not saying that the player can't have choices, just that not everything has to be controled by the player. You don't need to control everything, wanting to do so is a perferance.

But there is no control of anything at all, no roleplaying whatsoever. At that point, why bother with mediocrity in both gameplay and storytelling when I could just as well play the likes of Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, God of War and Dante's Inferno?

So why not play those instead of staying on the forums of a game you didn't enjoy?

I do play most of those as well, but I suppose I'm still expecting something good given that this is the same team that gave us Origins.

And there's a certain group of users on here I wouldn't dare leaving behind.

Oh, sure ...No roleplaying.....So I can't pretend I was stung by a bee, choose what I say in repose to people, or even what gear I have.
The dlc is full of  roleplaying elements.( like poisoning a later boss, killing a later boss before he attacks you again, and who you help in the deongon.)
It just your complaining about not being able to do on thing out of the dlc. Not being able to do that one thing is not limiting roleplaing, it's controling the story.

Sure, there are some small choices, but all of those only exist in the bubble that is MotA.

Also, why should I expect anything else after no less than two games of kingmaker and deciding the fate of dozens if not hundreds of elves and mages?

Those are not small chioces, that's roleplaying. Controling how you charcter act in scenes is roleplaying. Why? Because you playing your characters role with it. This does not mean you have to have a hand in every big dission.

No one aside from the OP is asking for multiple outcomes to the DLC that would have to be carried over into the future. All we're asking for is that if Hawke is going to be unable to change the outcome, do it in a believable fashion. It doesn't have to be something earth-shattering that has to be carried over into the future. It would be resolved in the last 5 minutes of the DLC. Just a believable sense of failure when Hawke tries to take action, because when Hawke does try to take action in the DLC it's facepalm inducing.

If Bioware is doing this to keep it in the same vein as DAII's base story was until they make DAIII where they may change it, then I really hope they stop believing that Hawke need take no action at all for the plot to move forward.

You'd feel ashamed of yourself for doing something so horrid Image IPB.

Hey can you make Anders kiss an Ogre? Since he says that the last time he played the drinking game in Legacy he kissed one, I think that would be glorious to see.

You assume Hawke knows anything is odd.

I'm not convinced Corypheus even actually pulled a body-switch. I think a lot of people are just itching for a conspiracy when there is none.

If you side with Larius, it's ambiguous.  Could be nothing, could be a body switch.

I've never sided with Janeka, as she's an obvious mind-effed fruit-loop who wants Hawke's blood by any means necessary and thinks she can use Corypheus as a weapon.  Does her ending come across as more obvious in terms of Cory pulling a body-swap?

Yeah, the evidence is weak even from our perspective and Hawke isn't privy to the same things we are (s/he couldn't see Larius/Janeka twitching, for example).

There is strong evidence.

1:Before Hawke gives the killing blow Cory smiles and you see Larius/Jenka stutter in the background.
2: If Laruis is alive, not only is he standing up straight and talknig fine, his speach pattren is the same as Cory
3: Jeneka also acts wierd and her last line "I feel like a new person.
4: Both of them smile when they walk away

They are possesed.

Again, could be something, could be completely unintentional.

Hmmm... not sure there's a smile and Larius "stuttering" here.  Corypheus looks up and makes some sort of facial expression with his mess of a face, and Larius is standing in the background being about as spastic as he was the entire game until that point.

It's the change in Larius' behavior afterwards and the ominous undertone of the farewell cutscene that makes me woner.

Actually quite the opposite, he is dead, no matter what. Not sure where you got that, OP, but you have no choice but to kill him. He's one of the Tevinter Magister that invaded the Makers plane intending to take over the Golden City, not an Old God (which were dragons, btw, if I remember right).

I take it you didn't pick up on the possession part then?

None of my Hawkes will like the fact that I can't even make an attempt for the scroll. I agree the scene would have been better if you at least got the chance to make an attempt to get the scroll from Tallis. I would have liked the option to fight her with her going shadow and running away. This would have been better than the Champion Hawke not doing anything again and just being used by eveyone. Let's face it Hawke is a sucker. This was very lame and fell short in the writing department in my opinion. Don't give me the dialogue options if I can't do anything about it. Also, I would have liked an explantion on why the Qunari was giving up the list to begin with from the Qunari himself. We didn't get this either. Once again the lack of storytelling and open ended storylines. We understood what the Duke was doing, he was acting on Empress Celene's orders. It's getting lame with this series. We're into the second game and two more dlc and once again storylines are not being brought to a close. I thought BioWare said they got the message on this, apparently not.

I'm also tired of paying for content and not having access to this such as my outfit for the party which didn't return to my mansion with me. If I paid for an item I want access to this. Do I have to hand wave this that Tallis brought me clothes along? Or I pinched them from some other guests, if so, then someone at the party should have mentioned they have a similar outfit. This took me out of immersion. I guess I was suppose to be so impressed with Leopold that I wouldn't notice that I'd changed clothes! Don't get me wrong, I loved the new outfit, to bad I could't keep it.

It wasn't possession. Since Janika is a Warden (in her prime), and Larius is a Warden (already went off on his retirement walk) and the taint is within them, it was clearly explained that they were both being affected by Corypheus' slumbering subconscious call for release. Once Corypheus was dead, Janika was no longer under that influence (if you kept her around), and Larius no longer had the confusion and madness being caused by Corypheus slumbering call. What I got out of Larius at the end was not a possession, but a realization that he has survived the walk into the deep roads, and now has his mind in tact. What he will do with that, we don't know yet.

I'll maintain that Corypheus is not an old god, therefore can not transfer to another with the taint. Also don't forget that when an old god does transfer, if that receiving body already has a soul, both are utterly destroyed.

To everyone: Stop talking about Corypheus! :D That was only example. I HOPED there was an option, Janeka or Larius, with some different consequences in DA3. But I dont know that, of course :D :D

Difference in MotA is, that I hadnt any choice. Yes, I could leave her, but with same ending with jewel and scroll in her hands.

IF Bioware just let me tried take the scroll (attack/fight with Tallis dissapeared in shadows), I havent any dislike about this DLC. Anything. But they gave me nothing to decide, and THIS IS PROBLEM, and obviously problem not only for me, but for 2/3 players there.

Ultimately, all of DA2 and its DLC are the same. None of your choices really matter in the over arching story, the events happen as they do, always, there's no choice, at all, ever. Chosing between Larius or Janika, no matter, you still fight and kill Corypheus. Choosing Templars or Mages, does't matter, the Chantry still goes boom, you always kill Orsino, and you always kill Meredith. You can not influence the plot at all.
