Eh, haven't the Asari basically given up all their military "rights" to the Turians? >_>

No, just their share of the Citadel's defence.  Which was basically a **** you to the humans, and only happened if the council is dead.

If the codex is correct, whichever ending happened they increased the size of their dreadnought fleet since ME1.

Hmmm....

Maybe they'll be an argument about if they should join or not...and then some diplomatic problem arises and Shepard helps it so they are all like "yeah, we will have an orgy with you!"

If Thessia is under attack, it could just be they're more bothered by that than Earth.

This. I think the Asari will want to help but that there will be a serious dispute about strategy, and the Asari value their opinion more than anybody else's.

The Destiny Ascension is an Asari Dreadnought with an Asari crew, so the answer here is "no."

I still think that an AY revolt would make an awesome story, and make Samara/Morinth part of the story.

The whole "pureblood" idea may end up being true, and it may undermine Shepard's efforts, especially if he keeps Liara around ( she is a pureblood after all).
I also like the idea of Aethyta being the only matriarch with the correct approach to how the Asari should be structuring themselves. Unless their culture changes and they gear themselves more towards militarization, I can see the Asari having many casualties inflicted upon them in the upcoming galactic war. Perhaps in defending the Asari and choosing to save them, Shep will actually be hindering the war effort to defeat the Reapers because he will have to devote resources to protecting what is (on a whole) a defenseless species.
We shall see.

The prospect of a Justicar coup could make for an interesting tie-up. While such a thing would normally be unthinkable, the extreme circumstances and prospect of Indoctrination could bring about a standoff.

If the Justicar Order, for example, believes that the Asari government is too corrupted by indoctrination, that would be an obvious case. Another avenue is that the Asari are supporting other (minor) races to the neglect of their own: the Justicar Order is sworn to the preservation of the Asari culture, and any noble self-sacrifice of the Asari by the Asari might not be tolerated... and again, the prospect of indoctrination. ( 'The Asari government is deliberatly weakening the defenses of Thesia not to help other races, but because the leaders have been indoctrinated.' )

They did hint at how dangerous a Justicar revolt woule be like in the Codex.  Of course the same could easily be said for the Spectres. Difference is one group actually has to answer to one Authority.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if the Justicars actually were willing to attack the Asari if they refuse to help the rest of the Galaxy.  The Justicar order is there to protect Asari society but I doubt they would stage a coup to stop the Asari from fighting in a Galactic war. If so they would have done that while fighting the Rachni or Krogan. The Justicar may start a civil war if the Asari don't help. Justicars may protect Asari space but Samara seems to hint at the code seems to involve all other intelligent species. The only reason why they will only operate in Asari space now is due to the political ramifications of Justicars doing to much damage.

They're just so...meh.
The Turians are cool because they're rivals.
The Salarians are amusing and endearing.
The Krogan have Wrexy nuff said.
Legion does the robot which forever endeared me to the Geth.

But the Asari are so....meh.

Nah, the Asari are fun loving tricksters; have you forgotten Liara's introduction to the story?

Well considering that most young Asari are either dancers or killers. They kind of blur the line of sex objects and outright mercs.

I think that asari are cool as a species, but they are too stuck up and boring as characters. Like protoss in starraft or Eldar in Warhammer, which are also cool race concepts. Aria is a good example of a not so boring asari, mass effect could use more sarcastic and fun asari, I think that is the core of what makes you more attracted to turians and salarians, you have good examples like Garrus and Mordin, but Liara is usually too serious.

Trapped in a bubble, thinking you're a hallucination and then having a hissy fit.

...okay, not so much fun loving tricksters as emotionally disturbed clingy people, but still. >_>

Femshep can't help if Liara stole some male N7's armor, she's just a tad crazy.  How many prothean ruins have you been stuck in while surrounded by Geth and rescued by the person who murdered your mother?  That'll mess a person up. >_>

On a more serious note, the Asari are probably going crazy; they've met an enemy that they can't deal with diplomically, *hopefully* cannot allure and their passive nature that has worked so well for a good time is beating them over the head.

So they're a warm can of space beer away from going full on Slaaneshi?

That would be much more interesting.
