If you rival Bethany will she accept herself as a mage? I would love to see her more secure of herself and grow wanting to be like her father, I just don't know how..
I always have a hard time trying to rival her.
If anyone knows please tell me, I don't like been  rude to her though ;)

Rivalry vs. friendship doesn't affect Carver and Bethany as much as the other companions.  I could be wrong, but I think rivalry/friendship will only affect one or two dialogue lines later in the game (and maybe not even that).

Carver and Bethany's dispositions and opinions are much more affected by where they end up: Templar, Circle, or Grey Wardens.

Rivalry / Friendship influences them a bit, though mostly when they're a Gray Warden over Templar/Circle Mage. There's rivalry/friendship specific dialogue in Legacy, though. Don't know how it influences Circle Mage Beth, though. Sorry. :(

Beth will never reach Rivalry status. Carver can reach 100% Friendship or Rivalry, but Beth's really either I LOVE YOU SIS, or Meh, what's up?

Bethany rivalry is extremely snippy, actually. In the Deep Roads, she compares you to her companions having their throats being ripped out by the Children.

Egads. I thought Rivalry Beth was impossible. But comparison to the CHILDREN? D : Poor Hawke.

I mean 120 or rivalry points can be obtained, but Bethany starts out higher on the Friendship Bar. Like...40 or 50 I thought.

I dunno about maxing out the rivalry bar, as the game tries pretty hard to prevent you from doing so, but if you get her in the red, left her to the Circle, and side with the Templars, she'll side against you at the end of the game - and you can have Meredith execute her after you've dealt with Orsino. It's pretty awesome.

It's a hard scene for me.

Hawke: "She's all yours, Meredith"

Bethany: "I hope it was all worht it, brother".

*gets impaled by Meredith's swrod*

:(

Even if you max out her friendship? I know she joins you no matter what if she's a Warden, even if you side with the Templars and don't max out friendship.

If she's with the Circle, she's doesn't join you, and you can have Meredith kill her either way. And you can reject Warden Carver, so I think you can reject Warden Bethany.

Yes, the sis-kebab option is a dialogue choice from Hawke, it's independent from rivalry-friendship scores.

Thanks! I know carver grows up if he is sent to the templars, there he learns that everything that shine is not gold and he feels more confident of his abilities if he goes to the wardens.. I have never left bethany to be taken by the circle and as a warden she still not grown up to see that she is going to be doing great things as a mage for the rest of Thedas..

Oh well I still think bethany rocks anyway. :) and No people, I will never allow my hawke to kill her sibblings.. before that happen my hawke have to kill sebastian and every single Andrastian/chantry folks.

Oh and lets not forget I do not like the qunari so if my character can kill them too for enslaving and brain washing people the better.:wizard:
