So, has anyone figured out the console "addtalent" codes for Tallis tree?
If not, where would I look?

214000: Prereq
214001: Root
.... 10: Her silence move
.... 20: her magic resist active
.... 21: the reflect upgrade to the magic resist
.... 30: the spike damage that uses the assassinate icon
.... 31: the cooldown upgrade
.... 32: the brittle combo upgrade
.... 40: passive magic resist
.... 50: stun/slow immunity
I was hoping her ranged ability would also be a hidden passive on top of the dual wield root (like Varric's Bianca tree), but sadly it's tied to her weapons (they're a new item type) so you've got to start messing around with itm_base.gda to get it for Hawke/Isabela.

That also explains why you can't change out her weapons.
Thanks for the numbers.

noticed after adding tallis spec, u cannot equip dual daggers, even if you have the talent for dual weapons. Sorta strange

Something about that tree is set up to force Tallis' inventory. Maybe there's a workaround, I haven't learned enough about the inner workings of DA2 to find it myself yet.

Having looked at Tallis' talent setup, she definitely has the vanilla dual-wield tree. And the item type that her daggers use is set up to register with the game as dual-wielding, because abilities that are flagged "dual-wield only" (like Twin Fangs) work with her daggers equipped.
I would hazard a guess that what they did, is change the script for the item property "restricted: dual-wielding" so that it checks for "character has Dual Wield root talent" and "player does NOT have Tallis tree."
If that's the problem, it's a relatively easy fix. I'll look into it next time I'm on my home PC.

So... clipping problems with the animations aside, would it be possible to add new weapons to the game using Tallis' weapon type? It would be interesting if instead of the mod Darknite50 linked we could add these new weapons and just switch between normal daggers and "throwing daggers" equipped.

Yes, easily. You'd have to fix the dual weapon restriction, but I've just done so (and added it to the dagger toss mod).
Now it's just a question of deciding which daggers you'd like switched over to throwing-class, or making and distributing new ones.

Wait, so now do all the party's rogues use the throwing animation regardless of what weapon they wield or only if they have tallis' daggers?

In the current iteration of the mod? All daggers, Tallis' or otherwise, will use Tallis' throwing animations.
Since there's interest in a variation with some daggers that use the new animations and others that use the old, I'll be working on that, but it'll be a lot more work (the current mod took like ten minutes) and thus a lot more time.

Hmm...from what i see in your itm file you've changed daggers from type 2 to type 6, so im guessing thats the new type? If so, would it be possible to create entirely new items by adding a new line in the item_base using this type?
Thats more or less what i was hoping for. Im still learning things but i was hoping to be able to create a whole pack of throwing weapons this way and make them available in merchants or something

Actually, that's just a shared flag for weapon behavior; in this case it just means "ranged." Bows also use type 6. You can leave that at 2 and it'll work fine, it just breaks autoattack. The relevant column here is actually further over, "Style," which is what tells the game which set of animations and abilities from ABI_base to use when that weapon autoattacks; by default, dual-wielding is style 1, while Tallis' new set is style 11.
If you wanted to make throwing weapons without altering anything else you'd just create a new weapon and set the BaseItem entry to 1103, which is the new item type Tallis' daggers use.

ok, so let me ask this... is there a mod if not the one above, that can allow Tallis to be able to equip daggers outside of her own( or the ones she has if you use the additional companion(s) mod(s) ).
