I would want it...but I would also want it done by the artists at Bioware. I wouldn't pay for someone's "interpretation" of what it looks like, or should look like.

This would be very welcome.
Question for Koomazaz: Are these textures environmental only, or do they also cover characters?
Ideally, all game textures would be improved. What I would want most are the body textures to match the high-res face. That has bothered me more than anything. But, I would hope that all textures in the games would be boosted.

YES! Please do, I still play Mass Effect 1/2 all the time. I've replayed these games more than any other. It, to me, makes sense to go back and play ME1 to transfer decisions to ME2 especially since ME3 is coming out. I usually play as myself (making decisions I would do), the good guy, the bad guy, a woman, and then again as a woman to experience other choices.
That's 5 playthroughs just for one games x 3 so 15 for the entire series and I guarantee I'll do more. So it is definitely worth it since those games are revisited constantly. ME1 texture update would be the best gift Bioware could do with ME2 being bonus (since it looked great). Idk if they can get rid of texture pop in in ME1, cuz that'd be sweet.
There are noticeable textures in ME1 that drive me nuts (Garrus's face anyone?). The only other thing about the game that drives me nuts is the completely repetitive, boring side-quests. If they fixed both it'd be a dream come true, and I, as well as countless others I think, would pay for such a thing. I doubt side missions will be fixed, but textures being a possibility? Count me in.

If they decide to do it I wish(though I doubt) it will be on PS3 too.
Also, I feel they would have to do a little work on ME1 to fix up some of it's short comings.

@Onyx: It would certainly take some work, but it wouldn't be that drastic of a change!

All I would want is the side-missions fixed; however, if they ignored that completely and just did textures I'd be perfectly fine with that

Yes please. Not a fan of having to fix the glitch on PC with Garrus' face myself.

@Koomazaz
Try to get Kotaku to run this. I would shoot them an email with your contacts info and details. It'll generate alot more support and publicity from both the casual and hardcore fans.

If it's available for the XBox also...I'm in, I would love that.
The xbox framerate already drops from it's 30 fps cap every now and then through combat. Do you seriously think it will run the same with hi resolution textures? That's what PC is for. Consoles are limited by the manufacturer, PC's are limited to the amount of money you can spend.

It's too late if you ask me, not sure I will ever go back to the first two after ME3 just like I can't go back to Gears 2 now that Gears 3 is out and is so much better.
Then again, I don't know, better looking textures might be enough of a thing to make me check them out.

Not even to play a new story? Or do all 3 games back to back? Wow.
