I was only saying the same thing. I have the same card, load all JeanLuc's Ultra squad member mods, as well as the mods for the various Normandy crew, Shepherd's casual & armour, plus several other mods - about 25 all up. Granted the game takes a few minutes to load up, after that there is only a frame rate drop in cutscenes that involve holograms (anything with TIM, throught Overlord...) - my only gripe with ATI is the inability to force Ambient Occlusion from within Catalyst, like nVidia card users can from the nVidia control panel.JakeMacDon wrote...
...and I've never understood this "I can't use TexMod with an ATI card" thingy. Got a 1Gb Radeon HD 5770 and - aside from a bit of a longer load time - not a single problem ever. EVER. Game runs like a top, average 50-some odd frames and that's with everything by Jean-Luc loaded - not the mid-sized textures - the Ultra textures - and I usually run the game in 1920X1080. Not a stutter anywhere.
Maybe it's a memory or processor problem?
Possible ME1 and ME2 Ultra Hi-Res Texture Packs!

BioWare, I would pay cold, hard cash to have high-resolution textures for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for PC.

On topic: Cool idea and all, but it will most likely be put out for retail, rather than just patches.

Actually, it would be a heck of a lot more work for BioWare to release a new retail version than simply releasing a patch. Think of all the work that it takes to create thousands of copies of a new release and send them to retailers around the world. As opposed to simply packaging the files, dropping the file on a server, and posting the URL in the forums...

I think he meant that they would sell the HD texture pack as DLC, instead of a free patch.
I'd pay for it.

I like this idea but i would rather prefer Bioware made maybe two years after ME3 release a sort of
ME: Trilogy Edition. with:
-ME1 with enhanced graphic and all DLC included,
-ME2 with (if possible enhanced graphic and ME3 innovations) + ALL DLC
-ME3 with all DLC
A sort of Ultimate edition....it would be a day 1 purchase for me.
This would of course be a dream come true where the games are packaged into one massive game!
But, I support high-res textures for ME1+2! This is much needed and would be much appreciated by the fans!

I'd like it even more for ME3 at or soon after launch. I think it should be free, although I would be willing to pay for it for all three games.

Yep, that would be great. And it'd show, that they still care for their customers. Something they lost over the last years.

Skyrim released a texture pack recently, so hopefully Bioware jumps on the bandwagon.
And it's not like there isn't a precedent, since DA2 had a high rez texture pack.

If you'd like to help, you should try sending a PM to each of the Mass Effect board moderators, asking for them to consider a high-resolution patch!
