I have an opportunity to get the game for arround 15 bucks, but I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I've heard alot people say its kind of bland and lame, also being a big let down from origins. Is this true? Is the game not even worth playing? Just so you know I'm a busy college student, and my gaming time is limited. I'd rather not waste it playing some mediocre bioware cash in. So keep that in mind when making your reccomendations.

It depends ...

What type games do you like to play?

If I had it to do over, I wouldn't.

 ... but that's me.

As much as I personally dislike the game.

I cannot, and will not, tell anyone NOT to buy DA2.

That should be their choice to make based on what type game THEY like to play.

well I like the mass effect games, thought I kinda prefer ME1 to ME2. DA:O was good too, I really enjoyed it. I like to play rpg's and fps's mostly. I play starcraft 2 now and then but i'm not competitive or anything.

Replaying Origins >>> getting Dragon Age 2. Of course if you like consolized action games with little to no RPG value, your mileage may vary.

You might enjoy it, though $15 is a bit over-priced IMO ...

I'd recommend playing the demo and getting a friend to let you play their copy before shelling out that kind of money for DA2 ... <_<

At 15$ I'd say sure why not? I will say you will either like it or be dissapointed, but nobody can tell you that but yourself.

So the question you have to ask, do you take the risk? Whether you do or don't, just make sure you're satisfied with your decision.

Based on that, I'll say no.

My assessment is based on your preference for ME1 to ME2. DAII is much closer to ME2 in style.

It's absolutely worth $15. Even if you only play it once you'll get your money's worth for that price.

I haven't gotten terribly far into the game, but I've rather enjoyed it thus far. The only things I really dislike are the ridiculous new look for the hurlocks and the microscopic menu and subtitle text.

Also, I wouldn't put much stock into the extreme venom being spewed about the game from others on here if I were you. It's really over-the-top, and the game isn't even half as bad as some make it out to be IMHO.

There are a lot of haters on this forum.

DA2 isnt nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. Its not DA:O, so don't expect that. I cant stress that enough.

DA2 is a new game, with a new, faster paced, action-y combat style (no more hobbling around in combat). The story is good, but different from what people usually see in RPGs. I mean, its not about being the "chosen one" to defeat "the big bad evil". The majority of DA2 is about Hawke, his Friends, Family and Kirkwall.

The game does have its flaws (like reused areas), but you really can't go wrong for $15.

I like ME1 better than ME2 and like DA2 a lot. As others have said for $15 go for it.

You mention your time is limited, not your money. So basically depends how expensive your time is for youImage IPB

I'm pretty sure busy people with limited time have better and more important things to do than playing video games.

I liked both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II. You should consider getting it, especially at that price! :)

To the question “Is the game not even worth playing?”, I would answer no, DA2 is worth playing. However, it is definitively not worth its initial price tag.

For me DA2 is an OK game, neither a bad game nor a good game. It is a “little” rushed cRPG that I still enjoyed finishing once. Not much in common with DAO which is the really good cRPG that I finished multiple time to see the different outcomes of my decisions.

Does it worth 15 bucks? I would say yes but it depends of your personal taste and of what worth 15 bucks for you. You should definitively try the demo that gives a really good idea of what the whole game is (except that it does not show the recycled area problem) before to buy it.

DA2 has its flaws, and there are plenty of threads here which discuss them, but I still found plenty of enjoyment in there as well. I think its better than mediocre. Sure there are better games, but there are a lot of worse ones as well.

It's worth it for 20 or under, but not what I paid for when I pre-ordered it at 60 dollars.

Sadly DA2 will be forgotten in the midst of other great RPGS that came out this year or are on the way.

The Witcher 2, Deus Ex, And Skyrim.

I actually jumped back into TW2 since the latest patch added a brand new playing mode (Dark mode, features darker content, unique armors and weapons to the difficulty, and hardest difficulty.), an arcade mode called "arena", and fixed numerous bugs.

The Missing Link is due out this month for Deus Ex, and Skyrim next month.

If your a big fan of the Dragon Age universe then it could be hit and miss, you might like it and you might not (particularly if your one of the more hardcore Rpg fans.)

There are many better games out there that are worth getting over DA 2 so maybe you should just wait for the price to go lower or for them to release an ultimate edition which has all the DLC and add-on content.

Get it. DA II is better than most games. I paid sixty bucks for it and every penny was well spent.

I'll second this. If you waited this long, you might as well wait for an Ultimate Edition. It's what I'm doing. I'll get it when the Ultimate Edition is in the 3 for 15 euro bargain bin.

Worth the buy! Yes it has flaws, i personaly dont think the flaws the game has are as earth shattering as some reviewers and forum posters say they are. Enjoyable game, good story, some very good DLC now available. Personaly- go for it!

DA 2 is a very different game from Origins. That being said, it can stand on it's own merit. To me they backed away from a lot of the RPG (there is way less as far and conversation with companions and the like). I personally, miss that... a LOT XD! But I do enjoy the pretty combat moves and that sort of thing. The graphics are nice too! I would say it's worth the 15$.
