and leading him to try to be better?  Does it impact his character in 2?

Doesn't seem to have any impact at all in 2. It might a tiny bit in 3, it could come up a bit more in the way he handles things, but no, the way you talked to Garrus in 1 does nothing for him in 2.

Aww, that makes me sad. I went ballsed out Renegade last time, so Garrus made sense in 2. I'm going ****ed Up Paragon this route (in short, my Renegade in 2 wanted all his underlings to be loyal and live. So that's what he rocked. Because what's an evil overlord without underlings? My femshep paragon is going to sacrifice Kaidan at Virimire because it was for the best of the mission (who I have been romancing), then go on to let people like Jack, Garrus, and, uh, most of ME2 die. Samara will live, though. She's a paragon.)

Y U NOT GOOD ENUFF?

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll read about it later in some bland, unimportant email. <_<

Ah, yes, "e-mails."

I just leave a couple there and get rid of every single other one. I never, ever read them.

Half of the reasoning behind that, however, is because my TV is garbage and I can't actually READ them... thank god I'll have money for an upgrade soon.

If memory serves me, it impacts what he did while you were dead. He tries for C-sec with paragon and spectre training if renegade, neither works out for him.

Heh, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who's TV doesn't give a damn if I can read what's on the screen or not, so that was great. Unfortunate, but great.

But that said, I still read them all (The first time anyway.) and even then, I was greatly unimpressed; Bioware said numerous times leading up to ME2's release that the choices we made in ME1 - big AND small - would have consequences and relevance in the next game, only to get a fistful of emails that some of us can barely read. Even the scene with the Virmire Survivor ended in one of those things!

Just saying that, to me at least, Bioware was making the truth sound FAR more interesting and magical than the end result. Kinda sneaky.
