I know the point of an RPG is to make the important decisions that you the player see fit yourself. However I am most curious What the Dev's think is Canon Hawke's facts.


From the Destiny Trailer we can safely assume:

- Basic General Look of a Mage in Champion Armor, with the Staff of Parlathan and the Second preset face.
- Fought the Arishok in 1 on 1 combat
- That his main love interest was intended to be Isabela.

I think for those of us who might do a Canon Hawke run this might be helpful to play Garrett Hawke the way the Devs imagined.

Call me lame, but that's how I played it. Also took the aggressive path with a couple diplomatic checks passed. Carver was a GW. Being an apostate I sided with the smugglers and usually avoided the attention of the long arm of the law. Was a Blood Mage. Killed Qunari Delegates and openly sided against the Arishok (rather than conspiring with Petrice or being diplomatic on Viscount's behalf).

Friends: Varric, Merrill, Anders, Isabela
Rivals, Carver, Aveline, Fenris, Sebastian

Nah, I don't think there's a canon Hawke, although with DA3 there may be a pre-set "back story" or two the way there was for DA2 if you didn't input a game from DA:O

Especially when it comes to the LI ... each relationship was crafted so carefully and with such love, I can't believe that one was favored over the other.

In the trailor, they HAVE to show one over the others, otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

I prefer the term "default" Hawke, over cannon.

For DA:O, the Default Warden was Human Male Noble Warrior (featured in the Urn of Sacred Ashes Trailer), who, according the default settings for DA2, made Alistair king, did the Dark Ritual, and stayed on as a Grey Warden. I'm guessing Morrigan was his LI, but I don't think there's anything that specifically started that.

Similarly, I think for DA3, if you don't import a save from DA2, the "default" will be male Mage Hawke, who romanced Isabella, defeated the Arishok in single combat, and I'm gonna guess sided with the mages, since I don't know why mage Hawke wouldn't, but I guess we won't really know until da3 comes out.

They'll probably put few defaults for female and male. Not many choices on characters so they'll probably mention the class if it was a warrior/mage/rogue hopefully it can be done with both sexes.

Side with mages/templars.
A Love interest/s Leave with it.
Anders situation/s Dead or alive.
Qunari leader: dead or alive.
Siblings situations: if dead, made warden, templar or left the circle to help the mages.

I don't think they'll add anything more from origens.

I'm seeing Hawke the same way KOTOR saw Revan. You get a character asking your PC about Hawke and what you 'heard' (thus constructing his/her backstory).

I agree with many of the posters about who canon Hawke is though.

-Garrett (preset 2/iconic Hawke with blood smear)
-Mage class (or Two Hand Warrior since Bethany is featured more than Carver)
-Fought (and killed) Arishok
-Romanced Isabela
-Probably aggressive or sarcastic personality
-Supported the mages
-Friendship with Varric, Aveline, Bethany (if warrior), Merrill (he seems to use blood magic in the trailer too)
-Rivalry with Isabela (rivalmance since she's seen dueling him in a quick cutscene), Anders (for use of blood magic), Fenris (if mage), Carver (if mage)

Interestingly none of my Hawkes fit the mold. :-/ Probably going to do a playthrough like that
