Unless you happen to be named Mangiraffedog, there's a good chance you put in a bit of effort creating a name that fits either your personality, history, or simply a reflection of yourself. Where did yours originate from? 

Mine was an oddball. It originally was VitaEx, on an entirely different forum. I was watching the DVD of the show ROME. On the trivia track, it said the latin word for master was "Dominus". I enjoy all things dark/macabre, and the name had just the right sound to it. So I threw out the X and plugged them together. Vita happens to mean vitality, so you could either interpret it as Master of Blood, or Master of Life.

I randomly saw an old John Waters movie on IFC (Cecil B Demented) one day when I was in High School and one of the characters was named Fidget. I thought it was a cool nickname and fit me well, so I stole it for my online username.

Sornarr is elvish for Phoenix.
Because Phoenixes are super-extra-special-awesome.

I am often quite impatient with myself. I've had quite a few situations where immediately after I wish I had a do-over cause I didn't think quickly enough at the time and it frustrated me a lot.

I also wanted something that wasn't directly related to a game etc that I am currently obsessing about that I would regret choosing 12 months down the track. I use the same name on a couple of other sites and as my xbl gamer tag.

My nickname is Wurm...every easy to remember variation of that was taken when I signed up for a free MMO called Fallen Sword so I tried other varitaions and this was the only one that looked good for a Character...then I started signing up for other things and I'm too slow to remember more than one name so I'm stuck with it.

Well it's easy enough it began when i played ME 1 for the first time and it was one character that i managed to hate more than the others (guess who it was) but i still didn't hate him so intensely as i do now then ME 2 came out and listen to his b*ll**** now became worse as he starts to insult you when you catch up with the councilors and from that moment and on i wanted a Renegade interruption option to knock him out in ME 3 so that's all there is to that.

When I was on the old bio boards I was playing NWN2 at the time and everything I typed in was taken so I threw hagspawn in as a random after getting peeved and yeah...of course it would register the name of a male offspring of a hag and none of the feminine nicknames I put in! ><

I wanted to log in quickly on BSN and asked my boyfriend to say something. He instantly came up with Rapunzel.
It's not from the stupid movie, but a reference to the original French-German fairy tale written down by the Brothers Grimm.
It is also the name for lamb's lettuce (yummy).
I'm only glad he didn't say Rumpelstiltskin...
