Hi,
When I download the v1.02 patch for Mass Effect 2 Kaspersky says it contains a HEUR.Trojan.Win32.Generic virus, and prevents me from running the file.
Any help on resolving this much appreciated.
Thanks

1) Where did you get the patch from? Any source other than the official website is not to be trusted.
2) Get rid of Kapersky, as its been proven to cause all sorts of bugs with games running the Unreal3 engine. Ranging from not starting, through to random crashing.
Try AVG, Avast, or Comodo instead.

Microsoft Security Essentials is also Dragon Age and Mass Effect friendly.

I have Kaspersky antivirus on my system, and can run ME2 fully patched without any problems. Virus scans come clean also..

So they finally fixed it. Thats some good news at least. Last I heard was March this year and it was still playing up, will keep it in mind from now on.

You are in a minority. There are countless incident reports castigating the interference created for game players by Kaspersky.

Yeah, that pretty much means "Well, this could be a virus, but hell if I actually know which one". I.e., very likely a false positive.
