EA/Bioware services they don't work as they should, they shutdown the MS1 offical site, i mean the thing like this, like register yor game, then you buy the game get the DLC and don't have any regitery on any site good work Bioware/EA good work, working like a pro....like that.

the bring down the sky addon didn't add alot just a new mission plus when i was finally able to get me1 to install on my custom built vista based pc i tried to install the bdts addon and used the key i got from ea, it told me i exceeded the number of pc's i could install it on (thanks ea)!!.

each key should be assign to an E-mail user (the owner), its not much to ask but ok.

(so it never appair "you exceeded the number of pc's")

One of the last game patches amended the builtin counting mechanism so that you could always have five instances active, just use the official uninstall to remove a copy from an old PC being given away or traded in, and you have that "count" taken off again.

I'm going to edit this.  I'm not sure how the change was made.  There may have been a mini patch for the counter, and I never needed it myself (only installed on one PC when the game was newly ported).  It really would have been nice to still be able to dip into the Legacy Forum's archives, where most of those discussions occurred.

Correct, read the stickies if you are looking for the Bring down the Sky DLC.

I just wanted to play the first Mass Effect. I got if from a game shop. It was an EA value game, still unopened. If they re not going to let you register and play the game, then why didn't they recall all of the copies that were still out there and just tell us that we were out of luck and that those of us that discovered Mass Effect late just didn't get to play the first one. As it is, I am extremely dissappointed in Bioware and EA and I just wasted some money!

There is a universal, generic number to use. I don't know it, but a more thorough search in the pinned thread on top will tell you about it.

But where do we enter in the code? I contacted EA customer support and followed their instructions, but the code they gave me didn't work. I am extremely frustrated at this point.

What code are you trying to enter, and what EXACTLY is your issue?  Are you trying to install the DLC or are you having an issue installing the core game??

Got it fixed. I am still not sure what the problem was, but the I e-mailed EA and they helped me out.
