My my, aren't we the self centered types. The vast majority of Taco Bell's consumers use the drive thru. You two are the minority  (eating AT taco bell for peaceful dining purposes?  lol). Overruled. LOL

I'm just kidding, btw.  This  has been one of the most entertaining discussions I've had on this forum in a really long time.

If ever I found myself in Taco Bell, I would shake myself awake and drive to Moe's or better still Nuevo Laredo.

While I sympathize with the OP, I will say that's actually pretty funny

@Yrkoon

Actually, good point...if we're talking about Taco Bell, the food itself would be making my dining experience unpleasant. :P

Everwarden, while your analogy was entertaining to read, your basic premise is a little misguided. At no time did you "order" a game. Neither Dragon Age Origins nor Dragon Age II were developed based on anything you did or anything you, as an individual, requested. In fact, you're not even at a taco restaurant.

Instead, think of yourself at a buffet type restaurant. The restaurant has done a study of the kinds of food enjoyed by people in your area, in your state/province, in your part of the country. Up here in Edmonton, that would be standard North American far as well as Ukrainian food and Chinese food. The restaurant is trying to please the greatest number of people possible, but cannot possibly accommodate every individual's tastes or preferences.

If you love tacos and want tacos, well, there's always the chance that the buffet restaurant may not have them on the menu. They might have them on the menu tomorrow, but perhaps they don't have them on the night you go to eat. When taking your order, your server isn't asking you "what would you like to eat?" but "would you like to partake of our buffet?" because all the work has already been done to set up the buffet and it's just waiting for people to say "yes" or "no," There might be a special option (for an extra charge) to partake of the buffet plus all-you-can-eat crab legs. Super yummy! Again, however, the crab legs have already been prepared and are just waiting for you to say "yes, i want that" or "no, I don't want that." Your order of "I'd like my usual" will make no sense to the server if your usual is a cheesy gordita, 3 beef hard tacos and extra hot sauce. The server isn't there to serve you, per se, but to facilitate your purchase of the buffet.

Likewise, your individual ideas of what the buffet should serve is immaterial. you can suggest things the restaurant should offer in the future or tell the restaurant which foods you hate, but ultimately, it is up to the restaurant to determine what kinds of foods the majority of their diners would want based on market research, past history, and maybe comment cards, restaurant reviews and current trends in food. :)

Not sure of Taco Bell making good tacos, I think they put mystery meat
in the their tacos every day!! Kind of the like the Hanged Man!!!Image IPB

Brought tears to my eyes aswell, he started talking to childres while we are all adults in here.. more or less.

Mystery meat is a macdonals style, taco bell is delicious, macdonals are fatty food even their salad has more fat than a seal or a whale.

Not sure how many times people need to be told that da2 was an experiment to attaract more players.
I suppose that, yes, we need to tell them over and over again like childrens.. sorry Op! you are right, every 3 days we have to remind them about it, just as a child. And I have to remind you that you can't go to a steak house and ask for the best fish.. yes is not the same as a fish and chip place, and I will never go to a Red Lobster and ask for steak.. it taste fishy to me.

I am sorry to tell you that companies need new and old players to survive, people change with
time, the old players will look for something new and exciting while new
players will be glamour to their  products. Today every single RPG is coming with more action and less talking/ reading, our future generation hates book's or reading and!!!! if it doesn't have pictures....  then it sux!.:(
So thats the future! more killing in games, less reading, less searching on the net about a product and more complains about old news.

If the OP did, this would just be one of the many, many, "DA2 was Bad" threads. OP would just be an average complainer.

Funny post though, OP.

Buffet?

The hell it was ... :pinched:

How many other rpg's were you trying to sell us on at that time?

At no time did you "order" a game.

I damn sure DID order my game.

In fact I PRE-ordered it based on the (now) patently false assurances that it was both an rpg and the sequel to DA:Origins.

Everwarden's analogy may be a stretch, but yours is entirely off the mark.

If Bioware games came with 'all you can eat crab legs' I would a) buy all the games, repeatedly and B) put on a lot more weight.

The OP may have sparked a truly brilliant marketing strategy.

When you order something from a restaurant, you can order exactly what you want from their menu and you're also able to make changes to it. Maybe you dont want onions, or maybe you want extra cheese... these are options you have at a restaurant that you dont have when it comes to video games. Video games aren't made for one person specifically, its made for a wide audience.

Dont state opinions as facts. DA2 was a RPG, and a sequel to DA:O (it just didnt copy and paste the formula).

You shouldn't announce your buffet as still having tacos if it doesn't have them, then. And all these analogies are making me hungry.

I don't recall Bioware ever saying that DA2 was going to be everything that DA:O was with diffrent graphics.

I'm fairly sure that they gave everyone a free sample of DA2 as well. You tasted it, and still decided to buy a product that you would be unsatisfied with.

They went out of their way to ensure that beneath the coat of paint still was the system and the feeling of Dragon Age, and that the demo was an incomplete build and not representative of the whole game. They lied, on both accounts. I could try and dig out the dev quotes, but since most are eight or so months old, that kind of speluking would take too much time.

Still felt like Dragon Age to me.
However, I wasnt expecting DA:O 2. I played it at ComicCon '10 and I played the demo. I knew what I was getting into.

This thread makes me want to change what I'd eaten for lunch to tacos.

Must resist urge to describe favorite tacos to thread.
