I have to go with this. Felicia Day is a celebrity? For what? Tell me what big things she has been involved with in a big way. (so, things like being some random person in the background of an episode of a TV show don't count) She is involved with a little Dragon Age webseries and her Guild webseries. That's hardly a celebrity.

Well at least Felicia Day is a big gamer and geek herself, so she's not exactly the most typical as celebrities go. Overall, I'm not fond of making a big deal over celebrities. Celebrities don't inspire me to buy games (as certain celebrities could end up turning me off from a game), and a celebrity certainly isn't going to make a good game out of a bad game, but if a celebrity happens to do the voice acting or character animation or whatever, then I don't really see it as a problem.

I would love if Joker left the normandy for a little bit! His character is great and he needs more dialogue and times where he isn't stuck to his chair! I really hope we can be or help joker fight the reapers in the normandy in a space battle!

& to contribute to the topic, I am fine with celebrity DLC, like a previous poster said its not like the mass effect series had celebrity DLC unless you count Liara and that DLC was imo well done. So I think your jumping the gun a little bit too soon, when you don`t have to purchase DLC anyways.

Instead ME had alot of celebrity voices present in the main game and imo they did a fantastic job! I played the DA2 DLC with Felicia Day I was hesitant to buy it at first, and yes at times I found her voice acting was off, but over all I thought she did a great job because by the end of the DLC I was attached to her character, and was sad she couldn`t be a full squadie,  that is what makes a character great in my eyes, not because she is a celebrity.

So yeah moral of the story: don`t judge a book by its (popular) cover.

Jocker and Illusive Man are established characters, so DLC about them most probably won't be like  "Look, we have a celebrity here and we have a fanboy crush on him/her, so we decided to include his/her fancharacter into canon", as it was with Felicia Day.

I didn't know  that Yvonne Strahovski created Miranda character and approached BW-writers with proposition to create some fan product about ME, and they got so excited that they included her in the game.  

Even if it is so, still Miranda did stay the secondary character and not pushed  Shepard away from the main character spot.

But Tallis, oh no, how can she be a secondary character? You play as a Hawke and you feel like you are just an NPC. You had even less control over the situation than you had in Arrival. 

Everything there is done to show how awesome and cool Tallis is, and how your Hawke and all your companions suck, and how helpless they would be without that Tallis the Awesome around. I'm surprised she didn't have raindow sparkly hair or something like that. It would be very fitting:)

Rouge Hawke somehow looses ability to pick locks(at least s/he doesn't even get the chance to try, because, lol why, you have awesome supah cool Tallis to do it!), companions get lost in the simple basement, etc.You don't even given the reason for Hawke to do this quest aside from 'Tallis just askes and Hawke felt like helping'

At least with Miranda I never got the feeling "Did they used some fanfiction as the script here?"

I havn't played Mark of the Assasin (or any of Day's other work), but she played Veronica very well in Fallout New Vegas. She was one of my favourite characters. So she can act just maybe not in MotA (though i havnt played it so i have no idea if it was good or not).

Neither did Felicia Day.  BioWare approached her to work on something with her.

When you are a successful, paid writer approached to work on a licensed property, what you write loses any qualities that could be used to define it as "fan-fiction" -
unless you are trying to equate "fan-fiction" = "bad writing", at which point you are not only enterting subjective territory but you are ignoring the wide range of "quality" for professional writing and fan writing.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't 'nuff said before.
