On Thessia: Samara fights in the name of the Normandy and Shepard.
On Noveria: Shiala or a colonist holds the line in the name of Shepard.
The Shadow Broker: Liara transmits hope throughout the galaxy about Shepard and the Normandy.

Minor peeve here, but I think you mean Feros. Noveria was where the Rachni Queen was.

I'd put the link here, but for some reason it doesn't work on the phone I am using:

Go to YouTube and enter the search terms of "Winston Churchill Finest Hour.". It's a watershed speech of about a minute and a half from World War II. Empire-building rhetoric aside, it mentions failure and the abyss that faces a small island nation and a seemingly unbeatable foe.

I hope Shep (or Cpt. Kirrahe) gets a speech like that. But frankly, even Mess Srgt. Rupert Gardner could probably give a good one, so long as it is heart-felt and sincere.

Shepard speeches are OK. But I don't think he can give a speech to the whole army. That is someone like Hacketts or Andersons job.

Who here wants to do an exclusive interview with Emily Wong and tell their side of the story to her? Explain how you feel and what happened. How no one took you serious. I would love it if I could do an interview with her. Other reported I will punch!!

How about:

"Well... Humans and allied species, if everybody just kills a Reaper each, we will manage this mess till Friday. Everyone who slaughters more than one gets a cake."

Shepard's not a politician.

And computer game speeches can be pretty hit or miss.

I want to see a recruitment video featuring Shepard somehow like she's the next coming of Audie Murphy.

Common misconception here. Military officers are by their nature political.

Their job involves maintaining moral and the faith of their troops as much as, if not more than, tactical and strategic prowess. They must manage conflicts under their command and curry favor with their superiors in order to get what they need and get promoted.

Granted, they do not typically hold elected office, but politics does not exist exclusively within the government.

I have seen this done by a large group of Maori men in full traditional garb (including facial tattoo'ing)...the traditional garb and tattoo's add to the impact....You really wouldn't want to face that on the wrong side of their weapons on a battlefield....it's thunderous and very intimidating.

"They are just machines, and machines can be broken. We fight or we die! That's the plan!"

Humanity collectively facepalms at just how pitiful that line was.

Always one of my favorite lines. Not so big on "We fight or we die!" though.

I'd like a Kennedy style "Not because they are easy but because they are hard" speech as well.

Agreed.  I liked the machines line a lot, especially in the context of the conversation.  It was like Shep drew a line in the sand for the reapers.  Which made Sovereign do his breakneck turn and blow out the windows.

Some dues ex machina machine has caused the entire Reaper fleet to be unresponsive, not unlike Nazara after his avatar, Saren, was killed
The entire Alliance, Turian, and Quarian fleet lines up in formation, with Normandy at the front.

"There will be a time when our great civilizations will grind to a halt. But that is not this day!
There will be a time when we are nothing but fossils in the ground. But that is not this day!
There will be a time when our spirits turn to nothing but ash. But that is NOT THIS DAY!
This day we fight!
FLY! FLY NOW! Light the engines, load the missiles, raise the barriers, ready the guns!
For life, for liberty, for all of organic life!
CHARGE!!"

Missiles, mass accelerator shots boom away at the helpless Reapers while violen music plays.

There really ought to be two or three cases of the cool speeches which occurred once in either preceding game. The "Normandy is taking off from the Citadel in search of Saren" scene in ME1 and the "Shepard is rallying the surviving teammates in the Collector Base" scene in ME2 are both very powerful.
