Half of them are empty threats, another quarter are nerdrage butthurt by people who dont know about Biowares history of MP in RPG's, and the final quarter are those who are not willing to accept the intrusiveness of Origin.

As far as I'm concerned, the Origin reason is a valid one. Ive already cancelled mine due to my concerns over it, irrespective of the fact I know how to bypass without having to resort to "illegal" cracks.
As you said, there is still 5 months until its release, so there is plenty of time to put the pre-order back in should EA come to the party about Origin's T&Cs.

Is Origin confirmed? *climbs bridge*

When is it coming out? I will probably still be playing Skyrim.

March 6th. Wow one playthrough of Skyrim can take that long? That's four months....that has to be hundreds and hundreds of hours. Is that just one playthrough? I hope! I cancelled my ME3 preorder and TOR preorder and got Skyrim preordered and a few games for sale on Steam. I like what I see in Skyrim. Looks like a lot to explore and lots of choice. They said there are near 100 different spells. Simply amazing.

I agree with some of the other posters: multiplayer was the last straw and I can and did spend my money on better things. I love Mass Effect, but it has become to much like Gears of War and too much shooting. I'm new to these forums, so I dont know if anyone has ever thought about that or not, but it has and it makes me sad in a way, because ME's story and characters are great. After waiting for reviews I might buy it when there is a large drop in price, maybe when it costs $20-$25.

Maybe they're canceling their pre-orders, because they no longer want to pre-order the game. If someone doesn't like what they hear about a game, it makes perfect sense to do just that. Not everyone cancels pre-orders just to be spiteful. Jesus Christ.

I'm doing the opposite....with the MP coming out hubby will be able to play the game with me now, so I will be placing a second order in with my first (have two XBox's).

Well I kind of meant it as a joke post but who knows right? I will be playing on PC and I am hoping that it'll get lots of mods and mods add insane replayability value for players such as myself. :P

This! I joked about canceling my pre-order in another thread, but I'll buy the game only because I'm invested in the Mass Effect storyline and want to see its conclusion (for Shepard at least). That said, it sickens me that the blind Bioware supporters try to shout down those who have a problem with MP by staing  that they should just shut up and accept any and everything the company decides to offer.

Yes, BW can do whatever they want and I'm sure they've done enough market research to determine the likely success/failure of adding MP.  However,  those opposed to it don't have to be a party to these changes as there are plenty of other quality games available.

That's pretty much my plan of action.

It wont hurt Bioware at all, though many are doing it from a moral stand point. Besides, what will hurt Bioware is buying the game used from Gamestop or somewhere else. Of course there's that online pass thing but I'm sure if you're buying it used you really don't care all that much for the online part.

What kind of logic is that? You sound like the saps that buy a FPS for only the Single Player that ends in a few hours and say they don't need to play the multiplayer to get the full extent of the product.

What's the point of buyin something if you aren't even going to use all it has to offer? If you don't need or want to play the Co-OP than why even buy it new or pre-order it? You're already jipping yourself out of content.

Besides, not pre-ordering and waiting means you will eventually have the option of getting a Bundled version tat has all the dlc.

From what I read the Galaxies at war will effect singleplayer in some way. War Readiness so it should reduce the grind.

I've never been one to wait. GaW only affects it if you choose to play it instead of a few side missions

The question would rather be ... what do you really gain from a pre-order? a few items? How often do you generally use those pre-order items?

Pre-order for me is more a "show of support" or a "show of excitement" and in some rare cases a "show of how stupid I can be". Conversely if something happens during the development that I don't agree with I'm not above cancelling a pre-order. While that doesn't mean I won't buy it, however it means (even if it is effectively only for my own personal peace of mind) I'd register that there are some developments that I don't like and withdraw my support for the moment.

OP seems to be under the delusion that everybody who cancels a pre-order will still buy the game and/or wants to hurt BW, which is simply false.
If I decided, after new "features" are revealed, that I wouldn't enjoy ME3 enough to warrant spending £retail price on it then I would obviously cancel the pre-order and not buy the game.

At the end of the day, the various premium editions cost quite a bit more for some minor gimmicks; which is fair enough for fans for the series and/or BW games. However, fans might not remain fans if BW decided to that it's a good idea to say whatever the fans want to hear, and then do anything (including the exact opposite) to get more sales.

Ive cancelled mine due to my concern of Origin, I think its an insidious piece of spyware and will not have it on my computer. I've PM devs and not received a satisfactory answer as to whether Origin will be required to play ME3, and until I get an answer I will not re-order it. They said they would release a statement informing us at to whether Origin and have yet to do so.
That is why I cancelled my pre-order, Its a point of principle for me.

After the mess that was DA2 I learned my preorder lesson -_-

Will still likely pick up the game, but it'll be after reviews for sure. Worst case, I'll nab a second hand copy since I don't care even remotely about the multiplayer junk they've tacked on.
