Wow, so much whining.
I pre-ordered because I just want to have the game. I don't care if it's there to gather dust. I have plenty of games that have meters on them. If I buy a game and I end up not liking it then I sell it, cheaper but I'm not going to make a drama over it. I like collecting Collecto's Edition games. I'm not rich and I can spare a few bucks for some games I really like and it's not like games pop up every day for me to buy and run out of money then complain I've got nothing to eat.
The problem with Origin can be solved easily. Instal the game on a separate hard disk and voila.
All this whining about features no one wanted and all kind of nonsense is starting to get annoying. Some are acting like spoiled divas who would throw a tantrum over anything that doesn't fit with them.
Since I joined BSN, all I've seen is b****ing, whining and complaining. Naughty! Some need spanking and the naughty corner. And no desert!

I don't like myself either. I have to deal with me every day. It's annoying.

They did. They slapped me right in the face with DAII and said I have to pay for some desert. :crying:

someone hold me.

^ I'm curious why people are sad about having no large areas of sand (desert) instead of something sweet and delicious (dessert).

Sorry guys, I had to. :P

They might find oil from their desert. Then they can afford truckloads of desserts. :wizard:

I cannot grasp what some of the alarmed fans expect to prove by
cancelling their pre-orders for Mass Effect 3 based solely on
speculation about recently announced features. I will admit to being
concerned and wary when I first heard word of 4-player co-op, but every
bit of news since then has eased my concerns to make me skeptically
optimistic (but more optimistic). Cancelling your pre-order only hurts
you, proves little economically, and makes you look silly if you buy the
game later.

As the customers aren't writers at Bioware, the only method they have to voice their disapproval is to withhold purchasing the product.  There is nothing inherently wrong with that, and is the basis of how economics works.

I've long maintained that if ME3 doesn't include an ending that I like, I simply won't purchase it.  It would not be the first time I did something like that.

Personally, I don't see a problem with coop.  Some people do, however, and it's their prerogative to voice their opposition to this feature in the only way they are able, should they so choose.

Because in the middle of the desert you can hallucinate of a dessert.

I am not a big fan of Origin and depending on how invasive its going to be will determine if I pick up the game in March or get a refund of my deposit. With that said I don't think its going to be as evil as people are claiming it will be, for it seems to be pretty similar to what I have agreed to in the past to play a MMO or use Steam, at least the last time I checked the ToS.

On a side note how do you pre-order when having no credit card and it's easier to drive into town and pick it up at Walmart...
never preodered before*

Hey Chris how do we get an auto graphed copy from the Bioware team.  or if possible

You find a friend with a credit card to order it for you. And you don't pay him back once you get the game.

tbh there are many reasons why
1) Origin and it's violation of privacy.
2) Jennifer Hepler who apparently cares more about gay status of Shepard than fate of the universe and her infamous quote during/ or after Dragon Age 2 development "I wish there was a button to skip combat".
3) Shifted focus to multiplayer gives people doubts that they'll develop good single player experience.

The list goes on and on.

Now before you start bashing me for this, please keep in mind that these are not my personal opinions, but just gathered information from various sources. I personally want to play it but I have not pre-ordered it because I will wait for reliable reviews.

Excuse me, I'm not sure whether I've heard it right: Jennifer Hepler is working on ME3 now?

Now, in all honesty this part concerns me personally. I don't give a damn about homosexual Shepard because I am not planning to play him as such. Maybe "for lulz" ...and if I am drunk or high. Anyway, her saying that "they have put a ton of work into these sequences". Honestly, I'd rather they focused more on actual RP, gameplay, choices and consequences in Mass Effect 3 than Hepler's liberal crusade in video games. <_<

You might want to check if your sources aren't...you know fake before posting them next time.

Not to mention it's not a writer's job to care about combat. That's what gameplay designers are there fore.

Ugh. That post infuriates me. Im very glad I cancelled now, because seeing that I would have long before. However, that's probably left for a different thread since it isn't concerning MP.

When I cancelled my preorder the sales representative at my local Game Stop said my girlfriend and I were the fourth people at THAT store to cancel since MP announcement because of multiplayer.

Btw, I have very high expectations, but to the "wait for the reviews" crowd...let's be serious.

ME3 is going to get perfect reviews even if the game turns out like ****.

I haven't made my pre-order yet, but I most definitely wouldn't cancel unless I was told major parts of the single player experience that I loved were being torn out for whatever reason. I want to see the end of the story.

With that said, we all have reasons we bought the first two games. And we all have reasons why we would not buy a game. For some people, it's multi-player, and there's no reason to fault them for that.

Will dropped pre-orders affect the sales of ME3? Most likely not. However, we are consumers, and as more people agree that something isn't worth rewarding with their money people notice. If the number of lost customers exceeds that of how many they gain from MP then it's a safe bet they'll rethink their options in future games, unless you can convince them to start hating money anyhow.

Telling people to lay back and take anything the developers are willing to give them is a nice way of telling companies to walk all over consumers, because it's pointless for us to put our money elsewhere. Certainly, a few lost customers will do nothing to a bottom line. But if enough other like-minded people do the same it has an effect.

We should be appreciating people are willing to drop pre-orders on a game they would probably still enjoy, on principle alone. Because to make any difference, you need people that don't absorb into the "Why should I bother, I can't do anything to change this anyway" mentality. It's a celebration of consumer rights.
