Btw, I have very high expectations, but to the "wait for the reviews" crowd...let's be serious.

ME3 is going to get perfect reviews even if the game turns out like ****.

word of mouth.  youtube videos.  etc etc.  even easier if you like the spoilers (like I do)  easy to check with Wiki and to see which missions are there, how they are done, etc, decide if youlike what you see.

different people have different monetary priorities.  me - my gaming budget is limited.  so I find the game to be not worth full price, I'd rather wait untill its discounted and be able to buy another game with the money I didn't spend.  pre-order and CE extras are just fluff.  I never had them for ME2 or DA2 and you know what?  didn't miss them at all.

Because it's calling voting with your wallet. In the end, it's the only thing EA respects a little.

What exactly is the hubbub with the Origins software? What all does it track?

I may be wrong, but I think it's like Microsoft in how they keep track of hardware configuration.  Others have mentioned that it'll also track what programs you have on your rig which people are thinking allows them to actually monitor how you use your PC.  Okay, that wasn't to the point enough.

It's similar to the drm scheme Microsoft wanted to pull to monitor the legitmacy of programs on your PC or at least that's the idea I'm getting.  I need to read that EULA.

Telling people to lay back and take anything the developers are willing to give them is a nice way of telling companies to walk all over consumers, because it's pointless for us to put our money elsewhere. Certainly, a few lost customers will do nothing to a bottom line. But if enough other like-minded people do the same it has an effect.

In other words, "let the greater mob of consumers walk all over the slightly lesser mob of consumers."

If people decide to announce loudly that they're canceling pre-orders, that is their right, but it is anyone's right to argue a counter-point .  Arguments which are more directly related to countering the reasons to cancel a preorder should be more articulate than, telling people what to do.  Still, anyone telling anyone else what to do seems a minority.

You find a friend with a credit card to order it for you. And you don't pay him back once you get the game.

I'll tell you why: Because i'm not going to support a company that completely ignores me!

Also, i wont look silly because i actually have willpower and a brain. If i decide not to buy something it's because i dont like it!

Point is, you can't really counter someones personal reason for no longer wanting a game. We all play games for different reasons and all have our own individual deal-breakers. Sure you can argue they have no real reason to run around screaming about it, which is perfectly fair. It doesn't really effect anybody else. A few people canceling isn't going to make a big crowd of people go "well if they are, so am I!".

Just because you, or I, or We find it perfectly logical to not cancel because of optional components...doesn't mean it is the logical conclusion to another perspective of thought.

Its easy to call people out for acting irrationally, but we all have our buttons that once pushed, bring us to that point.
