My question is how do the companions to leave the normandy shepard? We see home movie in which only some are still in the ship, from what you read about Mass Effect 3 will be up to us to choose who to address the recruiting raiders. But We're not trapped in the portal in Omega 4?

Just like everyone else, you're going to have to wait until ME3 to find out.

Well, remember that you hired some of those people for your sucide mission. Not to mention how me3 start, but I'll admit it's still strange how people leave while the reapers are still coming.

Trapped in the portal in omega4? They came by a mass relay, all they need to use is the other mass relay that is linked to the one they used to come in.

Well we know that the Normandy returns through the omega 4 relay once the Collector base is destroyed/irradiated. We also know that the ship has the full crew compliment at the time of the aborted Arrival (minus any suicide mission casualties) which is of course between the events of ME2 and ME3. So, at some point between the 2 games the crew disbands but we won't know where or why until we play ME3. BioWare have confirmed a squad based upon Shepard, Liara, Garrus, Tali, James Vega and one of either Ashley or Kaiden. We also know that other ME2 squad mates will appear in the new game but dont know the capacity of their appearances other than they must have survived the events of ME2. How you build your squad in ME3, only BioWare know that at the moment so we'll just have to wait and see...

What were they supposed to do? Sit around twiddling their thumbs? They have lives outside of Shepard, lives they'd probably like to live until the Reaper sh*tstorm appears.

I'd leave too, its not like they implied they wouldn't be coming back afterwards.

they don't disband, not really. shep is charged with a whole bunch of **** and if your council is alien the Alliance will convince them to arrest shep and re assign the Normandy and if your council is human they just take shep and the ship. so basically the crew is left going wtf do we do now and shep's taken back to earth for the trial, queue invasion...

The council can't reassign the Normandy because it's a Cerberus vessel and doesn't belong to the them! By taking it they would be stealing surely!? Also, Shepard being tried on Earth by the Alliance sounds unfair. I know I know, it's to limit damage between the Alliance and the Batarians but they'll want blood regardless and he/she was sent into Batarian space as a lone operative by Admiral Hackett to avoid Alliance connections and if anything, should stand before a Batarian court.

Its called Eminent Domain. Given that Cerberus is a known terrorist organisation, they would not even be granted the financial compensation due under those laws.
You could also argue that it was made with the proceeds of crime (stolen military secrets), which further reduces the likliehood of compensation.

Good point about Eminent Domain, I hadn't thought of that! It sort of makes sense why they'd put Shepard on trial then. Shepard has no concrete proof of a reaper invasion and brought about the destruction of a star system and 304000 lives. Plus he's been, "co-operating", with a known terrorist organisation and the council appear somewhat sceptical about the reapers anyway. I still think that the Batarians will act an be after Shepard in ME3 for retribution though.
