Worst idea implemented in a game? That's easy : DRM
Closely followed by In-Game DLC advertising
Followed by microtransactions that give the buyer an advantage in MMOs
And finally, DLC.

Enough said me thinks,

probably autosave. I hate being told where i can save my game i want to start from the point i was up to not the nearest checkpoint.

Closely followed by QTE's in boss fights. I find them pointless and infuriating when you need to repeat something over and over until you get a combination of buttons right. I'm not even watching the action sequence it creates because i'm so focused on buttons flashing up that i must press.

THIS

And I can't remember the game, but I played this GTA clone once... with speed limits... breaking them would make the cops go after you.

Edit: And another vote for sailing in Wind Waker.

Requiring the main character to cook and deliver curry to the crew on a spaceship in one of the Zenogears games. Meh.

Requiring food/drink (older games) to be constantly in use or in inventory or the character dies of starvation/dehydration.

Requiring the player to find ammo just lying on the ground in wierdly random locations in order to use their guns. Seriously, isn't ammo storage the purpose of armories? Can't the player just loot the armory instead?

Games that play like juvenile harems, i.e. Fable

On that note, STDs.

Probably what Activision has just done with Doritos's and Pepsi by making a deal so when you buy Pepsi's or Doritos's products you get 15 minutes of double exp or something like that. I just see it as irresponsible.

lol yeah like anything in Saints Row is even remotely appropriate.

A takedown using battery power comes to my mind.

-multiplayer in an rpg, especially a series and the third game of a trilogy.

-doing what they did to Samus Aran in Other M. Don't have Wii, but enjoyed Metroid Prime and what Nintendo did to her was blasphemy.

-the game Two Worlds. Simon Cowell himself couldn't unleash hell on the criticism that buggy turd deserved.

-Continuously making Ganondorf the antagonist in The Legend of Zelda. Should have forever stayed in the abyss after Ocarina of Time.

You play it and you'll love it.

You need to try some BG/NvN!

Forcing a digital client on a PC game. Yes I have Steam but do I don't wanna buy a retail game and still be forced to use a third party client. Granted I don't mind much if it's Steam but I prefer to not have games spread out on different clients like Origins.

I agree on forcing a digital client on a PC game. It's why i skipped buying Valve games anymore on PC because i don't want to be forced to have steam. It's just the same as when you download something and then it tries to force all these add ons on you, The difference is usually you can actually decline to download the extras. Any game that forces you to have steam or origin or whatever else shouldn't exist. Digital game platforms should be a choice not a requirement.

And on the subject ridiculous DRM programs like GFWL are a really bad idea. Fine check my games seria codel and i'll even forgive the release date checks (Still a redundant idea anyway) but please don't force me to install something just to play my game that doesn't work properly and it adds about 3 more hours onto the install while it slowly updates itself failing about 3 times before it works.

Pfft. That's my favorite thing to do in Saints Row. Well aside from listening to 80's music and hearing my character sing along terribly.

On vaguely more serious note their music implementation was well done since it didn't cater to one taste.
