No one talk about it .. Yet the french review were excellent.  For a 50 - 75 hours single campaign it's sure seem to be a ghost city! The multiplayer seem to be awesome also.

Anyone purchased it ?

I picked it up yesterday and am currently playing through the first tutorial campaign so I'm not very far in yet. Leaving on the tutorial hints for now just to make sure I don't miss any of the changes.

There seems to be a lot of passive abilities for creatures now such as Shieldguard for the Haven Sentinals. If any enemy attacks a stack adjacent to the Sentinal 50% of the damage is dealt to the Sentinal but the effect is reduced by 25%.

In the tutorial campaign you play a might focused hero and the skill trees look pretty interesting. You have a warcries tree which give you different buff abilities, then you've got tactics and warfare trees which add a lot of passive abilities which can increase the overall health, movement etc of your troops.

With the buffing abilities you can't spam the same one every turn which is probably a good thing. I'm not sure about attacking spells yet. The buff abilities have a cool down of so many turns before you can use it again.

In castle sieges all your troops can attack the walls directly. If you're defending you have a tower that you can put a troop stack into and it will receive a bonus to ranged attacks. There's also a couple of interesting looking Siege master abilities in my hero's tactics skill tree that poisons the enemy troops so they take damage each turn as long as they remain behind the walls.

There is a patch to download (around 0.5gb) I think as a result of changes made after beta testing. I'm not much for multi player with this game with random people online but I haven't tested it yet as I can't log into the Conflux that it runs through. Not sure what the go is but from their forums I'm not the only one with the problem.

My god what a wall of text. Overall I'm enjoying so far and think I'll be sinking a lot of time into it.

I found a user review:

http://www.gamespot....iews;continue;1

Some of the Fans don't like the changes, but It seems the changes are OK. My estimation is this game gets a 8.5 - 9 /10.

I'm so eager to find a copy of it soon!

Can people who got the digital download, download it yet?

My brother pre-ordered it for the digital version and last I had heard, Ubisoft dropped the ball and it wasn't available. Messed up that people could go to the store to pick it up, but those that pre-ordered for digital didn't get their information e-mailed.

There are people that have been able to download digital copies through Steam. I'm not sure via other methods though.

Im have played it tomorrow and nearly at the end of first Campaign(with Necros)

-First thing first new Castle screens are giving me nightmares, i really want to find the genius who changed the famous screens and gave us that ****e! and have little chat with him. (with my +5 Ogre Club)

-Combat seems a bit more strategic at first but after getting healer units or support/heal spells, combats become much more easier, playing on hard and its way more far from previous games in challange. Espcially with Necros i lose only a few Ghouls even in larger battles.
Combat just take long now, not very hard.
But there are some good changes, every unit can attack the walls now, and some of them are even specialized in this.
Battle grounds have some nice buffs/traps.
Units have got some nice abilites, even the basic units(core they call) have tide turning abilities.

-There is only crystal as a rare resource now, that makes strategically holding  enemies most needed resource tactic just  drop dead.
Units and Buildings (damned castle screens...) seems much cheaper now or gold is much more easy to acquire, because i always end up with thousands of gold and easily trade the ones i need from trade post.
And with the old resources gone the game map feels so empty, even emptier than 5th game.

-You can recuit all of your units from any of the castles or forts you have, you can Convert any castle or fort to your side easly reinforcing yourself after a siege battle or capturing a ford.
Converted castles have the same unit buildings as your tier but dont have the special buildings.
There are no more mage guilds... you get spells from skill trees.

-Levelling system and tears systems are nice, my only problem  here is getting spells form talent trees, this is making game a lot easier, get life drain with a necro at level1-2 and you have no problem of losing units.

Stories and cutscenes are nice and you get to make some 2 sided decisions on your travels, You can choose a good path (tears) or agressive/evil path (blood)
And you get new skills and allies depending on how far you developed your path.
I can say this game has the best story and story telling in HOMM games.

-Game has a nice Legacy system and achivment system but you need to be online to use them...
Nonsense if you ask me because Ubisoft's servers are not stable now and i keep losing nice buff before battles(not like you need them tough maybe in impossible) because of DCs...
You get some great legacy weapons that level up with you and get stronger and traits that you can choose at the start of each map, but you need to be online.

-Im not a graphic person but graphics seems nice and animations/spells are smooth.
But didnt quite like the new art/monster type system, espc. Necro and Demon units lack the charisma they have in previous games.

-And one of my biggest dissapointment is music.. They copy pasted a lot of from Heroes 5... Really dissapointing.
Dont get me wrong soundtrack is still superb but they just coppied the old, sigh.

Well i will continue playing but game isnt addictive as previous ones(for me at least) map seems always empty, you can reinforce your army easily even without an effort, enemy AI gotten worse and i end up getting bored playing an Heroes game.
Not even 4th game gave me this feeling and it saddens me.

Wow quite a wall of text :) Ask me anything you want to konw and i try to answer.

PS:

UBISOFT PLEASE GET RİD OF THIS  FREAKING NEW CASTLE SCREENS AND GAVE US SOMETHING LIKE OLD. WE ARE EVEN OK FOR SOME 2D SCREENS LIKE 3RD GAME!

Sorry for the unleashed fury, new castles really driving me mad...

Edit :some mistakes.

The game is not bad so far, but I've just started the campaign.

But for now, there is two point that I really dislike.
First, you can now recruit your creatures from anywhere so, you don't need to go back in a specific town and thus, it remove a great part of strategy.
Also, there is less ressource this time around, every city type uses every ressources, so the market system is a bit less relevant.

And Oh sweet baby jesus... What have they done with the town screens !? :crying:

Oh BTW game comes with classic Map making editor, that is a big freaking plus.
At least we can make some maps crowded with items/resources.

@cyberarmy

So the game isn't challenging at all?

How would you compare it in difficulty to something like King's Bounty?

Well its not challenging with Necros(for me at least)
Necros got a powerfull healer unit, Spectres and their main ability Necromancy can be used frequantly to re animate your units and Dark Spells like Mass Life Drain (really lol) make the combat even easier.
After core units we got elite units but they didnt make a noticable difference.

Human castle got a modarete healer and a powerfull hero ability, prevents all damage.
And combine it with some Light spells or battle shouts again streamlines combats.

I think Kings Bounty was harder espc.at later game but i havent seen much later game in HOMM6 now.
But its even easier from previous games at start and campaign start a bit slow.

Sounds like Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is still the best. My mom got addicted through a friend of hers and I played the first three and the Armageddon's Blade expansion. The Phoenix was my favorite unit and the fire mage woman was my favorite hero that the expansion added.  But it was hard as hell for me, the campaign.

The graphics look nice too and I've looked at it again and I feel the graphics still hold up.

Well that is about par for HoMM games. Each race has a few easily explotiable wins.

Any good reviews of HOMM6 out yet? This game didn't seem to get much coverage by the media.

I plan on picking it up in next few days maybe, reviews be dammed I'm gonna risk it! Well it's only like £15 here now so hardly a big risk, costs only slightly more than in general a [single DLC] for <insert random game name or brand here>.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 sucks with his puny graphics. I don't engage in playing it again.
Heroes IV was better (yea, I like to put 3 heroes in one Army and the graphic level is MAX-2D) than Heroes V and both have been great fun.
I should try this game soon to see if Its the best in the series or not.

Heroes VI has got 4.2/5 (8.4/10) already by a ranking gamer website.

I played it for an hour. I cannot judge it based on that, but I may give it 8.5/10

City Screen is awful a small clip that repeated itself. It seems the game needs some anti-analyzing options. Also the creatures and maps are low to enjoy, comparing to Heroes IV and V (21 units per each faction: Tribes of the east). The gaming elements are the hybrid of Heroes of Might & Magic and King's Bounty. I found the demon's lack of charisma disturbing!
Graphic is fine and battles are fascinating. This game needs a patch or better an expansion to be considered as a 9/10.

Still in two minds about this.... my favourite is still the third HoMM.... maybe once its a bit cheaper.

My hesitation in buying new games comes from knowing everything will get dropped once Skyrim arrives!

Add Undeads there too...
Cannot play with my 2 favorite races thanks to new creature designs...
Im stuck with Sanctuary now, strangely i always hate Asian design in medivial type games but im enjoying with my sharkmen and bearded frogs(!?)

I also enjoyed from Hashima Campaign. This game is so nice, especially for the skill system.
I recommend you to buy it if you like turn-based Strategy Games or even RPG.

Alright I take it back. I am very disappointed in how they simplified the game.

HoMM3 remains my favorite with HoMM5 as a runner up and HoMM4 for Best HoMM music.
