I noticed this long time ago but she has a different dragon model than the other dragons. In origins she had the same model as the others but in DA2 she looks totally different. Flemeth dragon form has a different body shape and has arms that she can use to grip things. Now all the dragons in DA Universe that we seen so far are the same except Flemeth.

Now are there different species of dragons if DA universe? She can't be the same type of a dragon that the others are, even the archdemons are regular dragons just corrupted but her model introduces a whole different type of a dragon. I hope there is some explanation for it and that bioware didn't just make her different to look cool with no lore or anyything to back it up why she looks different in dragon form than other dragons we encountered.

The explanation is simple - her Human!Flemeth model is different from DA:O, therefore her Dragon!Flemeth model would be as well. She isn't bound by the standard laws of nature, so of course she would change things up based on need, desire or whim.  Image IPB

What? They're not regular dragons. They're gods.

That's one way to put it but I was hoping for a more. I really doubt it's that simple and I really don't think that flemeth had a model change, she can exist in different places at same time I would not be surprised if the old flemeth was the who raises the daughters and the flemeth we saw in dragon age 2 is the one who does the dirty work. I think that MOrrigan is young flemeth.

By "model" I mean the form she wishes to assume, not any technical body model. She's a shapeshifter - she can be anything she wants to be, for all we know. The dragon form she holds when she meets Hawke may be an ancient dragon. We've never seen it, there may not even be tomes or records on the type of dragon, but the Woman of Many Years may remember it, and thus, decided to don that apparel, as it were.

She may be a special type of dragon capable of shapeshifting, probably connected to the Old Gods. People are so quick to brush off her dragon form as just a mere convinience for her when I think it's very likely there's more to it.

If you believe what the stories say, then yes.

Yea so there must be or there were different species of dragons shape shifting can't be like oh I'll change in to a cat with green stripes and fluffy paws and a etc. There must have been a dragon like that once from which flemeth learned that morph. Morrigan went in to depth that she has to study the animal to become it.

To be honest, I don't think it's really as complicated as some of you may think.

Dragon Age II got an artistic makeover. Essentially, they decided to go back and change the style of the graphics. I assume they did this partly because of how many complaints there were about the graphics in Origins being less than mind-blowing compared to what they could have been.

Flemeth got a makeover in the art department. If you're curious as to why she did, I'd wager it has something to do with the fact that Flemeth's dragon model is now the same as the dragon on the new title sequence for BioWare (where the blood/red-paint dragon roars and turns into "BioWare" on screen before the game loads).
