Hi....the game keeps crashing on certain zones (for example, the way to Ishal Tower, Lothering, the Tower of Mage).
It's the third time i restart the game, and the first two times it DIDN'T HAPPEN.
my operative system is windows vista 64, i have nvidia 8800gts and 4gb ram.
yesterday, with another character, the game didn't have any problem.
Help.

now, another problem.



i crash no more, but the colours of the items (especially the interiors of houses in Denerim) are bugged. I updated the drivers of my grafic card 2 days ago. What can i do?

i also see a lot of npc bodies become invisible, or totally black, continuous crashes are restarted.....all buildings interiors are black.

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?

i'm desperate, help!

Very odd. I'm not suffering from any of those issues, barring the crashing.



Did you do anything specific that helped fix the crashing issue? I'd be happy to help you explore a solution, but I can't do much if I'm stuck outside Lothering

I have kind of the same problems. I keep crashing over and over. Sometimes I get to play 1minute, sometimes I crash before its finished loading my save. Sometimes I crash after 2hours. Its mostly under 5minute crashes from the game load up. Not sure why is this happening and I'm afraid to reinstall the game incase I loose my saved character datas and all that crap.

Sounds like a different issue. I only crash in one place, irrespective of amount of time played - and that's upon attempting to enter Lothering.

I always crash at the first scene in the game just after I've created my character, there is no error message, just "Dragon Age Origins has stopped working"

I am having no trouble getting into Lothering.  My problem seems to be leaving the Chantry....the game crashes everytime I try to leave it.  Crashes as soon as the screen starts loading.  I even made another character and to see if that would help...it didn't. LOL. Crashes at the exact same spot.

Bluseygal - the crashing on leaving the Chantry bug has been striking quite a few people.



One proposed fix is to turn off all the audio and put your graphics settings to the lowest possible, then try leaving. If it works, its safe to put them back to normal afterwards.

Ive got the same problem with my game whenever i try and leave the chantry. ive even submitted a ticket a week ago and i anit heard bugger all.

I encountered this same problem and after searching for a while discovered a line in a thread (don't remember which one, sorry), that suggested making sure that your active quest was set to the primary one for Lothering.  Once I did that, I no longer crashed when trying to leave the Chantry

It happens When i make a human char but not with the Drawfs.

Buzzkerix, did the fix suggested in my post above yours, or docdavell's work for you? Getting a confirmed fix for the Chantry exit bug would be quite handy - feedback is important as well as just bumping the thread.



Mistiko - no idea myself, but watch this space. Lots of frustrated people have been doing a lot of tinkering to try to beat these issues, and gradually we're finding ways round them.

samething my game crash randomly after 1-2-3 min 10 min ect or 1 hrs always crash freezing my hole computer i wish its not breaking it or else ill be reaaaaallllyy angry at bioware

I think, problem in videocard.
What is crash - 1 BSOD,2  computer stop,3 game fail or 4 black screen with worcing coolers in computer?
If 4, problem in videocard.
7900gs and 8800 has this problem.

Unfortunately, that made absolutely no difference to the crash for me. Ah well - back to the drawing board (and EA support ticket)

Sapphire 4850 + Pentium Dual-Core 2.5->3.8GGz.My choise.Cheap and powerful computer.

And no hemorrhoids:))))

I don't remember settings, set all to minimum and try.

If no crashes -change video....
