Hey ive tryed exiting the chantry a couple of times using your advice it appears to work 3/5 trys. its just a pain having to flic the settings back and forth all the time. id ask why bioware anit done a patch to fix the loading screen bug in general yet, but its pointless to ask cuz all you'll get is we're looking into it if they even bother to answer you at all. but any way cheers for the lil tip wozearly.

Any time, Buzz. ;)

Problem seems to be that different people are affected by similar-looking bugs in different places.

Those where it *always* happens in one specific place probably aren't hardware bugs.

Those where it happens seemingly at random are more likely to be hardware bugs, but judging from what people have been experimenting with, may not necessarily be anything to with hardware at all.

Arrrgh!

ok, well....

in denerim, i have to load game twice, because the first time i lag a LOT.

Then, i OFTEN crash whenever i try to open the world map.

and the texture of the npcs are ALL bugged.

These bugs are only in denerim, in all other palces is all ok...

Did you have any issues at all with the install process, Vertrix?

The NPC textures sounds like it could be a bug in the texturepack (or equally a conflict between the game and your graphics card).

Not sure why it would cause a crash when opening the world map, or why only Denerim would be affected assuming the install is clean...but then, as I'm suffering a highly specific crash myself I suppose it could just be one of those things.

Currently chatting with a helpful EA CSR online about the issue I'm facing. If any solutions come from it, I'll post them up here.

I have same crashing issues in various zones, turning graphics way down to minimum and setting the game to run on one core reduces the crashing / gets you through the zone. As ive progressed thru the game it just gets worse and worse i have to save every odd minute, and several times ive corrupted my save as it crashes during save. My pc has Q6700 processor, 8gb ram and a GTX280 grahics card. Why should i play this game on minimum graphics just to get thru it, gonna put the game on hold until bioware release a patch to resolve these issues :((((

Well blow me down with a feather.

Wiping the temp directory and running a complete re-install actually solved the problem. Onwards with the rest of the quest.

To, uhh...complete the game that is. Not to find more bugs to fix. :P

I have been crashing all the way through the game so far; Lotherin, Redclife, Elf forest and also Denerim City. Anytime, anyplace and it's really frustrating. Have updated all drivers and my system is more than capable of the system specs of the game. I'm at a loss :(

Where is this temp directory you speak of?

Thanks!

I think I solved my crash problem. I have an ATI 4870 and I uninstalled my catalyst drivers. Using the drivers that came with Windows 7 (64bit), I can play for hours without crashing. Before it was every 10-15mins.
