Full rivalry or friendship with the opposite sibling?

And you have Carver. Who's inclined to rival you.
It's not too hard to get Bethany to friendship (a bit harder to get Carver to rivalry, but it's possible- it just means doing a lot of random actions as the things he likes and dislikes are a bit more varied then Beth's generally 'like mages, don't be an ****'). But is it, now that we have the DLCs, possible to move Bethany to full rivalry or Carver to full friendship?
I'm about to give a go with Carver- it is going to have to mean going the Grey Warden path (as that's an easy +25 or whatever points right there) for him. But I wonder if there are enough points out there. Has anyone given it a shot?

I've heard tell full Carver friendship is possible, but I've never really gone for it. Be interesting to do it if we can though.

There's no bonus content for locking sibling approval - their reactions change according to which side of the metre you're on, but that's all. I still found befriending Carver a satisfying experience. (Even though my Hawke had to throw her fellow mages under the bus on several occasions to do it.)

Ooh, I'd like to full friendship Carver. Tough since my character is strongly pro mage ... wonder if it can be done staying in character... hmmn, this bears investigating
Unless your character thinks just like Carver no it isn't possible to stay in character. Even with the DLC getting him to full friendship requires you milking all of the +friendship points and avoiding all +rival that you can. I assume it is the same with Beth going rival though I haven't done that nor do I think I will. I just can not be mean to her.

Yes it is. My Hawke turned in Grace and her cohorts to the templars because she knew they were blood mages but was unwilling to slaughter the lot of them outright. She thought that Feynriel would have done better in the Circle where he could get real magical instruction from other mages that didn't flat out resent his presence (like he would have gotten with the Dalish). She demanded that Petrice give her the money simply because she had no intention of getting into an argument with a chantry official in Lowtown.

Well all of those you listed give +friendship with Carver so really you did what he would have. Doing any of those the other way will mean you will come up short of full friendship. I should admit that I did assume what Tyrium meant by staying in character was a mage friendly run.

Also will never be a douchebag to Bethany. She's too innocent(plus I got pissed when Cullen took her away to the Circle)

Uh. I'm not sure I'm understanding your question, but for me, Bethy locks in at friendship in the first act if I'm not an anti-mage d-bag to her, and once a character is at full one or the other it can't change...
I was an anti-mage d-bag to her all first act, yet I still managed to have her at max friendship.
