When the first time I enter the Shadow theatre, I can't see my characters. Is this normal or what?

I mean I really can't see my characters when I enter the Shadow Theatre.

So, you see your main character fine and normal? The companions you've picked up so far are still listed on the partybar (right edge of screen)?

But Safiya, say, isn't with you or even in her spot in the back room of the Veil? Can you bring up a party editor window:

and everything seems to be in order there (it lists the companions you've met so far)? Do companions appear by your side if you simply leave the Veil? Try tinkering, run the Gui screen above both inside and outside and see what it says.

I can't really see "ALL" of my characters. I'm just in ACT I. Where your party member is just Safiya and the PC.

that is, I have no idea why your PC could disappear. Here are some generic questions, tho


Can you move around? ie, click on the floor with the camera in Character/Exploration mode and things actually move around

is patched to v1.23 w/ Dx9.0c installed okay?


Anything in Override (or elsewhere) that might cause this, like an Appearance override pack???

I have the latest patch of course, I also can't see the enemies. I can move yes though I can't see any characters.

All i can think of is something going on at a more fundamental level, like OS<->hardware (dx9c)


i suggest either reposting this to the TechSupport forum (with all yer system specs), or doing a complete and careful reinstall according to Selene's directions there,

if you do, back up important files/folders you wish to keep ( you know the drill )

It sounds like you're not able to load the models. Memory issue, maybe? Or perhaps it's a graphics problem with the black/white palette. Check to see if there are any notes about your graphics card and NWN2/MOTB.

Did you know you have to install Dx9c - dx11 doesn't cut it ( they co-exist peacefully )

re. Pic: looks like there's a shadow there under the "D" (or it could be a gorestain on the floor) - but not even a selection/targetting circle ......

Where's your save? Does this happen only in Shadow Mul? Can you zone back out .. and char's reappear - I still think it's OS/hardware related ( never heard of this before, and Google didn't turn up anything ), vid drivers up to date?



ps. You might be able to set your keyboard up to target-nearest and perform default action on Target ... might be able to play through it if this doesn't fix itself.

The reason I ask if you can see your characters in different areas, is because if they are gone everywhere - if all character models are gone everywhere - it probably means your Appearance.2da file has gone south (reinstall, or download Pain's from the Vault ..).

It's just in the Shadow Theatre that this happened to me. I can't even move forward to the game.

I'm guessing there is an incompatibility with your video driver. Make sure your video card driver is up to date.
