Does anyone have any ideas for placeables to fill out the empty spaces in town. Some cameos to add interest.
I hate crates and barrels for this purpose I think they can be lazy and out of place in a med type setting.
I am currently building Leilon for my next mod and I am struggling to stop it looking like every other town I have built.
Thoughts would be welcome.

Think how the town functions, trade, transport, food, fuel, and waste. You might have a chicken coop or pig pen, maybe a small garden. Stuff gets laid by for storage, including firewood, hay, building materials, and hanging laundry. And then there's the waste; piles of trash, broken wagons, passed-out drunkards, and an over-grown vacant here and there. Think also of the different sorts of people in the town, and where they sleep, work, and play.
I like to leave a space or two empty when building an area, anyway, just in case I find a use for it later on in the module.

Thanks LotRS that has fired one or two fresh and good ideas. Things can get a little state after a while.
Leilon is quite a good target for the trade one since the Wiki has it as a poor port with mud flats so I've got that in the area (geographically mud flats is a little wrong but I am letting that one go as artistic liscence
)
I will think about the rubbish idea, perhaps some bits laid around.
I always think of these towns as waste not want not. A broken crate would dissapear overnight and be on some poor souls fire. I don't see things just lying around in the streets for long.
