Was motion Capture done for Duke Prosper for the Mark of the Assassin dlc? His gestures and the way he generally moves seem to be very specific and individual to his character; More recognisable then pretty much everyone else in the game I thought. It was a nice touch to the dlc as it really potrayed him as Orlesian I'd actually be suprised if Motion Capture wasn't used just for his character because it standed out more than Tallis (for me at least) ...

Also Damn he was an awesome character, Does anyone know who wrote him? =)

Awesome character?

Not really. Annoying, pompous pissant? yes.

Yeah he was certainly more animated than any other character in the game. A little too much actually.

That may have been deliberate...to make him look, um, 'swishy'.

I liked him tbh. A Villain that is human, instead of "HURR INSANE!" or "RAWR IMMA DARKSPAWN!".

"Men's hearts hold shadows darker than any tainted creature." It's good to have a human villain now and then.

Oh yes, a boring, annoying twit who only wants death and destruction for no real reason other then, you know, he's a jerk. Yes, he's TEH BESTEST.

At least Merideth made you feel something; by the end of the game, I honestly loathed her, and at the same time I was a little sad because she had the potentintal to be freakin' cool, if she wasn't a crazy b****, even before the idol.

Propser just made me go 'you stupid little ****'. No more, no less.

Prosper serves the Empress. He is trying to obtain vital information, that would either help his country in the event of a war with the Qunari, or cement them as the strongest nation on Thedas. Entirely understandable motivation. Some of the greatest tragedies in our world has been comitted for less than that.

He is arrogant and filled with disdain, yes. But he is a nobleman, supposedly one of the most powerful ones. It does not seem like that should *not* be the case.

I didn't get that at all. I got a spoiled **** who wanted a one-up on everyone around him, wanted praise and recognition and power.

Not a good villain. Not even a good character. Didn't change the fact that I loved the DLC, but in terms of characters, Prosper was just a boring, typical, baddie.

I feel like he could have been a good character if bioware had gave an effort.

Again, we do not know his motives for sure. It would have been a nice touch to have been let in on this some way or another.

The first part of what you say is probably true. But, it does not make my (admittedly) assumptions false; it speculation on my part, yes, but as I said... Human Villains were needed after killing hundreds if not thousands of insane, demons and darkspawn.

I didn't mind him.

This was the first time that we got to actually be in Orlais, and I liked that Duke Prosper looked and acted the part.

I enjoyed Duke Prosper quite a bit as an antagonist. He was quite fun. And I loved him calling me a 'turnip' when angered. Makes me really want to play in Orlais now.

I thought he was good villain. Also, there's nothing quite so entertaining as an infuriated Orlesian trying his best to outswear Ferelden commoner.

Hawke's parting comment was gold, too:

"Looks like the Duke..." (puts on sunglasses) "...has fallen from grace."

I hate his name. Prosper. It's not close to anything sounding French or even a real name. These words that Bioware uses, like Prosper, Worthy, Elegant, THESE ARE NOT REAL NAMES!

Real people have been named after qualities and characteristics all throughout history. I'm not feeling as ambitious as Wulfram with the linking, but as far as names go, I've heard and seen Prudence, Charity, Chastity, Hope, Joy, Faith...etc.

We never visit Orlais. Chateau Haine is in the Vimmark mountains, in the Free Marches, right next to Kirkwall.

I'm with Rojahar and Cutlass Jack. Prosper was fun. He had a suave arrogance and a straightforward delight in... well, everything, that was a nice break from all those Kirkwall people who take everything so damn seriously all the time. Also, I gotta give a certain respect to a man who doesn't beg for mercy.

Oops...well, it was nice seeing all of the Orlesians, even if MotA was in the Free Marches.  They certainly have character, especially Baron Arlange, who I enjoyed killing.

Oddly enough those are not the strangest names I've heard for people.
